A little disappointing that this set didn't end up being very competitive considering Truthears' track record, but tbf there are a lot of solid sets in this price range nowadays. Glad to hear you're getting better now btw!
2:04 i wasn't sure "grainy," "metallic," "sheen" were words to describe unnatural treble from BA and Dynamic drivers. As a newbie, i appreciate that you're explaining these audiophile terms
Also Plasticky... The Consumer electronics wireless earbuds .... Which sound horrible because everything is digital and plasticky tuning There's no crunchy Mids and Soothing bass that fills up your chest.
Glad your feeling better! There's are better alternatives at 20-25 USD. Step up to 30-35 and there's the TRN Conch and EW200 which is already a nice upgrade.
@@JohnClarkW I can't tell much about it since I only own the EW200, but if I recall correctly it, the TRN comes with a wide array of accessories, including tuning nozzles. But considering the good reviews and the fact that it trade blows with the EW200 I think it's a valid option.
Glad to see you are better. For ultra-budget we need to tame our expectations. This is the kind of set you throw in your bag, just in case you forget your good set or if you don't want to run the risk of messing your good ones (like if you go to the beach)
I appreciate the warning on this one. I tend to like trying most budget sets, but I’m happy to hear your honest feedback on this set. Too many budget bangers to waste time and money here.
Thanks for the honest, comprehensive review with recs for like-priced peers, stating you can even get a better one from the same brand, with other options. I think you are unique that you don't gush on the Aria.
Sounding better man, great to hear. Sounds like it might be a good entry into the hobby at $20 but the $20 - $30 area have a lot of options these days.
Great review. It shows how far the iem game has gone seeing a budget iem that sounds like aria considering aria was considered one of the best back then, and at a much higher price point.
Nice to have options at the $20-30 range for some people, but spending a lil extra on your iem’s brings so much more quality at a not much higher price point
4:56 i didnt know the correlation between mid bass and female vocals. As a newbie, who also happens to listen to a lot of kpop girl groups, this is good to know 🤔😊
it's nice to see your voice getting well again, thankfully. and yeah 20$, and you recall to aria, for me it was good enough, but cheaper. not a really bass heavy lover. and simgot, i'm curious about that.
I ordered it in white, I already have the OG Hola, with this one i get a nice white cable and another budjet set for my humble collection… There is anotha budget set (30$) wich i am very curious about, the Kinera Celest Wyvern Abyss.
6:33 ah, i didnt know there is such a thing as a decay that lasts too long. As a newbie who watches a lot of reviews, i got the impression that longer decay is associated with higher resolution and microdetails 🤔
The Truthear Hola was a great budget set, but appears to be discontinued now. The Gate seems like the Hola without the bass. At that price point, I would pick either the Nuo or HBBxQKZ, depending on how much you like bass. If you like tucked bass, the KZ Castor bass is a good pick.
"...average pedestrian drive tunned in a way like Moondrop did in 2019...", I don't know why, but I can't help smiling whenever I hear your honest impressions. Thank you again.
"honest" lol yeah right. I "honestly" don't listen to a guy who can't spell "Truthear" right in the video title or first line of the description. There's no money to be made here, so time to crap all over it. That's the "honest" truth.
Pretty interesting to see something have a FR at 20$ very similar to something that cost 4 times a few years ago..... Still got better options at 20$ agreed 💯
This is what I'm waiting for, a good review as always and also nice to hear that you feel better. The IEM looks cool in white color but the sound as you said maybe I'm not gonna spend on it.
Oh, now I see it, a Topping DX9! Are you happy with it? ...I can't be more happy with mine, sleek and beautiful (though not small), but super powerful, full of features, and pretty well sounding. 👍💪
I like the see through panel, looks nice on it, but it seems like there's a lot of very fierce competition on this price. Sad that it's no better than the HOLA, their own previous budget set.
0:00 Start

0:40 Ghetto scale

2:28 BASS
4:23 Vocals

The only thing we expect from a budget IEM is improvement compared to a budget IEM released 2 or 3 years ago.
Ultra budget for sure but that’s not always a bad thing, great video man. You are starting to sound better for sure
A little disappointing that this set didn't end up being very competitive considering Truthears' track record, but tbf there are a lot of solid sets in this price range nowadays. Glad to hear you're getting better now btw!
Glad you're feeling better. Was definitely curious about this new budget release so thanks for the breakdown.

How is the TRN Conch? That set has fans, but I don't see much about it.
@@JohnClarkW I can't tell much about it since I only own the EW200, but if I recall correctly it, the TRN comes with a wide array of accessories, including tuning nozzles. But considering the good reviews and the fact that it trade blows with the EW200 I think it's a valid option.
@@marumaru5480 The Conch even has all three connectors at that price, and the tuning looks similar.
The budget IEM space is so diverse now. love it, currently rocking the wan'ers

