ahahah okay i tallied, 30+ times you said it no joke! ahahaha XD i think this piece is beautiful! and regardless of what you think I'm glad you shared it with us!! also maybe you could re do it another day to achieve the look you want :))
Can you please do A How to draw and paint eyes using watercolour. (I struggle a lot to draw even eyes and I absoulutely have no idea how to draw closed eyes so I really need your help) Thank You!! I Love you so so much ❤❤❤ A Milion xoxo!!
I always appreciate when artists show work they aren't proud of, it helps put the whole art journey in perspective. Thank you, btw I like how it turned out.
Thank you so much for your candor. I'm an oil painter of many years who developed an allergy so after trying acrylics and not liking the drying time, I tried watercolor... nooooo... my brain would not transition. Now I work with gouache but in an oil painter style desiring to get away from watercolor thinking. What I recommend is watching oil painter videos because that's the best approach to gouache. Oils never dry during the working phase so rewetting and blending gouache ON the ground is crucial as I see it. Also the first goal is to totally cover the ground so no white shows. This way one won't be tempted to fall into watercolorist habits. The brain has no choice but to transition to opaque. I hope this helps at least a little.
Pat Kin James Gurney uses gouache, he is the author/artist of Dinotopia, he is also a good teacher. He has a channel here as well as dvd's. He uses many and all painting mediums and he does answer questions on his videos so you may find him helpful. I saw that he used a gouache that was in a pan palette, Caran d'Ache, in one of his videos so I bought a set, much better as far as setting up and travel with them or sharing with my grandkids(non toxic) .
Thanks Farmwife. I haven't used any gouache made in pans but I do pour my tube paint (M Graham mostly) into pans. I first did so to travel as I don't like taking tubes and it works just fine. They are only one or two pigments hard to wet but just soak a bit longer. I think I'm subbed to JG.
I have this same set and it's the first gouache I've ever worked with. I've had a lot of fun using it so far, but it's good to know that it behaves a bit differently than higher quality gouaches. I might have to upgrade to a nicer set once I'm more comfortable with the medium!
Literally so relatable. I bought some gouache and was very eager to start creating all these phenomenal pieces and then I started to paint and I realized I sucked lmao. Only tried it twice and put it away for a month because I was ready to give up. After watching your video I’m definitely inspired to start up again.
Congrats on the 10k!!!! You work so hard and you deserve so many more~ I love the painting and I can see where you feel uncertain about things, I think coming back to it in a week or a month will allow you to see what you could add to it to make it officially finished. Maybe make a video about "fixing" a gouache painting if you want to! And for the Q&A: What inspired/motivated you to paint skin with "rainbow colors" instead of typical skin tone colors? 💕
What is your favorite brand of watercolors? What is your favorite thing to draw/paint? What are your favorite brushes? If you could make art like any other artist who would it be? Love you even if you don’t like that piece it is still beautiful and your hard work shows❤️
This brand is what made me take painting more seriously.i dont know if its the nostalgia talking but i absolutelylove this brand .i prefer it better to their water color line.thank you for this feview :3
Thanks for sharing this video that reassures us all that struggling is part of the process. In my case, I seem to process a lot lately ! I agree with you about Marie's gouache. Her watercolors were disappointing to me too in that they are pretty opaque, which I later learned is the style of eastern watercolors but not something I liked. I gave them all away as I find it so much more enjoyable to surround myself with stuff I love and look forward to using often.
painting skin with gouache is something I have yet to figure out... It was great to watch you paint!! I loved this video and now I'm off to watch more of them!
How did you get started your drawing? What was your first experience with watercolour? Can you do a Sketching tutorial? What is your "hands down" Favourite pallete and Brush? Love you~😍
Did you go to art school? If you did, we're did you attend? And what did you major in? If not, do you regret not going or are you glad you didn't go? Love you!!!❤❤ congrats!!!
Congratulations on 12k followers, im so proud of u! I'm really glad u were able to finish this piece and be relatively happy with it. Im kinda going through a similar experience were im not very happy with some of the choices i made. However, i plan on finishing it today and i think it looks pretty good considering! Regarding the Q&A: 1. Have u ever tried different styles with ur art? and 2. Whats ur least favorite medium?
1.At what age do u recommend to start art channel for making carriers 2.who is your inspiration artist 2.pls tell how to grow up as a beginner in art carrier 3 what's your favourite medium 4.where are you from Love Ur art God bless you
Congratulations on, now, 11,000 subscribers! Aaah, your art is gorgeous and I don’t have any questions, but just wanted to say that I love your content and it really brightens my day!
