Says a lot about black culture when someone outside the race performs well and gets praise from black people, however, when someone black does something heavily perpetuated by white culture a lot of white people like to ridicule, Serena Williams for example. I'm glad to be a part of a race and culture that encourages people outside of it to do well. Thank you all for giving this man props because he is doing the thing, not because he is white.
That’s very on point, Agreed. However as a mother (mixed race), whatever it takes to see our children, especially our boys be put out into the public as hard working individuals, and not just classified as thugs, I’ll take it. These kids put forth so much effort into what they do and it shows in their beautiful faces. And having said that, if it saves one life because someone of non color see these videos and look at our children other then thugs and gangsters, it’s a good thing. I have two daughters, one who looks mixed race and the other looks white. If they had been boys, I don’t know what I’d do with the current climate we live in. The daughter who looks white, always is put in a situation of hearing racist remarks, as everyone assumes she is white. She is strong, and calls people out on the dime. I had to call police once for boys who came into our neighborhood and started a fight. The cops came however the boys took off in their truck. Approximately five cop cars pulled onto my front lawn, knocked on my door and were asking what am I trying to pull? As if I’d call them for no damn reason! My daughter who looks white, says let me talk to them, cause I look white! The fact that she has to say some like that made me very sad.
That is not true. Greeks don't get made when others take their letters and use "Greek" life etc. They embrace it as someone accepts our heritage. Maybe where you are from, I never heard any white person say, that's ours, why are they using it. You fail to realize that culture is made to be shared.
@@tedsharpe3010 Didn't say Greek Culture, when referring to black and I white, I'm referring to American, can't speak on anything else. But American history is literally littered with white people being mad at a black person doing something that was for white people. Look at when Jackie Robinson tried to play baseball, or any of the countless blacks that tried their hand at a sport when it was predominantly white and that's just sports. Like I said American history is littered with it. Last I checked there are black Greeks right? So I definitely wasn't referring to that. Let's try not to make something that it's not about. Thank you for trying to troll, have a good day.
@@philthee04 you are making it what it's not. You are making about race. I was making a statement. Don't like it? Oh well. Jackie Robertson was in a different time period. It wasn't right. He earned earned that spot of head drum major he gives it to them
Simply Enjoyable! These Drum majors are Clean, energetic, and on point. I see why this went viral. The white lead drum major is doing his thing! Yesssss!!
Vanilla funk is INCREDIBLE Passion unmatched.
That’s the biggest high school I have ever seen. My school doesn’t even have as many kids as there band does.
Savagesbaseball 1234 nah search up Allen high marching band
Caleb Cabrera there band has more kids than my entire school does! Go look up Rison High School and images. My school only has 300 students. That is head start, elementary, middle and high school. That’s it. We are small town Arkansas. NBC
There band has 760 students
Mine has 250 best in mid ohio Olentangy Orange High School
I’ve seen bands with hella kids it mainly be performing arts hs or schools with show style bands. My school has a little more than 100 and like to refer to Famu marching 100
Go big or stay home. Clearly going big. Star is born.
I find this more entertaining to watch than I do any sporting event. Kids have serious talent.
Dedication, Desire, and Discipline.

GOD BLESS You, Your Teachers and Directors , Your Parents and ALL that concerns you!!
💞🌈💎🌹💎🌈💞
Half time IS game time baby! These kids are killing it!
The young kids are very disciplined.😊
All the drum majors did an excellent job. The band played well also. We as blacks just love to hype up other ethnicities when they absorb our music and culture and do it proficiently. While the black man gotta go way above and beyond to get that same level of recognition.
Justin, man you rock. I smile every time I look on TH-cam to see you and the team perform. Yall bring the heat man.💪😇😎
I saw the interview he did with local news. He is a humble young man that gives full credit to his band mates. Kudos to you young man
To All the students participating - WOW! and CHEERS!... Thanks for sharing your many talents with us!
