Enya was born Eithne Ni Bhraonain in Donegal, Ireland. Enya studied classical music at college under private tuition. On leaving college she was asked by Producer Nicky Ryan to join her siblings in their family band. She did so for a short time, but found it too restrictive musically, and so in 1982 she joined Nicky Ryan and Roma Ryan in a creative and business partnership. Enya's first commission was to write a score for Sir David Puttnam for his film "The Frog Prince". Then, the triumvirate secured the soundtrack to the BBC documentary series 'The Celts'. Enya was then signed by Warner Music and all three by EMI Music Publishing. The first album of this contract was "Watermark" with the hit single "Orinoco Flow". This was followed by "Shepherd Moons", "The Memory of Trees", "Paint the Sky With Stars", "A Day Without Rain" which produced the single, "Only Time".

I grew up hearing this beautiful lady and her voice since the mid 80s when I was a "wild child". Enya holds a special place in my heart.
Same, altho for me it was the early 90s. And now I'm a forager and wild food person and am a very different 50 something wild child. I've noticed that I look stunning, if messy & dirty & not really cute symmetry-wise, when I see pics of me out in the wild.
I'm a grown man and Enya does somethin to my soul. Shit makes me cry, yo. She writes simple, yet profoundly beautiful music. It doesn't have to be complicated, people. Write beautiful melodies and beautiful words, put em together. Profit.

I found this on July 10th this year. It was the first time I have ever heard this beautiful melody. Just as I got out of the movie theater, the first words I said was "Siri, what song is playing?" And she replied in a split second saying "Hmm, sounds like Wild Child by Enya" gotta love iPhone and this song

This song is very memorable to me: Back in 2000, I ba me homeless but I got employment being a delivery driver. My boss was kind enough to lend me the van I was driving and this was the music I kept hearing. I was homeless from that year to 2002 and sounds as it's crazy, but it was the best times of my life....I didn't need anything because I kept what I earned and there's no rent to pay, I just buy food that day and lived like that. I thought I was going to stay that way for awhile and I was ready and willing until my sister invited me to live with her because she needed help to pay her mortgage. That was 14 years ago and I still cherish this song by Enya. :)

You were lucky to have a job & van to sleep in off the streets. It does not sound crazy that it was the best time of your life ~ a great experience to learn how to survive when one does not have a home to go home to, a ready toilet, shower, unable to store food or cook.
I have known homeless who did cook on grills at parks, yet not the same as having ones own kitchen.

I went to a Spa for massage yesterday, I kid you not, it was my first time hearing this song and the artist. When I came back home, I look it up online until I finally found it. She is seriously my favorite ever. her songs always bring out so many memories for me.
All her songs are nostalgic it makes you feel like your in some kind of spiritual heaven
I love her voice, her instrumental abilities and her music. All are lush, and I love the fact that her writing is so damned melodic, always putting the song first. I think what I love the most, though, is how the music is produced. That might sound odd, but if you listen and listen closely, you'll hear things, little bits and pieces, embedded in the mix, that don't immediately jump out at you. Enya is that rarity in pop music: a songwriter who doesn't bare all on first listen.

She is one of the most amazing artists of our time.
A few months back I was listening to one of her previous albums with the only thought going through my head was the feeling as though it were a completely different song than I remember.
What's even more amazing is that she's become so big (Ireland's biggest-selling artist after U2), yet she's never done a concert tour - it's all on the strength of her albums.

The first song I heard by Enya was Boadicea in 1988, although I think the album it was on "the Celts" had been out for a while already. I was instantly hooked, Enya is truly peerless when in comes to making beautiful music that says so much while saying so little.

A hauntingly beautiful song...like all of her music. I once listened to Shepherd Moons during a walk in a winter forest. It transported me to a whole new dimension. It's hard to explain but it had a major impact on me. Enya's music, but it has a dramatic effect to your thoughts and spirituality.

Hahaha I'm a wild child so I guess that makes this my theme song. I love Enya. She inspires me to do great things with my life like go to college, go for my dreams, and live up to all of what I'm expected to do or be. Her music makes even the darkest of moments seem somewhat happy and bright. I wish she could live forever but even if she can't her music will.

This is the first song of Enya that was introduced to me. I found it searching for a song in our karaoke book. And I stumbled upon these magnificent songs of Enya and I was filled with fantasies (fairies, angels, etc). I was 8yrs old or 10 maybe at that time. And from that moment, every time I changed my phone, Enya's songs were on my playlist 💚💖