I just got this set too! And also like you did an art piece didn't like it and have put away the paints. I'll try again this weekend to practice! Thank you for the video!
You are lovely, and congrats on 10k!!! ❤️ this inspired me to pick up gouache and try it out. I am blown away by your vulnerability and willingness to use a less-liked piece as a teaching experience. I loved the piece and thought it turned out beautifully, and I could listen to you talk all day!! ❤️❤️ also, congrats on Jazza featuring your Skillshare class! I love that class and have learned so much from you. Much much love! Xo 💕
how long did it take you develope your style? what's the most important lesson you've learned as an artist ? and would you consider yourself good at art?
Congrats on the now 11K subscribers! I don't think anyone has to please anyone but themself with their art (unless of course you are a professional/working on commission), but I have to say that I liked this piece at the end of your First session! Somehow all those crazy skin tones looked wonderful in my eyes.
ive only ever used acrylic until very recently i picked up some watercolor just to see if it's changed since grade school lol...I really don't LOOOOVE either medium and thought 'now if i could just mix the good attributes of them both, we'd be in business' ...annnnd then I stumbled on your video about gouache,. Normally I'd be put off by how underwhelmed you are about the medium and the fact that you rush through once you get frustrated BUUUUT not here..it's perfect to be able to see what an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL medium it is..even the cheap stuff. just..wow. I'm so freakin excited right now. I think I'm going to get a few different brands..I just can't even right now. .....I hope you kept with it..I think your style really could shine in a big way with gouache. the possibilities are endless.
It happened the same to me the first time using gouaches! I was traying using them as watercolors, it takes me a little time to get used and I had to try to work in a different way with them, but I definitely loved them :3
I genuinely feel so bad seeing you struggle with this painting.😩 I know the frustration and slight desperation of trying to fix a piece that's just not going the way you want. Never give up!❤
My cousin who takes art school told me to beware of Marie's stuff ....welp Least you got to show that its doable 83 Questions: What are your favorite subjects to draw? Not a question-- congrats on 10k subs uwu
ah I really love Marie's gouache, actually! What's your absolute favorite watercolor and gouache brand, separately? Do you have any siblings or pets? Do you prefer Arteza or Canson XL watercolor paper? It seems like Arteza has a super prominent weird tractor texture. Did you like that?
Congrats on the 10k! You’re doing a great job 😉 A have a few questions. 1) What is your favorite material? And which one would you like to try? 2) Do you have any pets? ☺️☺️
I keep trying to pick up my gouache and it was really helpful to hear you talk through your process from beginning to end (over thinking to looser). Do you find using different size/shape/type of paint brushes with gouache vs what you use for watercolor is helpful? I'm starting to think I should try to use brushes in my collection that I typically wouldn't use as much (flat or filbert instead of rounds) for gouache to help me break the habit of trying to use it like watercolors.
You give some really great advice in this video, I don’t use gouache but I know that this video will help someone to maybe learn some tips on how to work with a new medium. I still really like this painting even though it may have been a struggle for you.
Congratulations! A few of your videos popped up on my feed and I've been really enjoying your content!! My question is have you ever been to art school? Do you think it is necessary for learning stuff or an artist could figure out everything by its own? Congratulations again!!
I love your energy so much!! Honestly, you make me smile, your voice is soothing and you're very good at what you do here. It's very helpful and i'm super grateful for your videos. I enjoy them. I've never used gouache before i was thinking i'd never use it but your pieces are pretty inspiring and i feel like i really will try gouache in the future, you know, after i get a lot more comfortable with watercolor. By the way, sure you struggled with this piece but I think it turned out beautiful and I really love how you didn't quit and still posted the video. Your art and your process is so pure. Thank you for it! AND last but not least. My Questions! 1. How did you start out with drawing and painting? BY that i mean, What inspired you to start? When did you start? and how did you start? Were you drawing first then started to paint? What made you continue? and secondly 2. How is your current mental health? Are you doing okay? :) I know those are a lot of questions but, i just really wanna know how you're doing. And i am eager to know more about your journey with your art. Thank you!
Oh my gosh, your comment is so very much appreciated. It means so much to me that you took the time to type all of this out with such sincerity and care. Thank you, most sincerely.
Questions! How old are you? Are you a full-time artist? If so, how do you feel your journey towards that has been, just in that I now art is a field where everyone has their own story and it'd be cool to know yours. Your videos really inspire me to paint more, usually just watercolour but these gouache ones are really making me reconsider my terror or gouache. Have a good day and thanks!
