Really? could you please tell me where´s the greek match in euro2004 with more than 23 attempts? Portugal never won anything being such a great team..finally they learn how to win. Also Portugal dont have the same talented teams from 2000-to 2010..they created a good strategy for this tournament playing for the results knowing well their own limits and studying the other teams.
This Euro we might have had a team that had less chances, but on the other way around we have the best defense, Pepe and Patricio were spotless, not to forget Fonte and Raphael Guerreiro
hjklm gfdsq Wow, that's harsh! If you wanted to compare Portugal to a defensive team, why not comparing them to Italy? It's much less offensive and it matches Portugal's individual talent quite well...
When Spain/Portugal/France was good, they lost, when they play like Greece in 2004, they win, that's my philosophy now. If only the Dutch understood that, they should have 3 world cups now.
i think England was never favorite in anything XD since i'm alive i have never see them doing anything great, they do have the best League but National team always fails
England are always the favourites for international tournaments the way the Toronto Maple Leafs are always the favourites to win the Stanley Cup -- in their own fans' minds but not in any rational person's!
England really should have won the Euros in 2004 and the World Cup in 2006 if you go by the quality of the players, the first XI was top drawer. Both times though Rooney (when he was still a top player and had the pace of youth) was injured or coming back from injury and unfit. Sadly for England football is not played on paper and you have to actually form a cohesive team. We never did that at the time and I think it was a mixture of three things. Too many games in the Premier League, the players arrived at the finals completely knackered. Players like Joe Cole and Paul Scholes being played out of position, Gerrard and Lampard incompatible in the middle and Sven unable/unwilling to take the difficult decisions. If you're seriously telling me the ageing Italy team in 2006 that won the WC had better players than Ferdinand, Terry, Lampard, Cole, Gerrard, Rooney, Scholes all at their peak you're deluded. We massively underachieved.
I think you'r wrong in you'r analises, those were good players, but they never really proved anything besides being good, Portugal team for example, in 2004 had 8 or 9 players that had just been awarded, champions league winners, we had Luis Figo and Cristiano ronaldo, 2 ballon d'or awarded, we had deco and rui costa, 2 of the best number 10 at they'r times, if anything Portugal had way better players then England or any other national team at 2004, in 2006 we made it to the semis, unfortunatly we lost against France, with a mistake i believe, but ou well, we got ou'r revenge this year :P
Definitely one to rmbr. The fact that Ricardo saved Portugal by saving a penalty with no gk gloves and scoring the final penalty👍🏼Now that's what I call true commitment.
Nerdy question here: does anybody remember how portugal lined up after the regular time? Miguel had been taken off for Rui Costa, Costinha for Simao and Figo for Postiga. As we can see in some passages, Simao, Ronaldo and Nuno Gomes were up front, while Rui Costa, Postiga and Maniche came from behind, so... was Deco playing defense? I can hardly imagine Scolari playing with just 3 in the back for the whole extra time in such a crucial game. Thanks in advance :')
it was the most epic and dramatic game I ever seen and experienced, euro 2004 was so amazing for us except for the ending but at least we got our deserved win 12 years later :)
It wasn't deserved at all. No way should Portugal have been allowed to avoid playing Italy Spain Belgium & Germany before lifting the trophy, especially when they finished bottom half of their weak group, rewarded for failure. Euro2004 is not a good example of deserving a trophy, Portugal lost TWICE to GREECE!! Portugal basically lost half of their games as hosts especially if you count SolCampbell's goal which there was nothing wrong with.
I'm sure that this is top 3 greatest match I've ever seen since 1990. This time I was university student. England had been great squad since couple years ago and Ronney just showed up. Portugal also Cristiano Ronaldo and Deco joined with Golden Age. This game had been really exciting since first. Owen scored first. C.Ronaldo was facing on A.Cole whole game. Massive middle by Rui Costa and equalizing by Lampard. Last moment, Ricaldo took the gloves off made me laugh. Whatever, That was wonderful game.

