- In the first scenario following the tutorial in Train Sim World's Northeast Corridor New York route I'm running the early commuter service from Newark International Airport. Starting out in Newark before taking the train to New York I'll be fine once I can figure out how to close the doors. This is Train Sim World Northeast Corridor New York.

Watch a Colonel Failure video, and afterwards I'm qualified to be charged with involuntary manslaughter for dumping 130 passengers out the wrong side, and into the path of an oncoming freight train.

Indeed. I'm going with the defence that opening the doors on the wrong side was not an error, and that the passengers who were mown down were trying to escape an enraged Wookie when they were unwise enough to question the freshness of the sandwiches in the dining car.

I've taken Amtrak from Philadelphia to the Newark airport stop a few times in the last year to fly to Europe. That's an amazingly accurate rendition of the station....right down to the out-of-order escalators. The only thing missing was the nasty attendant at the airport shuttle gates.
I am for total accuracy, as you know. I'll provide further irate staff in the future.

the bell would typically be used when going through level crossings, entering/exiting stations, used within yard limits, anytime when doing switching or slow movements, and when going in reverse.

An engineer will ringthe bell before a train starts moving at a station, so that any railroad workers nearby know that the train is starting to move.

The Locomotive Classification is ACS-64, The Big number on the Sides of the Locomotive is the Locomotive Number.

Oh goody! The Colonel driving a train. :D I was relieved to see the cab has a way of reversing up or down the track, just in case. I did notice that none of the people waiting were looking skyward. I suppose people in New York are so used to seeing skyward vehicles that they feel they don't need to watch for them. Pretty nonchalant of them. Mr. Chewbacca at the snack window should stop the returns for certain. :) "That's a red?" But how? [sigh]

We need more train simulator, a great way to do that would be to drive a freight train from Ipswich to Stratford that is way longer than what British standards would allow for, and it has 3 locomotives

Shee, Sprinter 600 still misses the "David L. Gunn" on it. I'm surprised Dovetail has yet to put that one the model, since the real ACS-64 600 has that on the nose.

Love your vids, but you were in New Jersey not New York from the beginning to just after entering the Hudson River tunnel.
Great route. Pity about it's random speed limits. Last light went from green straight to red, iv'e never seen that.

Just don't let your kids get your credit card because Dovetail games will put your credit cards over the limit in no time.. There PC version could set you back $8,000 for all of the DLCs. There doing the same on the PS4 version. They charge $20 for new engines and a dollar a mile for tracks. A total rip off. It's sad they turned this into a money pit and not to help kids get interested in trains.. We need new engineers bad. We just don't need kids getting ripped off learning something..

In this loco, there's not doors button. And for the story if you don't know, in each car there's an agent to open and close the doors.

I've had no end of trouble with previous iterations of this. Surprise signal aspects, unannounced speed restrictions twenty-foot gaps between cars all along the train, people walking on air ( no snowmen) and walking on air across the tracks, saves that don't, loads that don't, landscapes that vanish as you drive through them..... That's page 1 of 43. Good luck, Sir. You are the right man for the job.

Bells are most commonly used whenever a train is approaching a railroad crossing, grade crossing, or level crossing, as well as approaching a station, or moving at slow speeds. They're also used to alert crews and engineers of a departing train, which is used as a warning to "move" or "board".

There isn’t a door button.. it’s a locomotive you can only get them in DMUs and EMUs
The loco is a Siemens acs-64. Also Newark airport station is very accurately modeled. I've ridden this train on one occasion

You should get hired by every train and tram company to make announcements, probably the best announcements ever.

Oh Colonel, like so many poor souls out there who didn’t know of the magic that is the TAB menu to talk to the guy who actually manages the doors.
PS: Can you please change next speed limit and signal to be HUD ONLY instead of that blasted ‘marker’ mode. It is just plain annoying.

The CSX: Heavy Haul route is freight only. Select one of the other routes for passengers. If you don't have any other routes and you're running a Windows PC you might have to open your wallet and purchase a software update.
You guys don't have cell phone towers in the UK?
We do. They're just a bit smaller and more subtle because it upsets British sensibilities to look out of your window and see a stonking great steel tower blocking your view of the countryside

Our cell towers tend to be hidden and disguised as other things, certainly the ones in cities anyway.

Its 2 short blasts to start for Amtrak Col. LMAO. Love the levity Col. Keep it up. I needed a good laugh today. Just so you know it was to much juice. Start slow and use the brake application on the throttle to slow the train and apply auto brakes(whole train) to stop. Release brakes before applying throttle. Just your American railroader offering assistance. LOL I feel bad for chewie LOL Also, YELLOW means PREPARE TO STOP!!! SLOW DOWN LMAO & Yes it is Sea-caw-cus

The reason why the train wouldnt move is because u applied too much power and the wheels were spinning all the power away.
Not so. Even on lowest power, the process is remove brake, then apply power. If you've anything over zero power with the brake still active it won't respond.
Ahh right I thought u had the brakes off. Also the bell is used for moving in yards and when under 5mph

Look at it this way, by the time you've upgraded there'll be a whole stack of routes to choose from and they may be a bit cheaper....

If the route permitted it, definitely, but it's very high detail so doesn't go the full length.
