What a very busy morning, with alot of Atlantic heavies making appearance, summer timetable starting up, lots of sun on the aircraft at Manchester Airport on this day of Saturday 22nd April 2017. Location: RWY23L (Southside) - Personally the best location at Manchester Airport. Plus quite a few bizz jets knocking around again!! Lots of A330s & 757s, Lots of RB211's!!

Hi, the easiest was to say is ' Airport Inn Hotel ' Postcode: SK9 4LR. When driving down Wilmslow Road, you will pass under both runways tunnels (from the M56 direction) after passing through both tunnels you will come to roundabout, take your first left onto Altrincham Road. Its more of a country lane. You can park there for free. Get there early to park (Limited space) very congested at weekends and holidays. Weekdays is best. This location of RWY23L, if your going for close up aircraft departures, the runway is open from 06:30-10:30am and then reopens at 13:00pm. Hope this helps.

Very nice catches, its an amazing airport for spotting. Is it possible to drive to this spotting area and park, i will be there in June?
yes there are 2 places Aviation park or airport pub ..2nd places is expensive
Cheers Jilly. Yes you can park at this Location on the lane. But make sure you get there very early to secure a parking space. Then its a short walk to this location - RWY23L. Lee is right, the Airport Pub is very expensive these days and a high fence. The Tatton Arms pub is a great location for landing shots RWY23R.

gutted never got to see the Delta 777 ..but who knows in the future :)
You never know, The Delta JFK route ends soon and Virgin will start theres. However you still might get the 777 on Atlanta rotation.
