Yewww looks unreal mate! Absolutely love this recipe so simple and easy to make. Nailed it with the extra salt forgot to mention I usually salt each slice just before eating makes the whole thing pop! Our Bonito is basically a mackerel aswell so perfect fish for it. Glad you enjoyed it!
As a South Aussie fisho, blows me away how close other boaters come to you up in QLD. You would have a sinker to the boat here in SA!
Well done brother! Stoked ya managed to get one that morning!
Definitely going to give this a crack! Looks delish! 🤤
Ahoy hoy
Mate I love this one we always make it!
Cheers Blake, good to see you out the mate🤙
@@josh.bollendefinitely giving it a crack!! 🤤
No way would I go into where the sharks live on one of those! They could use it as a toothpick after they’re finished with you! 😂 🦈
It's -50 C here in Canada today, This video is just what I needed to pretend it's not a frozen hellscape! Love the vids, Keep it up Rod!
I read the first line of your statement I had to go put on sweatpants. Just reading that almost gave me frostbite!!!!
Im in Wisconsin...that stuff is supposed to creep down here by Saturday night...stay warm brother🔥🍺
@@stucook8622 ty!!!!!!!
Damn global warming 😁
I was just about to comment the same thing! Teleport us to somewhere tropical
Fox feeding the family!! What a champ👍✌️🎣😊
You really have gotten great at framing your shots because more and more I see the thought you put in your editing your cutaways are great shots. Thank you for your storytelling as well and really making us part of the adventure. Cheers from Texas. PS got my first kayak because of your videos!
Yessss , have been hanging for yak vids and that cook up 😍
That's how you do it everything fresh good job
From Quebec Canada. Je vous ai connu par vos videos de pêche en kayak et c'est vraiment ma préférence, vos meilleurs pêches sont faites en kayak vraiment.
was thinking that beach looked familiar, hope you enjoyed Palmy!
Great stuff Rod, the classic kayak vid still a favourite!!
Saturday morning here in Canada and dead of winter....Love to watch you fidh and cook in the sunshine !
Wow! It's 800 am in Washington state USA but I could eat that now for breakfast!! Great job! Cleaver looks fun too!
I love when it's cloudy and rainy like that. For 1 it keeps people at the dock 😂. But 2 the fish are less spooky. Ok the East Coast of the USA the best bluefin tuna fishing I've found is when it's kind of crappy out. I feel like they stay closer to the surface. When is sunny and clear I've found they swim allot deeper.
Hey Rod, started watching seems a couple yrs ago now. Your vids have really come along, remember when started where all mostly boating, fishing and small Isle camping trips showing your prepping,, cooking or not, the catch of the day. 😊enjoy watching 👍
Love a Saturday morning sesh with Rod🎉
Shoutout to the Mirage with roof racks! Love seeing a fellow tiny car with a yak on top :D
(top video and adventure as always too)(and I am forever in love with you dispatching by pithing, rather than suffocation)
So glad you enjoyed the link I sent you when you were aging the fish that time rod. I thought you would be interested in the fish butcher at the time. Also love your kayak missions they are my favourite! Those jet skis just about ruined all of the fun! Keep up the epic journey mate enjoying every minute of it🤙
Great video Rodney. Congrats for breaking the skunk streak!
I think that's the longest paddle out I've seen you have to do.
Nice work Rod, fish, yummo😊
Old skool! Good to see you out on the kayak again!
Looks like a hell of a day out, and a pretty bangin cookup after, nice one mate! Tight lines as ever
Looked busy out there! Clever is nice! Will try that recipe on a mack. Thanks.
Love the cleaver. Great kitchen tool and a great example made there by Will. Great video mate. Keep them coming.
I can't even stand the taste of fish, but your dishes always look so appetizing
It's been a few years now, this is my favorite routine on a long, cold winter night watching you fish your home waters in a kayak, enjoying your summer. I love fishing on rainy days, even snowy days, the fishing is usually pretty good. But our summer thunderstorms often bring crazy wind and lightning so it can be a double edge sword. Always enjoy your vids, thanks and take care.
Cleaver needs a (small) round edge up front😅😅 Happy seeing u happy Rod...Brilliant lunch...#goals💙
Your videos inspire me and many others to make life an adventure :). Every time I watch your newest upload, it's a reminder of why we do what we do.
Right On! One and Done!
Watching this after shoveling 11 inches of snow, warms my toes.🎉 hello from twin lakes Wisconsin.
Rod, you look great with the haircut! The toast on the grill looks yummy. I don't eat raw fish, but I imagine even cooking it after marinating it in such a simple brine would render a delightful meal. 🎣
Saturday morning and finally some patches of blue sky on the goldy 🎉. I hope ray enjoyed his lunch 😀
He is a well fed cat😁
@@rokkitkit Rod i got 2 brand new fish / meat cooking wire cages for cooking over coals , may be good for your island trips ? There yours if you like no charge ..look at it as a thankyou gesture for the great content you put out..they are no use to me..let me know if you'd like them buddy 😉
Coming back from a month in Thailand, tried some fishing here but no luck! At least I can watch you catch some fish on my 22 hour flight back to Chicago!
Righteous recipe 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡👍💪🎣
Nice to catch up Rod!
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Really 🥶 -15 C this morning...I spilled water in my truck ...it froze on the floor
🎉😂❤ warmed up to-11 C
Starting to cool off.
Sun low in the sky dark soon
I'm so jealous of this weather (yes even the rain)... we have -30C outside here in Finland and I'm inside waiting for the spring :) or at least a bit warmer temperatures to go ice fishing... Nice catch!
