From my perspective, to become trainee the person must pass the audition AND signed the "Trainee Contract". She never signed contract so I assume she is wasn't SM trainee.

Jyp and Bighit had been friends before Bighit ever had a company. I remember Bighit working as a producer under JYPE, then when he had enough money, he open his own company. That’s why Twice and BTS have a lot of interactions, itzy Ryujin and Yuna was in bts love yourself reel etc
