So amazing your performance is. Brought tears to my eyes to see a young performer like yourself putting your whole heart into this golden standard, paying the highest respect to this art form!
All of me, why not take all of me? Baby, can't you see, I'm no good without you? Take my lips, I'll never use them Take my arms, I want to lose them Your goodbye left me with eyes that cry Tell me how can I go on, dear, without you? You took the part that once was my heart So why not take all of me? All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see I'm no good without you? Take my lips, I want to lose 'em Take my arms, I'll never use them Your g-g-goodbye left me with eyes that cry How can I go on, dear, without you? You took the part that once was my heart So why not take all of me? Come on and take, take all of me
@@GSP63852 of course one must learn from the masters, listen to them and try to understand, what they have done, but one must concentrate on building up one's own individual thing instead of trying to be a perfect copy ...
@@AugustinLehfuss Patrick Bartley says you have to learn how to copy someone in order to improvise. If you search up a video of jimmy Rainey teaching a masterclass he shows the different ways musicians improvise and proceeds to improvise a line in the style of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, etc. Emulation is a key step to improvising that too many people try to skip.
Can't imagine the amount of work! So impressive!!

great singing - but why don't you do your own solos? that's well done, but just a copy ....
You don't learn jazz by doing your own solo.

This was an assignment lmao😂 Of course I can scat on my own, but learning other people’s solos is a great challenge. Thx for the pointer, though. 🙃
