I appreciate it! It's really just me but my friends (& even some strangers) definitely help me out Alot with the Multi camera footage. Just trying to put out the highest quality footage I can, still got a ways to go though 🫡.
Both bands were good and had great moments. I like MMB’s arrangements, overall balance and execution. At times New Orleans volume with the Baritones and French Horns overshadowed the trumpets in different pieces. Then later in some of the pieces it would come together. The Baritones in Set Fire to the rain weren’t strong playing those moving rhythms in the beginning that has to come out because it sets the tone. I like the chording that Memphis did with the Tubas in that selection and when in some of their breaks the woodwinds got some shine. That Spider-Man was real slick. I also like how when they were confident New Orleans turned up the volume in certain measures of their music. Good battle but Memphis was better.
Memphis sound was just more precise to me. Im from New Orleans. They had the edge, but New Orleans was not far off. Hey the win in the end is keeping the band Culture alive and making it grow. The whole event was a success at that.

Last I checked the stand rounds haven't been posted. What I heard from people on the ground was that the field battle was pretty even and that Memphis got walked down in the stands.
Naw, Memphis smoked them Then NOASB tried to have their security make MMB leave while NO was still playing. They knew Memphis was gonna play them out the stands. They repeated a song 3 times at the end because they ran out of book. And Burga was on his live talking about we had a bunch of high schoolers and middle schoolers. Sounds like an excuse to soften an L
Trumpets made a good comeback from against GAMB as well as btones, but MMB’s combination of winds and arrangements might give them an edge. Plus, they got some power but not enough to match the Juggernaut. Arrangement wise and with more trumpets from MMB, they might have a slight dub. If that happens, I don’t mind at all, as long as we were 2nd behind MMB. However, we did NOT get smashed so easily and I’m from NOASB.
Memphis with the slight edge over Noasb. Noasb trumpets need milk. Can only hear them at the end of phrase or when they playing alone. Liked song selection and arrangements from Memphis better. Still waiting on stand clips

I think Memphis won this. I think what held NOLA back was there trumpets. Nola trumpets need help and alot of the time couldn't be heard unless on tag notes or the end of the song when they had to hang over. If they had some more monsters on trumpet. It would be a different story. But Memphis had more musical arrangements also. But good battle.
Good battle, I got Memphis pretty clearly here. NOASB was nice, it once again, like the last two matchups, came down to music selection. Memphis has probably had the best book this season, and that's because they're playing and executing recognizeable music that people know and can sing/groove to. It's definitely something to learn from being a student arranger. If there isnt anything else going on this summer, I'm hoping the energy from here carries on into the season for the band world as a whole.
The field show was kinda dead for both bands...low energy...expectation over hyped...maybe both bands were tired from destroying Gamb (THE BEAST) ..I'm just saying
Deontae needs to teach Memphis trumpets to play relaxed and with the head over the spine for the most resonance(body resonance and horn resonance) the torso shouldn’t bend and the sound should stay straight. Even when you bend your knees the upper body/posture should stay straight and centered. Dude screams with great technique and doesn’t move when he plays. They’d be much louder and they’d sound better.
Memphis had better tone quality and balance overall, both trumpets were overshadowed a fair bit but Memphis trumpets cut through at more times during high points and were a lot more present than Nola’s trumpets during their features, were more in tune in the higher register, and had better cuz offs, Memphis trombone chords also were coming through alot more and had really good trombone breaks, euphos were pretty much neck and neck each having their own strong points over the other, mellos pretty even, Nola’s were more present but they are the biggest section in they band so that makes sense, Memphis had a woodwind presence and Nola had none for obvious reasons, that being said I had the score 3-2 because I felt Nola Nola had the stronger opening round and memphis’ 5th round, all be it a good feature that showed diversity we don’t typically see in mass band, wasn’t the best choice at that particular time

Yes. Nola drug them in the stands. Memphis played a song in the stands that should have never left the bandroom where the tubas messed up and the trombones were out of sync on their solo. And New Orleans had waaaay more power.

Both bands sounds amazing! I'm gonna give it to New Orleans. Memphis strategy was to primarily play ballads really drug down the energy of the battle. The tunes sounded good but This is a BATTLE not a slow drag competition. NOASB definitely got the crowd, because the crowd wanted to hear power, high energy, and rap tunes not a bunch of oldies that most of the crowd have no idea about.
Really did like that drake that felt like that aggressive Memphis to me but everything else was conservative on the field i don't understand that strategy smh

I still say i liked NOASB's energy and Song selections Better. for me i thought it would be a closer battle. NOASB need more trumpets and better trumpet placement. MMB had a more balanced sound and they were smart with their set up to make sure their B-tones and Mellos don't over power their weaker sections of Tbones and trumpets. The beginning of "Strung out over you" was something dangerous in the beginning, but after that tubad break down, it died. It had great potential but didn't keep the same energy as in the beginning.The ending was horrible imo.. Over all, MMB was more balanced, but i didn't care for their song selections. I think they should have saved Search and rescue for the Stands. I liked NOASB's energy and song selection better. New Orleans Watched the crowd reactions. The crowd wanted High energy and NOASB gave them that. You should always know your audience and what to play for said audience. That's my Opinion, but to each their own.

This battle is tough. I liked Memphis musicianship slightly a little bit better but I do like noasb playbook for the field. Noasb needs trumpets bad and mmb needed they songs called in a little better placement they lost energy at times. Tough battle to call here. I feel like lean noasb but I’d almost call it a tie as well, this one lowkey kinda disappointed on the field at least
