Notice how all the people with negative comments are constantly saying how they hate math? Now from what I've learned about... well learning is that if you don't wanna learn something. You're not going to. Your ego will constantly try to get in the way and tell you that you can't do it. What if I told you, you can learn it because there have been millions, maybe billions of people who have over the ages. That maybe if you slow down and keep level head when facing a problem that you will eventually figure it out. No one ever learned math in one sitting, these comments saying thanks have been trying to do it for a while. If you don't get discouraged, you can too.

why didnt you subtract 4 and 2 and -3 and 16 to get your slope then reduce?? so its up and down instead of left to right??

Because you have to find the change in x and the change in y. So y2 is 16 and y1 is 2, so you have to subtract 2 from 16. Then you do the same with your x-values.
