Albania is doing everything it can to attract tourist and keep the place open. Unlike many other places, Albania is safe and open for business. the weather is warm and the food is great, the prices are more affordable.
The pyramid is to be reconstructed guys. Thats way there is the fence. The new construction design is absolutely breathtaking. Its gonna be a new social center and other things to do too. Its just a new project on the way to do.
The piramid had to be the mausuleum of envor hoxha, but it was never completed he died before the job was done. Last year has been renovated and it is an It hub, plus the headquarter of the recently opened headquarter of the European University in Albania.

Many things has changed and improved since 4 years,but we know there is still a lot of room for improvement. Many people died and the whole country did not develop. Instead, we got hundreds of thousands of bunkers for a war that never happened. The pyramid was designed by his daughter to honor Enver Hoxha; thus many people want it to be demolished. Then again, it is part of our history; hence historians want to turn the pyramid into a museum. 11:30: Peja (Character "j" is pronounced like "y" in the word "you") is an Albanian beer brand from the city Peja in Kosovo. If you are into history and culture, you should visit Gjirokastër ("Gj" is pronounced similar to "Xh"), Berat or Korçë in the South or the city Shkodër in the North :)

This pyramid was made as a museum for the dictator of albania. It was made to honor him, but it only served its purpose for 1 day. With the collapse of communism this pyramid was abandoned. There were calls to destroy it, but the mayor decided to make it a innovation center. There was a plan in place, but it got suspended because of the recession, so enjoy it for now, because it will (hopefully) be the last time you see it abandoned like this.
