Thankyou for your cooperation with Mark Felton's channel, nothing better than seeing footage of the time to illustrate the era rather than jumpcuts and audio splicing every interview all the network "history" programs do!
Mark Felton directed me to this channel. I have stayed for the excellent and interesting content Best wishes. I will continue to follow this channel's progress, and will enjoy seeing it grow. Cheers.
Машина построена в тяжёлое для Германии время, и показала достойные результаты, очень знаковый самолёт, легенда авиации, немецкие инженеры создали шедевр из того что было на то время доступно....
At 2:37 - SC1000 - The bomb was fitted with a single transverse fuse pocket. The bomb was usually filled with a mixture of 40% amatol and 60% TNT, but when used as an anti-shipping bomb it was filled with , a mixture of 15% RDX, 70% TNT and 15% aluminium powder. A central exploder tube of high grade TNT was put down the centre of the explosive to ensure high order detonation
this is quite amazing footage, I'm glad it survives. it's nice to see raw footage in a proper educational context. Please keep preserving whatever you find, or else it will be lost to the mist of time.
At 2:30 additional under wing bombs. Bombs: Up to 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) of bombs internally or up to 5,400 kg (11,900 lb) externally on four PVC 1006 underwing racks.
Amazing footage of those Condor attacks. The aircraft turned out to be more of a turkey than a condor, as you noted the engines were not very powerful. Also the defensive armament was weak, and reportedly the airframe was prone to split when stressed. Still a fine looking aircraft, a model of which I built way back when.
It is my understanding this was first a commercial aircraft that was developed for long range night bomber missions, don't know if any of these planes survived but some where I hear that South American countries had a few of these planes for commercial transportation but probably long gone to scrap since those days, love to own one just because, he-he
You know what always bothered me was the Germans NEVER attempted to send aircraft to help in the Bismarck's final battle!!! You'd think the FW200 would have had the range!!
As the missions of the B17 over the Pacific against Japanese ships showed, even the more sophisticated American bomb sights were unable to score hits from high altitudes. For this reason, the USA also resorted to low-flying attacks as shown here.
Although I have subscribed and liked this video about the FW-200 Condor, I found that there was information which was missing which would have been nice to have been included. For example, the number of machine guns and calibre, where there other variants of this model, etc. Also, the pronunciation of Focke Wulf should be FOK-ker, VOOLF, rather than FOK-wolf.
VERY interesting! Suggestion: would it be possible to mention both metric and USCS for the benefit of those of us can't translate meters to feet or kilograms to pounds in our heads? Again I really love your content.
In this video, you'll notice the bombing runs real suck and the firing of the machine guns on ships was most likely lacking any real damage, the plane could have been developed for formation bombing on ship harbors, railroads and enemy airfields instead of convoy targets.. He 111 were lacking formation flying to develope better fighter defense like the B-17 bombers did, oh well, mistakes like that cost victories

Nice additional information, thanks.

Nice footage, quite a good vídeo! These airplanes were vulnerable even to light machine gun fire.
Yes, I suppose that's why they specialized in nautical operations.

Interesting, I did not know that

I do my best, there is of course endless information that could be added

6:10 its no heating in cabin?
I would guess not. Did any plane have heating during the war?
Of course they did, at least the larger ones did

Until the Allied catapult fighters appeared, the Condors achieved a higher sinking rate than the U-boats. So the attacks were very successful.