I get that all the time where I need to leave my art and come back to it D: A lot of times I overthink it and it goes terribly. For the Q&A I have a few: did you go to art school? is art your main occupation? and what is your favourite medium/art supplies
Congratulations on 10k subs! That's so fantastic! I think this piece turned out better than you're giving yourself credit for, and the hair and leaves are definitely the highlight for me. I really hate that struggle when things don't want to work out how you want them too, though, so I totally understand your frustrations with it!
I'd love a video where you repaint this piece rethinking some decisions. I don't find it as bad as you describe, but we can definitely feel some struggle...I appreciate you sharing also your less successful experiences! Thanks! And about the question, I'd love to know what's your favorite piece you ever painted. :) ✨✨✨♥️
i really do love seeing struggles tho! it makes me feel not so alone in the bad art days. and CONGRATS on 10k!! your energy is wonderful and v fun and exciting which is what personally made me subscribe! what made you want to try gouache at first?
What steps did you take to become more confident with your art? And if this is already answered, then what are some products you want beginners to stay away from so they don't get discouraged easily? Hope you're doing well, keep up the amazing work!
So I have a question, I'm a tiny art TH-camr, and I was hoping for some tips on how to grow my channel? Also how do you edit your videos? Also I LOVE this piece!
When did you realize art is your passion?/Is art your full career?/ and if so how did you go about that? because I wanna make art my career so,/ What are some pointers you have to do so?
I'm re-watching this video and wait what your set also came with the weird Mauve Violet tube (and it's only 10 ml if I remember correctly instead of 12)?
As usual, your art turned out beautifully! 💕Everytime I watch your videos, I’m like I wish I could paint like this. :) I like what you said about using a reference photo. Maybe that’s my problem... I always focus and stress too much about getting my art to look exactly like the reference photos. I think it’s nice to have realistic art when using graphite pencils but I want to be able to get my watercolor portraits to be more of my own style, like what you’re doing! :) sorry for the long comment lol and CONGRATS on 10k followers!!!🎉 P.S. I just received the watercolors this week from the giveaway. Can’t wait to try it out!! 😍❤️
I have these I find them hard to open . When I try to open the cap it tube twists and I gets really messy when I open it cuz paint starts to come out by itself ;-;
congratz on the 10.000 subscribers!! :D question: when did you start thinking about of becoming an artist? like... when I was 6-7 years old I knew I wanted to draw for my job... but I didn't knew there was jobs like illustrator or animator... or such like that. I thought the only job which involves drawing was an 'Architect' stupid young me... :')
I’ll be doing a Q&A for 10k, as I’ve just finished a recent giveaway, and I want to take some time to answer some of the questions you guys have been asking. I do have some things saved for a future giveaway though. :]
I'm to scared that people will look at it strangely if I was to ever post what I do from imagination it looks very different then what i normally post (black and white paintings of people and from imagination its more colorful). any advise?
I mix higher and lower grade gouache for better results too. Never get the dealer-Rodney Simply gouache IT IS TERRIBLE. I find Reeves good however. I want some more gouache I may look for a larger set of reeves or save up for the height quality stuff. Love my Holbein but it is so crazy expensive it’s hard to use for fear of waisting money. I want to get more high quality gouache soon I’ll have to wait until I have money.
okokok I think this looks really really amazing but I totally understand like as an artist how critical we tend to be towards our own work, but like honestly this looks super great :)) some questions I have are did you go to an art school and if so where, but if not, how did you learn to make art and use so many different mediums? I was also wondering if you would be willing to do any type of art trade or collaboration with other artists?
There is no need to apologise for being human. Too many YT creators edit themselves to perfection & then spend the whole vid fixing their hair in the viewfinder. Life isn't an Instagram selfie, things go wrong, we're not perfect, we're human. It's important to show that not every attempt ends in a perfect piece that we're happy with, but even more important is to show that the world didn't end because of that & we're able to try again.
Hey! New subscriber and fellow artist here. What I want to know is, do you watch other art TH-camrs and if so, who are your favorites and who do you recommend? I'm always looking for new people to watch :) Congrats on 10k btw!
My goodness, could I have said the word "gouache" any more times in this video?? I’m sorry, guys. 😅
Oh my gouache! :p *face palms* Sorry for the joke...It had to be said.
I finally know how to pronounce it. :) Thank you for always being great.
ahahah okay i tallied, 30+ times you said it no joke! ahahaha XD i think this piece is beautiful! and regardless of what you think I'm glad you shared it with us!! also maybe you could re do it another day to achieve the look you want :))