This is what makes us Portuguese people proud, we might be a small country but we surely have lots of big moments just like this one
what a game, rui costas bomb, simao was such a fine player
Figo, Rui Costa, Deco -- what a group of orchestrators.
That was a painful night back in 04 😭
After France vs Portugal at the euro cup final in 2016, this one is the game of my life. So much memories.
One of the most emotional games I ever saw on live tv!
Sol's disallowed goal was an absolute disgrace
Portugal used to be such a great team. At least they're winning now. They literally became Greece, ironically.
Really? could you please tell me where´s the greek match in euro2004 with more than 23 attempts? Portugal never won anything being such a great team..finally they learn how to win. Also Portugal dont have the same talented teams from 2000-to 2010..they created a good strategy for this tournament playing for the results knowing well their own limits and studying the other teams.
You mean 2000-2012, we were pretty good in 2012 as well. But were champions now. It's awesome.
This Euro we might have had a team that had less chances, but on the other way around we have the best defense, Pepe and Patricio were spotless, not to forget Fonte and Raphael Guerreiro
hjklm gfdsq
Wow, that's harsh! If you wanted to compare Portugal to a defensive team, why not comparing them to Italy? It's much less offensive and it matches Portugal's individual talent quite well...
Santos gets his dick hard when he sees a 1-0 match
Anyone here after watching Oh My Goal
Huzaifah Patel yep
Yeppp
😁✌️
Hahahaha yeah
Yep
I'll always remember portugal's fans reaction to Beckham's penalty miss
Nunca se ha visto, ni se verá algo similar a lo de Ricardo. Impresionante e Histórico
ı loved that ball desing roterio so much better than nowadays design
Postiga had swag here, never lived up to it
Ricardo's penalty save was stunning.
Gloves are for pussies
Probably in 26 years of life this is one of the best matches i ve ever seen.
Great goal from Postiga!
When Spain/Portugal/France was good, they lost, when they play like Greece in 2004, they win, that's my philosophy now. If only the Dutch understood that, they should have 3 world cups now.
Spain like Greece?
@@sobrevalorado Yeah, in 2010.
England: always favourite, lost against Portugal in Euro 2000, Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006. Go figure.
England was never the favourite in those games.
i think England was never favorite in anything XD since i'm alive i have never see them doing anything great, they do have the best League but National team always fails
0:35 amazing goal from Owen
I know, not really seen much better
Nerdy question here: does anybody remember how portugal lined up after the regular time? Miguel had been taken off for Rui Costa, Costinha for Simao and Figo for Postiga. As we can see in some passages, Simao, Ronaldo and Nuno Gomes were up front, while Rui Costa, Postiga and Maniche came from behind, so... was Deco playing defense? I can hardly imagine Scolari playing with just 3 in the back for the whole extra time in such a crucial game. Thanks in advance :')
Deco was the right back in ET
Prob maniche. Postings was a forward and rui Costa a 10.
it was the most epic and dramatic game I ever seen and experienced, euro 2004 was so amazing for us except for the ending but at least we got our deserved win 12 years later :)
What the heck is John Terry doing at 1:15? He sees his man, lets him go, then doesn't bother jumping to challenge for the cross.
One of my favorite moments in Euros
My favorite game of all time
Absolutely amazing game and win for Portugal
I remember this game. Was really fun
Best Euro game of the 2004 tournament by far
England had some of the most entertaining knock outs from competition between 1998 and 2004.
I love Portugal. Portuguese are beautiful people. A stunning goal from ari Costa, amazing Portuguese team❤❤❤
Puuuke
Sheer pleasure...my lord, I love it when England gets to a penalty shoot-out.
That strike by rui costa. wow
this is the ball we used to play with as kids. memories..
Feel sad for Portugal, not winning this Euro2004 competition!! I think , they were overconfident, against Greece in both games.
Ricardo the best goalkeeper ever...
Euro 2004 was my wet dream. Seeing Figo and Ronaldo playing together was THE s***
What a great pen from Ricardo
Ricardo also played part of beating England again in 2006 World Cup. i’m sure he’s remember in England.
