To explain something: Yes, It takes 1 or 2 seconds to go from kickdown to full acceleration. The cause of this is the DSG (Dual Clutch Transmission) which technically cannot skip gears so it's forced to go through all gears until it can close the target clutch again and transmit the power. That's a technical downside of a Dual Clutch Transmission. Other than that a DSG is much faster than a regular Automatic Gearbox. Greetings from Germany ;)

I drive a 2022 Audi A6 Allroad, I can confirm that the V6 is great. The highway MPG is around 33-35 at 75 MPH and with the air ride suspension it rides and drives like a dream.

Not bad video at all, but as owner of similar '21 A6 45TFSI which I owned for 18 months have to comment a few things:
    1) Your wheels are 20' inch, not 19
    2) MMI version you have is 90% is up to date comparing to another cars in this segment and price category (MSRP), not sure what you need more other than a full screen wireless AppleCarPlay and any settings you wish in the MI. Those Audi currently selling in dealer ships have almost same version (A bit updated in 2024 with adding Amazon Alexa and a few more things which you probably won't use at all)
    3) And mainly, NO, this car has nothing in common with VW Passat.
    - Engine in A6 is inline 4 with 248hp (or 261hp in 2022+ models) where Passat has completely diff and old version of EA888 which a) has less than 190hp (even with stage1 less than 230hp), b) while Audi's engine is Inline 4, Passat's is R4 in terms of position in engine bay
    - Transmission - Audi All wheels Drive Quattro Ultra S-tronic DL382 vs FWD on Toyota's classic AT
    - And other key points what Passat doesn't have compare to Audi: Mild-Hybrid System, 4-zone climate control, ventilated seats, real wood, modern laser headlights, cabin sound proofing, 16+ speaker audio system, overall build quality, leather and plastic materials, virtual cockpit is day and night diff too, and many other things. They even build in different countries: Audi is German made where is Passat is assembled in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Don’t get me wrong VW Passat is a great car and a new Audi A6 being twice as expensive as new VW Passat is more than fair price to ask. It comes more interesting when comparing 3+ years old Passat to similar aged A6, price difference is now about 10k for which you get a completely different car. IMO I will take 3yo A6 over any new Passat, Camry, Accord and any other similar vehicles, which I in fact did.

I'm still driving a 1993 Audi V8 4.2L, I love Audi's of any era. However the maintenance after they are out of warranty is a concern. I also like to poke fun at Audi , while I know the the 4 rings represent the 4 different manufacturers that were brought together to form Audi, but, I like to think that it is a reminder of how many wheels belong on the car, or how many shots the engineers had before making repair items very inaccessible, lastly if you put any number in front of the 4 rings it could represent a future repair bill. I love your videos on apple and automotive, Thank you!

If you love the RWD experience go to the 5 series no doubt. But the A6 is not a Passat. Not even the A4 is based on the Passat. The A4 and A6 have dedicated platforms and Audi does a stellar job in their cars. The fit and finish is Miles better then a Passat. Yes, the 2l turbo gas engine is shared with almost every VW group car (even a Golf), but this car deserves the V6 anyways.

I have this car. 2019 2.0 Premium with 20" wheels. I leased it in December of 2019 from the dealership where I worked. Screaming deal at the time. Residual was 28K (I did a 7500 mile/year lease, so it bumped up the resid by 3% compared to standard). Same basic question: What could I replace it with for $28K? The car is fantastic. Is it a rocket? No, but at 67 years old, so what. I have had it up to 120 mph and it felt fine. I am at 40, 000 miles as I come up on my 5th year anniversary. The driver's rear door lock is not working as of this past week. Glad I got a service contract as the warranty is gone! Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

Completely different car, different feel, it's quicker, and the it takes curves unlike anything in its class, quattro is amazing better than the 4 motion of VW & I can't even speak on the innovations and options. Mate, I stopped watching when you said it’s a Passat with an Audi badge. For your info, and specially if you’re going to make reviews on Audis, the A6 is manufactured on the MLB platform (shared with some suvs, A8, etc). It is manufactured in Neckarsulm and it has nothing to do with the passat apart from the engine they may share (in the US you have the turbo 3.0V6 under model 55 or the EA888 4cyl). The Passat is built under the MQB platform. Main difference for the non VAG people? The MQB runs transverse engines with or w/o awd, whereas the MLB runs longitudinal engines, and here is where you find the real quattro cars with potential for RWD bias. So driving dynamics are TOTALLY different. The model you have there, if it is quattro and it has a 4 cyl, has the newer quattro ultra that replaced the central torsen for a central diff coupler with clutch packs to improve efficiency (yuck).

You can get a used 2014-2015 Lexus LS460 F-Sport with less than 100k miles for around $25k. What does that get you?
385 hp V8, 6 piston Brembo front calipers, Mark Levinson premium stereo, 19” BBS forged wheels, Torsen limited slip differential and air suspension.
The air suspension will eventually be a very pricey fix when it fails but there are conversion kits to change it to a regular suspension.
I have one of these and I used to have an Audi before. The Audi ended up being a money pit in the end.
Almost any used high end luxury car is going to cost you some $ when you first buy it to catch up on any “deferred” maintenance the previous owner chose not to do. 😂

I love the car but wouldn’t keep one outside of its warranty, but that’s true for any German make. The Germans expect you to spend the original value of the car in maintenance over the vehicles life. Secondly, completely agree about the interior quality vs bmw and MB. However, much more than a rebadged Passat in every way (except the engine itself). Speaking of, the 2.0l is cheaper and easier to maintain however, the 3.0 is a much better driver.

Missed a very big detail, the reliability. Undeniably the worst part of any fancy German car is the extensive and expensive repair costs. The electronic door handles, cost a fortune to fix, and that’s just one example. To be fair, driving it around the city in a dry climate, similar to your use, will not make the vehicle as prone to repairs but if you are constantly driving on highways in snow, heavy rain, the electronics, no matter how well built, will eventually face the need to repair.
While I do agree that an A6 is a spectacular car, making a review without factors that can substantially hurt a consumer looking to buy a vehicle, is not your level of quality. I’ve known you from Porsche builds and tech vids and an all around accredited channel but this video is slightly misleading.
