Markus, this is so useful and you've really helped me out with this. One question for you - if you are using your laptop with an integrated camera and zoom, how do you show the participants in the room?

  • @jenmovies

Hi Markus, these videos of yours are awesome thank you. As someone with 19 years experience in radio, I suggest for your YT videos you please use a popsock on your mic as it will reduce all the clicking and sss sounds that happen to everyone naturally when they talk. Just something I noticed after watching a few of your videos. Thanks so much for sharing these!

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for watching! I've tried the foam windscreen that came with my mic, but didn't notice a difference. Maybe it's time to give it another go.

Great info. Thank you for sharing! I'm preparing to deliver a hybrid presentation this week where I will be speaking remotely on zoom using my laptop and Logitech webcam with my audiotechnica microphone to an audience who will be in a different location in the same room with a large screen on stage. What would you recommend the setup be for the conference room? I would like to be able to see and hear the audience.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I don't.really understand your setup. You'll be remote but in the same room?

    • @NICKZIZI
      @NICKZIZI 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@ I will remote and the audience will be in a another location but all in the same room watching me on a large screen.

Hi Marcus, Thanks for your very informative videos. My Probus club is working toward holding a hybrid meeting. The meeting will have one main presenter plus the club president. The room is large enough that in-room amplification is required. And of course audio and video for the zoom audience. What setup would give us both in-room and zoom audio?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I talked a little about using the venue's PA system here: th-cam.com/video/X2Z0AAraNew/w-d-xo.html
You can probably connect to the mixing desk with a USB cable.

Markus, thank you for making these videos. Do you have one that deals with a hybrid meeting when the speaker is coming in via Zoom?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The same setup should, in principle, work regardless of where the presenter is. Is there a particular challenge you've come across?

    • @liliswensongcmgawebeditor9290
      @liliswensongcmgawebeditor9290 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@ I think in our case we need to just get better equipment.

    • @johnackers6311

Your presenter should be close to his/her microphone so people at the meeting get good audio without reverberation from the room the presenter is in. A headset or a mobile phone headset with a dangling mic is good; don't rely on the microphone(s) built into the laptop which might also two or more feet away. Phones/iPad's/tablets tend to work well largely because people get close to the small screen.

I need to conduct hybrid meetings in a social hall that holds 200+ people.
Any tips you have for that type of setup would be appreciated.
One thing I have seen is that when I try to connect to Zoom with my account on multiple devices, the ones connected earlier drop out, due to the newer connections. Is there a setting in Zoom which permits or restricts multiple sessions to the same meeting with the same account ?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

In my experience, the previous accounts don't leave the meeting, they just log out of Zoom (which has no impact on the meeting).
You can probably connect to the mixer in the room with a USB cable. That's what I do at my comedy shows.

Thanks for the video. I'm trying to connect interpretation booths to Zoom and run a hybrid meeting. For the time being, the only solution I have come up with is to take the sound from interpretation channels, feed it to computers where Zoom is open and let the remote participants select on Zoom the languages they wish to listen to. The sound and interpretation system we use inside the meeting room is Televic. Is there any technology I can use to interface between Zoom and the system installed inside the room?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not familiar with that system I'm afraid!

Very interesting. I wonder if I could pick your brains with a scenario my camera club is facing.
Our club is looking at broadcasting our meetings over zoom or something similar for a few elderly members who can no longer attend physically.
    We have several needs though.
We need a speaker in place so that the hard of hearing can here the guest speaker in the hall.
We also need a setup that will allow us to broadcast or record meetings for members to view live or at a later date.
The problem is we are having difficulties trying to figure out what equipment we need.
What route would you suggest we go down?
    Thanks

Hi Markus, thanks for sharing. Just a question about hybrid meeting zoom. can i set up a hybrid meeting without being the zoom host?

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes I believe you can! I don't use any host-specific features in my setup.

    • @bondwang1635
      @bondwang1635 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes we did it. Keep in mind that any individual virtual participate can set up a hybrid environment, as far as you use the two-camera model as Marcus demos here.

I'm curious about using a projector for a screen. My Toastmasters group is starting a hybrid meeting and have limited funds. Do you have any suggestions of a budget projector new or older that work with new computers. We picked up an older projector for free, but have compatibility issues because it only has VGA connectors.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

If budget is the primary concern, then I'm sure you can get a cable that converts whatever port you have on the laptop (like Mini DisplayPort) to VGA.

Zoom does an amazing job in bad internet environments. At least I can hear and be heard. I've noticed with Meet and Teams if the internet is poor we really can't continue the meeting. Curious why this happens.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm not sure why, but I agree Zoom does a great job managing limited bandwidth!

    Hi Markus:
I am thinking of providing each table in my in-person group with a tablet running zoom.
The Zoom developers can easily solve the audio feedback problem by setting up a physical conference room group. Just as a single laptop mutes its own speaker as the microphone is activated, zoom can mute the speakers of more than one laptop that are part of a physical conference room group. IE if the sound originated outside the conference group it would be broadcast to all laptops. If the sound originated within the physical conference group the sound would be broadcast only to the laptops which are not part of the physical room group. Would this work?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

If you are in contact with the developers at Zoom, do check with them!

hi markus, my name is john and i do zoom meetings with various countries but i want to use obs. i have been having trouble lately setting up my obs with zoom to do what you call a hybred meeting. To explain my latest problem in short. i was connecting to a call from india, they were hosting. Their internet seemed very good. What i was trying to do was record the meeting in obs . i had zoom using the obs virtual camera and i used a photo background. while also recording the live meeting taking place in india. the video and audio were a second or a few mila seconds apart. Somehow the live meeting in india's video bled into my virtual background and all sorts of problems. in other words, i have no idea what i'm doing hahah

Hello, how can place virtual camera with a photo and when I say something out the virtual photo placed on the virtual camera say the same thing that I said in real life.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

You mean the output should be text on a virtual background? Or you want an avatar who looks like they're speaking like some Twitch streamers use?

What would you say is the maximum number of people in person for this setup?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

That's difficult to say, as there are many factors. I guess the main constraint would be the range of the speakerphone. The Poly devices I use (th-cam.com/video/zzY5cLFs-zA/w-d-xo.html) both work nicely even at 5 meters.

What did he mean by a the "30 minute" limit for HDMI?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Many cameras, including the Canon M50 I use, have a 30-minute recording limit. I believe (but have not tested) that this also applies to streaming over HDMI. With a USB cable, you can stream and record for as long as you want.
