I am running a (supposedly) short campaign of a V20 variant built aroun the idea of sending a group of vampires back in time. They were vampires following the call from the east ran into a True Brujah who had been frozen in time since the fall of carthage and diablerized him. They stumbled back in time and now dont know how to get back into their own timeline.
I said f-ck it, with vampire Cain lore and sent them back to the time of Conan the barbarian. The PCs pop into a bar with Conan, Wolverine, Punisher, and The Thing. Bar fight was epic. Start off the PC are to recover ancient vampire artifact, random index card art item pulled. Curve blade made from a vampire thigh bone. Later in game one vampire lost his leg and a cultist created the McGuffin. So that player PC was caught in a time loop with two blades made from him. So that PC got left back in time 12,000years ago. End of game when most of the PC return to the present, Wolverine and the Punisher were waiting for them.
I run 1st ed. D&D homebrew, and one-on-one Vampire 5th. Years ago I ran "Horror on the Orient Express" of Call of Cthulhu and I wasn't satisfied with the way I ran it. So I started thinking about running CoC again. I usually wait for friends to introduce me to new games before I start running them.
@@TheGentlemanGamer My friend ran us through that in1989. It inspired 10 straight years of me running the early CoC editions, due to the extreme high quality of Masks. It is the best published campaign for any RPG I have played. The early version, like with Shadows of Yog-sothoth, is pounded with information. I imagine later editions are a much softer read for the Keeper.
I'm wanting to run more than I am actually running at the moment, but I got a list. • I started last week a short campaign (4 sessions) of Wraith: The Oblivion. Players have become Wraiths now and eagerly anticipate the horrors they will stumble and fall into. I also have some other Wraith games planned up after that, so a fair amount of Wraith to start off the year. • I'm getting into Pendragon recently and, feeling that 6e is incomplete, recently acquired 5.2 edition and The Great Pendragon Campaign book. If I can't find some keen players for that, I will probably end up using it for some solo play, once I have a better understanding on how to run it. • Been wanting to run Werewolf: The Apocalypse for about 3yrs and I want this year to be the year I do that, beyond the odd oneshot. Would love to take a stab at the historical Dark Ages & Wild West settings too. • My partner has done a fine job at getting me excited for Call of Cthulhu, which I really should get on running. • Similarly, we both are very excited for Curseborne and may well do something together. • A game I backed last year called CHAINSAW is coming out, which is a MORK BORG "powered" game with a slasher-horror focus. Really keen to make that a staple of my horror GMing. • Fallout, Apocalypse World & Cyberpunk are other games I'm really keen to try out as well. I could go on, but there's enough for now 😉
Other than system mechanics, it is not that difficult to fold Lovecraft into any vampire or werewolf game. a.) Dark ages, .. vampire clan Giovanni of the city of Venice. My gaming shop group did multiple campaigns on The Rise of Venice. Givanni started off as Mage the Ascension necromancers that hook up with Italy Fianna werewolf kinfolk. Basic you/they sent out Giovanni daughters to party with werewolves to have their own sect of werewolves within their family. So you have mages, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and a few others all of the same extended family with the key goal effort to develop Venice into a regional city state super trade power. Family & city loyalty matters the most. b.) Scooby Doo. side mini game as a spoof of a Cold War era Romania late 1970's VW van with two wraiths, one ghost drives the Van who bind with the vehicle anima spirit. A couple of witches, Shadow Lord werewolf, and Tzimisce, about eight PC sometimes a dozen and they all fit in the van like a clown circus car, or everyone sitting in the back are the size of grade school children. Goofy nighttime road trip where the van can drive in the ghost lands or just pop up wherever the adventure is set up to happen. Weird & cartoonish works for stress free cheap laughs & giggles for an hour before we switch over to more grim dark style of play. c.) Werewolf packs and sometimes mages make totem pack pacts with given spirits which can be as strange or interesting as the story teller and PC group can get. d.) Dream clips, ever player PC has a dream scene where if they successes or fail they regain 1 to 3 willpower points at night while they sleep. Sometimes PC dream scapes cross over to each over. Such as getting up to go to the kitchen to make themselves a sandwich to eat. Did they even get the change to eat their sandwich, and was it any good ? Or they are playing hid & seek with a monster within a dream house/apartment.
good ol D&D 3,5, started new campaign with new group. been a while, but its been fun and I still like the system best and the forgotten realms setting as well.