Thank You!! I Love you so so much ❤❤❤ A Milion xoxo!!
She has a video on watercoloring eyes up! although she hasn't shown how she draws them, you can watch her painting process of them :)

I think that comment about eliminating white just changed my life
I’m so glad you found an alternative to oil!! This makes me very happy and thank you for the advice
I can so relate to the "oh yes! Oh no!" stages of painting.
I have this same set and it's the first gouache I've ever worked with. I've had a lot of fun using it so far, but it's good to know that it behaves a bit differently than higher quality gouaches. I might have to upgrade to a nicer set once I'm more comfortable with the medium!

Do you think you need to be talented to be an artist? Favourite series and music? How long have you been drawing/painting?
Congrats on the 10k!!!! You work so hard and you deserve so many more~

Congratulations on, now, 11,000 subscribers! Aaah, your art is gorgeous and I don’t have any questions, but just wanted to say that I love your content and it really brightens my day!
This comment makes me so happy. Thank you for your kindness. :] I read this to my husband and was tearing up for no apparent reason. :3
We artist suffer so much for the self critic bacteria or brain. Thank you for the honesty in your work and words! Peace and out!
I just got this set too! And also like you did an art piece didn't like it and have put away the paints. I'll try again this weekend to practice! Thank you for the video!
Two questions.
1: can you be my dad?
2: can you let gouache dry on a pellet?
Drewthetoothpick Art yes! I use this brand and when dried it’s a bit like watercolor in that sense but I really enjoy it
Currently Ghosting what brand?
Drewthetoothpick Art Marie’s, the same one she used in the vid 💕
yes you can let any gouache dry (unless its acryla gouache) and reactivate it
I use marie's too
Bruhhh watching art videos this high makes me understand the meaning of life
You are lovely, and congrats on 10k!!!
Xo 💕
I have a set of Marie's watercolour tubes and the texture of them is really nice, I kinda want to try out the gouache
Do you guys think this will be a good introduction to gauche?? I do watercolor but I want to get into gauche
how long did it take you develope your style? what's the most important lesson you've learned as an artist ? and would you consider yourself good at art?

Least you got to show that its doable 83
Questions:
What are your favorite subjects to draw?
Not a question-- congrats on 10k subs uwu
Honesty shines thru
I love how you work with gouache! I hope you keep doing more videos like this😬
how long have you been drawing ? What do you think about anime art ? sorry for any mistakes I'm polish so English isn't my native language 😊
Your English is great! No need to worry. :]
ah I really love Marie's gouache, actually! What's your absolute favorite watercolor and gouache brand, separately? Do you have any siblings or pets? Do you prefer Arteza or Canson XL watercolor paper? It seems like Arteza has a super prominent weird tractor texture. Did you like that?
Tractor texture is an amazing way to describe it xD! I think I prefer the Canson for that reason.
Omygod you really deserve more thab 10k subscribers congrats !! Your reviews are very good !! I really love your channel
Have you ever tried "LUKAS AQUARELL STUDIO" watercolour palette? if you have, can you please do a review on it?
Congrats on the 10k! You’re doing a great job 😉 A have a few questions. 1) What is your favorite material? And which one would you like to try? 2) Do you have any pets? ☺️☺️

I'm starting to think I should try to use brushes in my collection that I typically wouldn't use as much (flat or filbert instead of rounds) for gouache to help me break the habit of trying to use it like watercolors.
Is/was art your dream career? Also, have you tried Holbein gouache? If so, what are your favorite colors?
She has a video comparing cheap vrs artist grade gouache using Holbein.
You have so many art supplies you're so blessed 😍👽
i would love it if you do a gouache tutorial video on skillshare! i really love the paint strokes and i really want to learn how to do it
You give some really great advice in this video, I don’t use gouache but I know that this video will help someone to maybe learn some tips on how to work with a new medium. I still really like this painting even though it may have been a struggle for you.
congrats on 10k subs!!!!!!!!! i'm really glad for you omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations on 10 k!!

did you go to art school?

Where do you get your inspiration / ideas ?