I love the pride and dedication that this group has. If it wasn't for that, this large of a group wouldn't be where they are today. I love watching Justin.
seeing him do what we’ve done for decades makes me shed a tear ..
Everyone was SO great. It is incredible that you were all at such a high standard at high school. The percussionists, the moves🔥🔥🔥
This show performance right here is outstanding and I am impressed! As a high school DrumMajor and HBCU marching band alumnist, watching this makes me miss being in the marching band. While it was fun doing shows and always learning new music, it was hard work. If I had the chance to do it all over, I would in a heart beat! The Drum Majors march with excellence and the Drumline is fire. I played all percussion in high school and college and was DM my senior yr. in high school. The percussion section sound like thunder and I really like the drum cadences. The musicians sound really good and I hear every note. Dancers and flag girls add that extra flair when they're still in dance block with the band. Hats off to this band director and the JD high school marching band. You have an old skool fan!✌#FortValleyStateCollege #FVSCBeforeTheU #TheBlueMachineMarchingBand #DeathSquadDrumline🎼🎶🎷🎺
Talent is Talent and Talent shines over any dullness.
Man that discipline though.....
Justin on point and so is the whole band!!one band one sound
1:36 When did Soulja Boy join a high school band...Just pickin', lol! These kids are freakin' Aaaaamazing...And Justin truly puts his heart and soul into every event...Sooo proud of these young men and ladies😍
He happens to be bringing attention to a large number of kids that are really working hard doing something positive for themselves and their school. I would really like to see some corporate support by showing these young people, “we see you” and financially helping this program buy new awesome uniforms!
I truly am glad that this showed even more of the other sections of this extraordinary band. I will say it once again. This is one dynamic group of young people. Can we see a interview of the staff that has taking of their time and sown into these wonderful young people lives. Thank you all!
Year ago I used the 1988 marching band to get me through one night of sobriety.
Dranking... Thank you for doing it again..
He lit regardless I need him at the cookout ijs
I wish the show was longer, I want to see more than just a two minute half time show
Outstanding work by all! Has my heart beating and foot moving all the way in Alaska! followyourpassion
WoW!! I just stumbled onto this channel yesterday and then saw this HS band and said let me click. HS?? My HS band was nothing like this LOL but Wow what a treat!! The discipline is astounding!! The entire band is phenomenal!! I know this is from 2 years ago but I had to comment. Thank you for sharing them because I was up til 2am last night watching their vids and I fell asleep smiling. So often we hear about our kids in such a negative way or see negative vids about our community...it just feels so good to see. this I love it. I know the seniors have all graduated and I wish them all massive success and wish those that follow massive success in everything they all set out to do. Peace.
Welcome
@@ShowtimeWeb Thank you!! Love your channel. I am stuck here LOL
The band was good. Remind me of my high school band back in the early 70's.
Love it! All they need to do now is change the name of the school.
He is so precise and on point with his movements and that’s why he stands out. He is living every move. You can feel his passion.
I love the jsu drum major style and the Asu dancer style mix in 💯
That's my boy John....I mean John Justin...get own' outta' deh' ah to the sky 🤣🤣😭😊
Congrats to this band director and his band. I see the JSU style in the drum majors.
Glad to see a thriving music program! Keep the Arts alive!
They bettah get it. I can't believe this is highschool
This band deserves love if only for the fact they play old school gems.
Defo one of this years favourites
As n Aussie I respect him along with others for their sheer endurance and athleticism. ALL OF THE MARCHES AND BAND RESPECT.
What about when a white person that had dreads, a black "professor"trolls him about his dreads. Just shut up and let people share culture. Just that easy.
Wow you ain’t fucking lying never looked at it like that we make one mistake we torn to shreds it’s really because they don’t want us in their spaces
Dr Lee - One Band, One Sound!
All the kids are amazing! 🔥👏🏽
All I can say is i can't get enough of this dude. He had a true passion for it!! Dude Im a groupie for you