I have two V5 games, one where I am playing a Salubri Anarch trying to break vicious cycles and of course surviving. I am running one in midcentury USA. The characters are autarkis nomads, who had to leave the Camarilla after their names showed up in some Camarillas files. The games has been running for a few month and so a lot of things happened but for now we are still having fun point crawling different domains. But topics about the curse of vampirism have become central as well. I will do a lot of playtesting for my own games this year, since at least two are reaching this stage in their development. I am also planning to run a game of Monsterhearts set in a german girlscout camp. (A small town that has been released and made possible by the german crowdfunding) A multisession game for Miss Bernburg's Finishing School for Young Ladies, a Firebrands game about a 50s finishing school, coming of age drama and finding freedoms in a restrictive society is something I really want to do and will likely facilitate. I will also play in a D&D5 Ravnica one-shot as a Golgari Yuan-Ti Ranger (Gorgon flavored) and run a one-shot of Shadowrun set in Britain after a peaceful revolution,
Patherfinder 2e. Yes. By the way, have always enjoyed your content. Will most likely try They Came From CLASSIFIED! at some point this year. Logistics is the Final Boss of table top roleplaying.
Right now im playing blades in the dark were a group of hawkers selling artifacts and magical items and some standard pathfinder 2e where were in the process of figuring out a fortune dispute either a half elf family of engineering and a drow seamstress guild. Now what i would love to play warhammer fantasy roleplay it was my first non d&d system i played and i will always love to go back to it. Another would be Scion or Exalted just for the some demigod action and finally if things work out in a way i want to run a game of heavy gear 4e or mekton zeta since its been years since i ran a mecha game and ive got the itch.
Unfortunately the fates conspired to keep my friends busy for the foreseeable future. Luckily, the content here has picked up, silver lining and all that. Edit: idealy, I'd rope my friends into playing an Aztec dnd book i picked up, 'Macuahuitl', based on 1st ed dnd.
Definitely would like to try curseborne, love me some Urban horror / urban fantasy. speaking of urban fantasy, I've recently been getting into Mage the Ascension and I've already ran a one shot of that. I would love to play in a mage game at some point, but I will most likely be running games for it for my locals. Been playing some DnD in a friends homebrew world, drow Paladin. Playing Dread as well around a bonfire when I get the chance great stuff!
I’m presently running a 5e 2014 D&D game set in Faerun, first time out of my homebrew in years. I have the somewhat rare occurrence that I am playing in two other games. One of Candela Obscura and one of Cyberpunk Red. My next item to run is gonna be an older game, Rifts, Whispering Vault, or maybe I’ll go newer and run Curseborn. ☺️
So far I've been running some Mage the Ascension oneshots for neurodivergent people and apparently I'm about to start a small 3 to 4-session chronicle. I'm planning on running a few Invisible Sun games, Mage the Awakening and maybe Changeling the Lost. Hopefully one or two small curseborne chronicles, a blades in the dark one and... I hope, Wraith the Oblivion
I don't know how you would have the head space to run so many games. Maybe that's your super power ;-) I had been sitting on Dragonbane since the kickstarter delivered, so I thought I should try that out finally, and see if that fits (they loved the epicness of D&D 5E, but not all those rules). And I run for a library Tweens & Teens D&D club, but I am using my favorite version of D&D: Shadowdark (it's all the simplicity of B/X, but with the streamlined 5E mechanic). But there are two games I have been excited about for a while that I plan on running for my wife's group after Dragonbane: "Black Powder and Brimstone ," (think Warhammer Fantasy, but with the Mork Borg system, and no elves, halflings, or elves) and "Arzium" (based off of the Above and Below boardgames). If we can pull it off, I would love to run Curseborn for them (and maybe, just maybe At the Gates). I have been wanting to run more story focused games these days. I also have been trying to get my oldest and her friends to start up a gaming group (ages 10-12), and if they do, I plan on running more "BadgeQuest" (supernatural investigation and monster fighting girl scouts), Magical Kitties Save the Day, and Little Wizards. BTW, I always eye that board game right behind you, "The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31". that is such an awesome game! Thanks for the video!
I like the Mage Awakening mechanics over ascension better. Fun part the mage Thysus animalist spiritualist can turn spirit energy point into a mage tass point. With the spheres of spirit/prime contain with space and you can create a magic locus item to create jellybeans to carry mage /werewolf power fuel points. The thysus/ dream speaker mages sell jellybeans as werewolf Scooby Doo snacks.