Congrats on the 10k :)
What are your favourite mediums?
What inspired you to make a TH-cam channel?
What is your least favourite medium?
I like rainbowy face 😍.
How do u sketch? Can you do a realtime video for your sketch?
It's amazing, everything you do is a masterpiece.
Will you be doing a review on Royal & Langnickel gouache? Nobody has done a review on it yet.
Would u say this is a good set to start with if ur new to Gouache?
Yes! They're affordable, and I don't think the quality gets in your way of learning. :]
@@arleebean Thank u very much!
are there any gouache blending techniques that help? i find blending colors (especially skin) always seem to muddy or make strange shades when dry...
She gives me a belle from beauty and the beast vibe!
Congrats on 10k! Hope to see it grow more
Congrats on 10k. I just wanted to know what kind of camera do you use? And what made you start recording your work?
How long have you been seriously doing art and what advice would you tell your younger self regarding art?
1. *Are you into kpop?*
2. *Have you ever heard of BTS or Day6?*
3. *Can you do a watercolour version ofthe "I tried following.." challenge*
Congrats on the subs!!! You deserve it :)
i really do love seeing struggles tho! it makes me feel not so alone in the bad art days. and CONGRATS on 10k!! your energy is wonderful and v fun and exciting which is what personally made me subscribe! what made you want to try gouache at first?
Love your style !
QUESTION : can you make a video of a room tour / what supplies you use ?
What steps did you take to become more confident with your art? And if this is already answered, then what are some products you want beginners to stay away from so they don't get discouraged easily? Hope you're doing well, keep up the amazing work!
I like the paint. Its not that bad once u get a hang on the paint u will get it.
Congrats on 10k!
On average, how long does it take you to go through a tube of colored gouache? What are your favorite colors for mixing?
So I have a question, I'm a tiny art TH-camr, and I was hoping for some tips on how to grow my channel? Also how do you edit your videos? Also I LOVE this piece!
I got the same thing from that art store today they were 10.99 which is a good price
1. Whats your age?
2. Are you sudying something related to art?
3. What do you think about a freelance artist?
Congratulations!!!:D
Oml it’s so artistic
When did you realize art is your passion?/Is art your full career?/ and if so how did you go about that? because I wanna make art my career so,/ What are some pointers you have to do so?
Question if you have another giveaway will it be about this gouache or something else? And how long have you been doing gouache for
when did you get into art and what medium were you using then?
Hi, what's your favorite color to use in a painting?
I'm re-watching this video and wait what your set also came with the weird Mauve Violet tube (and it's only 10 ml if I remember correctly instead of 12)?
Oh, I believe you're right about the tube size! Thank you!
how long did it take for you to get used to painting?
congrats on 10k!! you deserve it, you're super talented!
What do u use with these colors, is it water?
As usual, your art turned out beautifully! 💕Everytime I watch your videos, I’m like I wish I could paint like this. :) I like what you said about using a reference photo. Maybe that’s my problem... I always focus and stress too much about getting my art to look exactly like the reference photos. I think it’s nice to have realistic art when using graphite pencils but I want to be able to get my watercolor portraits to be more of my own style, like what you’re doing! :) sorry for the long comment lol and CONGRATS on 10k followers!!!🎉
P.S. I just received the watercolors this week from the giveaway. Can’t wait to try it out!! 😍❤️
So glad to hear they got to you safely!! Thanks for letting me know and for your sweet comment :]
Is gouache also acrylic? *Sorry for my bad english
I have these I find them hard to open . When I try to open the cap it tube twists and I gets really messy when I open it cuz paint starts to come out by itself ;-;
Awesome as always! 😍😍😍
Essa Marca de Guache é boa?
congratz on the 10.000 subscribers!! :D
question: when did you start thinking about of becoming an artist?
like... when I was 6-7 years old I knew I wanted to draw for my job... but I didn't knew there was jobs like illustrator or animator... or such like that. I thought the only job which involves drawing was an 'Architect' stupid young me... :')
whats your favourite medium? and would you consider a giveaway for 10k?
I’ll be doing a Q&A for 10k, as I’ve just finished a recent giveaway, and I want to take some time to answer some of the questions you guys have been asking. I do have some things saved for a future giveaway though. :]
I'm to scared that people will look at it strangely if I was to ever post what I do from imagination it looks very different then what i normally post (black and white paintings of people and from imagination its more colorful). any advise?
do you make prints / sell pictures?
Yes I do! I have one shop for prints, stickers, etc. and a separate shop for originals. :] Links to both shops can be found in the video description.
I want to get more high quality gouache soon I’ll have to wait until I have money.
okokok I think this looks really really amazing but I totally understand like as an artist how critical we tend to be towards our own work, but like honestly this looks super great :))
some questions I have are did you go to an art school and if so where, but if not, how did you learn to make art and use so many different mediums? I was also wondering if you would be willing to do any type of art trade or collaboration with other artists?
What is your personal history with art/creativity?
The black strip seems to be waterproof.