Nowadays at 20 dollars you have approximately the same choice you had at 90 3 years ago
First time i've been "on the hype train" of a new IEM. I can see the fun aspect of waiting for the launch date and reviewers details on the product
You sound way better. Good to see the energy coming back.
Glad you feel better! No fun being under the weather. It always feels so good to be healthy again after being sick for a while. 💪
the budget IEM scene has gotten so good over the past few years
Glad you're feeling better! Truthear is still going strong.
Nice to hear that your voice is back. I can stand listening to music when I'am in this kind of state. Enjoy.
love the fact that you keep doing the sound of the drums. Its a funny part of your reviews
Back in the game!!! Great to hear that you’re getting better and better. That sickness was no joke
EW200 is $40, i think you meant EW100p. Thanks for the review.
I thought that EW200 is just expensive here in our country lol
So glad you are finally feeling better. Stay healthy. Peace.
I had waited on picking up an Hola, was hoping this would be a decent replacement. Not in love with that clear shell. Glad you are feeling better!
Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Great review. It shows how far the iem game has gone seeing a budget iem that sounds like aria considering aria was considered one of the best back then, and at a much higher price point.
Budget-friendly Aria, hmm. Good deal for fans of that tonal character. Thanks for the review man.
For 20 bucks, and sounding like Aria, I'm not consider a garbage, it's a great piece by the price
Glad you are feeling better again! Super Mix is now on my Wish List for one day.
Glad you’re feeling better!
What is the marlet leader to date in the 20$ price bracket actually? Waner? Zero 2? EW100?
Glad you're feeling better, waiting for the review of PILGRIM.
Good to hear you're feeling better! I got 2 white Gates just for the cables. I love the Hola (/Gate) cable :)
I know that the hobby requieres being constantly active in the market, but don't rush things when you are feeling down. I'm glad you are better tho ❤
As always, Much appreciate your honesty.
Nice to have options at the $20-30 range for some people, but spending a lil extra on your iem’s brings so much more quality at a not much higher price point
Glad to hear youre better, thanks for the "Hola 2" review
You're sounding a LOT better buddy. Glad you are healthy again.
Glad you're feeling better.
Nice review.
I like the honesty in your reviews. We could find better sets in the sub-30usd price range if we really want to.
Good to hear your normal voice and you're better now Chris 👍🏼
Thank you again for the honest review and not beating around the bush
4:56 i didnt know the correlation between mid bass and female vocals. As a newbie, who also happens to listen to a lot of kpop girl groups, this is good to know 🤔😊
Glad you are finally better! Thanks for the honest opinion!
Loving your videos. I only recently got into the world of IEM's and you're a wealth of knowledge! Thanks!
nice to know you're feeling better chris, this set doesn't pique my interest at all knowing i got a simgot ew200 already.
The ultra budget range, it's nice that there's still sets coming to the entry level, sad that it's not a great set but it's ok that they are trying
Expectations were low because it was an inexpensive product, but the basic equipment seems to be a wonderful product.
it's nice to see your voice getting well again, thankfully. and yeah 20$, and you recall to aria, for me it was good enough, but cheaper. not a really bass heavy lover. and simgot, i'm curious about that.
Glad you're feeling a bit better. Haven't heard about this set until today. Thanks for the review!
I think I’ll stick with my Hola. Thank you HBB.
Thank for being straightforward with us, I am kinda disappointed I was hyped for this set.
Might get it just for the looks and cable though
Nice review. Would be cool to see some of the budget companies release a true flagship
Thanks for the honest and critical review. I would still get it either way because its so cheap
Nice to hear your take on this set. Stay in good health bro
Glad to hear you're feeling better HBB. Thanks for the review.
Glad to hear you sound better, cheers!
Glad to see another great review for another ultrabudget, definitely helps some of us!
Super mix 4! gonna get it! thanks for the reviews!
Great to hear you’re feeling better. Rooting to hear your opinion on Pilgrim.

Glad you got better can’t wait for the pilgrim review
Welcome back, we are glad that your doing alot better
More budget sets lezgo!
Good to hear you’re feeling better, man
A honest review as always and happy hear that you are feeling better Chris.
Let's go! I'm loving the scale too.... Working well.
Good to hear you're feeling much better 👍🏻
Finally you sound much better!
Glad I found you. I’ve been kinda binge watching your videos for the last few days. I’m pretty new to all this iem stuff.

Thanks for always being awesome ... I trust your opinion when it comes to budget stuff ...
Like somebody else said, budget are so diverse.. loved the Wan'er, the Castor, etc...
Supermix lets go! Glad youre fine now my man.
Nice to hear that you're getting better!
I was looking forward budget release.
Thank you!
Thanks for reviewing this ultra budget set
The very specific song references are really nice
Your review really ensure me to take this out of my shortlist, thanks!
Thanks for the honest review and welcome back Chris.
I think Truthear forgot that the $20 IEM range is bigger than it was when they released Hola. Personally I'd pick Ziigaat Nuo over GATe...
Nice to hear you're doing better
I might get this set just for the cable
After this, Tangzu will be releasing their follow up to the Wan'er. The exciting sets this year really in the $300-500 range.
Pretty interesting to see something have a FR at 20$ very similar to something that cost 4 times a few years ago..... Still got better options at 20$ agreed 💯
Not sure why the Hola disappeared. Too good for the price?
A lot of ppl mention the davinci's bass is kinda good. Neat video like always.
It’s amazing. With the right source you can really see the instrument playing those bass notes.
Glad you are feeling better.
If this was supposed to replace Hola I'm disappointed.. Great review as always man!
This doesn't not replace the Hola, it is a down/sidegrade imho
Treble has to be fix I guess through EQ
This is what I'm waiting for, a good review as always and also nice to hear that you feel better. The IEM looks cool in white color but the sound as you said maybe I'm not gonna spend on it.
Good to hear you have become better man
EW200 still the budget IEM I reach for, stick it to my pocket with zero worries
Amazing quick review. Hoping you are feeling better!
Thanks for the review. I just ordered these on Saturday. I hope I enjoy them.
Glad you're doing good again dude.
Oh, now I see it, a Topping DX9!
Are you happy with it? ...I can't be more happy with mine, sleek and beautiful (though not small), but super powerful, full of features, and pretty well sounding. 👍💪
I was curious about this set. Thank you for keeping it 💯
Well, not everyone can be a winner.
Just got the Dunu Mirai a couple of days ago and I love it. Hope to still hear your thoughts on those some day.
I like the see through panel, looks nice on it, but it seems like there's a lot of very fierce competition on this price. Sad that it's no better than the HOLA, their own previous budget set.
