Sad thing is: That train was invented in Germany like 20 years ago. we still have the test track here but authorities from the german public transport said that it would be not suitable for Germany since this country is too small to get real use from this high speed. years later they worked on the next genereation of ICE trains just to make it faster. German burocracy is hell. We invent stuff and never use it.

This is not implicit for long distances. In some cases it's convenient to connect the city to the airport.
In case of munich the airport is very far away from the city center. With the S-Bahn you need over 1 hour! Yes, over 1 hour to get from the city to the munich airport. That's insane. Neverthless Munich abandoned the Maglev project for some reason.

@@alexjoshua2056 This train in particular was invented by german engineers and the first track for it was built here. The technology was sold to China then because nobody here had the plan to build it in Germany for the public transport. This is why I say that Germany is not that great when it comes to technology anymore. Why invent stuff when you never use it anyway? Many german engineers go to other countries because payment is better and possibilities are endless.

@@alexjoshua2056 i think it is fine for most chinese calling it germen train, because every importent technology for this train ist invented by germany.
it is like calling iphone as US phone, i think it is fine eventhough iphone is made in china.
what we really care is our high speed trains, they should be calling chinese trains, we indeed BOUGHT many technologies from foreign countries and improved them. At the end, we have our technology which is recognized internationally.

Any technology can remain stagnant or irrelevant to society’s needs if there is no consistent improvement on it to make it better for practicality. That’s what the Chinese did over the years since the initial maglev technology was introduced for the Pudong to airport run. Now, they have the new and improved maglev line between Beijing and Shanghai recently.

stig16 yeah, but it’s not recommended with passengers on board. It can go that fast, but the highest RECOMMENDED speed is this, because it can’t decelerate in time due to the track not being long enough.
Hypothetically, it could do this, but it would be a LOT riskier, since it would likely crash due to not having enough track to decelerate in time.

@@admirali.a.6175 That train is a German one. Originally called Transrapid 08, destined to be used at the Munich Airport to Munich Main Station or Hamburg to Berlin Line, that, oh wonder never got realised but our back then newest version of maglev train was sold to china. That Device you can see in the Video was build inbetween 1998 and 1999 in Kassel, Germany and tested at the so called "Emsland Testing Facility". Its maximum operating speed would be 550kp/h. Germany, and especially Thyssen, that holds all rights to that system together with Siemens, still provides aid to the chinese. The idea is 88 years old, also patented by a German named Hermann Kemper in the year 1934. That technology was done research for especially and first with serious attempts in Germany from 1969 onwards. The Transrapid-Series, of which the one in Shanghai is one, started with a shown line at the Hamburg fair amidst the 70s with a destined operating speed of at least and already 200km/h.
China is not allowed to sell it, since its a licensed product provided by Germanys Companies, such as Thyssen and Siemens, that hold the rights to it.
China didn´t buy the technology they got just licences for the more unnecessary parts of it. The train shown in the video is a German Transrapid 08, build in 1999 in Kassel, Germany, no chinese engineer had build this one and their attempts to rebuild the German original resulted in failings, mainly. They´re not allowed to sell the technology since Germany still holds the rights to all of the technology. But one "fun"fact: In Germany it was sabotaged, in China it runs under the advice of a German-Chinese consortium for nearly 20 Years now. F*ck you GREENS!!! More on: www.magnetbahn.org!