Hey Rod good to see you out there and with a nice catch. Hope you and your family enjoyed the holidays. Aloha from Kansas
Great to see you out on the kayak again. I look forward to seeing troll camera footage. It was good before, so really excited to see what is possible.
Love the catch and cook vids cheers 🍻
Great fish, great video, great job!! You never disappoint Rod!! Happy New Year to you and the family XOXOX
yes a kayak vid very nice!!....peace out
Yeah, love the yak vids man, seems like you had a crew to go out with that day, all the yak folks were there. I wonder hanging the fish in the fridge? Does dry the flesh a bit which make it good but did you do that just for this recipe or a regular thing? Seen you usually wrap them in that cling wrap. Cheers man, good day
Looks bloody delicious!
unreal Rod ...my fave herb with fish is Tarragon .... maybe try that next time ,cant wait till you catch a real lump see you soon
School of mackies off the kayak gets those arms burning for sure mate, nice work!
Another great video of visuals! BTW no matter your hairstyle, it always works. ❤🎉👍🏻
Not so sure.I will change mine to see if I catch more fish😹😹😹
I cant believe how many boats are out there, that's hectic
Thanks
Thanks for the support mate👍
Very handy spidey 🕷️ 🔪 👍👍
The Natives in Alaska, do pickled fish with salmon, and it's delicious. They can it with onions, a little garlic, some jalapeño pepper, and a slight salty, vinegar solution without the oil. Kept in the fridge for a couple weeks before it's ready to eat.
Delicious 👌
Best vid today for me much luck ppl
Warning!!!
Gurl comment...love the cut.
I'm all over trying the marinating. The cleaver has my name all over it.
Blessings sent for you and the fam Rod.
Thank you,
K.T.
I like the watch Rod!
So good. 🔅⛅🌙🏕️
Cheers mate 👍
Mate another great video good too see you back on the yak is that a new stealth hasn't got your mark on the front
Great Video mate!! Keep up the awesome content :)
Do they not do kosher salt down unda? Generally flakey sea salt is used for finishing after cooking. Kosher salt might be a better option for all of your other salting needs.
Hey brother LOVE the videos! Especially the catch and cooks! Just letting you know, keeping Olive Oil in a dark tinted glass bottle keeps it from going rancid as light exposure accelerates the aging process quite significantly. Unless you're storing that clear bottle in a dark place, in which case I'll shut up.
Love the combover mate 😂😂
Good stuff rod did you take those wheels back to your car
Hey Rokkit, is that Magic Mountain in the background??
Conditions looked good considering the storm that hammered us on Xmas day. Some years ago I was surfing with my 2 sons one early morning just where you launched. A bait ball came to the surface a few metres from us and was suddenly hit by a half a dozen sharks. Talk about an incentive to vacate the surf!
Looks good! We have terrible weather here, otherwise I'd be out fishing too.
Thanks for another great video Rod! Cheers 🍺
Fishing is always the best when the weather is bad. at least where I live
Yea I definitely had some of my best fishing on overcast and stormy days👌
Good to see the TH-camr called "That Kayak Fisho" is still getting around. Haven't seen any content from him for a while. :)
I’m still around brother, I’m creepin while your sleepin haha 🤙🏻
@@ThatKayakFisho Good to see the Joker is still around.
Hey man, I'm moving to the GC with my fiance for work! First thing I'll do is buy your merch haha!
Broheme…hello from N California. Love your vids.
back to basics love it !
Rain = low pressure. Low pressure = good fishing
What kind of fish you can use this cooking method with as well? Any white fish?
soo good to be on the kayak!!
Thanks Rod, I'm giving that a go this weekend
Good luck mate👍
That looks delicious could eat that everyday 👍🏻
Thanks for another great video! Where did you get that knife? that thing is great!
When did the cook happen? Toasting the bread? Was a catch and prepare.
Nice! 🎉 Happy new year
Was happy bieng a beer batter man till i saw this ...dam that looked tasty .. nice one rod .🤤👍
Too many good things to try😁
Evening Rod! Love the channel ❤ Heh.
Another great video
Hey rod, wicked vid as always, for the bust-ups on the surface with the mackerel schools I was wondering why you don't use some topwater lures or even some shallow divers? There's a couple good lures out there that are ideal for that sort of fishing, and especially when they're smashing like that on the top it seems like the ideal and fun tactic to use! Would be good to see you using some topwaters and such at some point, just because some of the takes are absolutely epic. Thanks for the great video and keep it up!
More salt and some sugar next time Rod you won’t regret it, I like to add a squeeze of lemon too.
Hi man ..which Stealth model is that one? ..Im thinking of getting one for spearing and fishing ..watching & learning
Great video again Rod!
16:00 have to give it a pause ..
the fish: wow that is hussain bolt of the baitfish.. non stop 😝
Great video mate
is there a specific type, or recommendations for a kayak to take it out into the ocean?
Rokkin' it Rod! Would love you to come over the border and do some Ballina / Evans Head vids!
Yea I’ve always wanted to put some time in down that way for sure 👍
Which Stealth paddle are you using?
Wow lovely
Looking delicious 😋 ❤
Marvelous stuff, love your work. Tell you what, those droplets of water on the lens as you were launching really show how good the image stabilization is on your cameras.
Yea I was looking back at some older vids the other day and almost found them unwatchable because of the shake.
Its almost like you're a pro😁. I'm just south of Mackay, about 200m from a boat ramp so if you ever need somewhere to keep the car on a trip would be happy to help.
hey rokkit did you scale your mackie or just as is
Love your work mate
I'm looking for a Mount for my speargun to put my gopro and and I would love to know what kind of mount you would recommend
Awesome 👍👍
Old school sesh with Rod. Like.
