Thanks for this video. I probably would have fallen for HMBX six years ago had it existed then, but instead I started an HMB league using the 2013 Baseball America set in early 2016. I’m up to 2019 now, over 5,000 games played. I love the full stats HMB offers, a few guys have over a thousand innings pitched, over 4,000 plate appearances. Nearly daily reports on Keith’s Delphi forum, Players Federal League I call it.
@@widewideworldoftabletopspo7946 Oh, hi, Brien. Good grief, I didn’t know. Yeah, HMBX sure has caught on, judging by the new folders popping up on Delphi. Thanks for following my fictional doings. HMB has brought me years of enjoyment. Jeff
Has anyone actually tested out this "brain don't work like the rest of us" mechanic over dozens of games?? This thing is such a Rube Goldberg machine that we may have a 1962 replay where the Yanks suck and the Mets are great. And considering this is a QP game designed as a supplement to a full-blown game -- where's the PROVEN credibility??? (And I don't mean the usual Pavlov's dogs gushing over everything Keith ever does.)
You are welcome to your opinion, which is why I posted this instead of deleting it. As someone who has designed games, I can say that Keith is not just a prolific designer, but a very freaking good one at that. The "proof" you seek is that one needs only the math behind the charts and cards of the full game to then create a credible QP game off the same general probabilities and combinations. The 1962 Mets will NOT become world-beaters and the 1927 Yankees will not turn into pumpkins ... because of the individual cards that will perform the "right" way in HMBX as they do in the full game.
Not to mention all the playtesting that goes into something like this. I would have loved to have seen the charts months ago, but there was still a lot of fleshing out and playtesting to have been done. Keith wouldn't have released it unless it was up to snuff with believable results.

Jeff, it's me, Brien Martin ... been following the PFL for years ... hoping my Philly boys can hold on for a third straight East pennant ...

Great presentation of the game. Appreciate it. Would love to see more HMB Express !
" Keith has a brain that works in a way the rest of ours don't" . Best description of Keith's success in game design I've ever heard.
Brilliant review
Game mat link please
Love it
? When you get mob do you put that many cards to the bottom of your stack?
Nope ... just rotate to the next guy in the deck ...
His brain is very abstracted.
Please play some more hmbx - I need more examples of how to play
