    Awesome skills, that pump is pretty quick the way it cycles the hydraulic system.

    Very nicely done! Looks like a factory fabricated unit. I especially like the "bullhorn" in front, it fits the look of the tractor, impressive design. Great thinking for the pump bearing support. Nice frame reinforcements as well.

    You did a sweet job on that loader. Very nice build. Thanks for sharing,,

    Great build. I really was impressed especially with the pump and how you fabricated it to a belt drive. Nice and neat !! Great job and thank you for the share.

    Hi Deacon! Wonderful job on your loader! Would you ever consider making another and selling it?

    really nice job only 1 thing, you never put a filter on the suction side, I know it doesn't sound right but i work with hydraulic techs and they say when they get dirty they can collapse and or cavitate starving your pump which can ruin the pump or at least make the oil even hotter due to restriction. not being critical like ZI say just input I got from experts in the field when I built mine.

      Hi Steve, Thanks for the insight. I did consult with Hydraulic power experts on this before doing so. And I was cautioned about such issues. Notice that the suction filter is designed for many times the flow rate of the pump and is not a super fine filter - made to catch the big stuff. AND, it is important to change that filter regularly. I weighed the options of your concern with the risk of sucking metal chips from the bottom of my tank and sending them through the system before any chance of filtering. In the end, I made the decision to go this way - fully aware of the risk.
      Thanks for the comment. Maybe, after running it for a while and making sure any manufacturing debris is filtered out, I can remove the suction filter. ??? but I will definitely be changing it regularly before then. Thanks again!
      Love to see yours - Link?

      @@deaconjim8219 yeh I hear what your saying for sure it never made sense to me either to have a chance of crap ruining a pump but was assured it was the right thing to do, but now you got me thinking ,,like you said over rated for flow and not as fine and change it often, to me it makes perfect sense and I just may try it, pumps are not cheap.thanks for the reply, when I get mine done I will share.

    What gauge/gauges of steel did you use? Also, what’s the heaviest thing you’ve tried to lift?

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of the frame is 3/16" thick. I have the relief valve on my loader 1250 psi. The pump is capable of 3600. At 1250 I can easily lift the back end off the ground (with the 200 lb weight in the 3 pt basket/counter balance) if I try something too heavy . I am confident I can lift 500 lbs. though I have not weighed a load like that. I have lifted fairly large rocks, full scoops of gravel and river rock all with no problem.

    That is pretty dang awesome. I own a Toro 418 wheel horse. By any chance do you have plans for this load? Many thanks. Dean

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly just a toy. I have moved a lot of snow in the winter and recently moved 10 yards of black dirt for a friend. Also very handy loading firewood especially the bigger logs.

      @@deaconjim8219 it beats the heck out of having to do it all by hand. I am looking to build something similar for my Toro where did you get the blueprint plans for the loader?

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is my own design. A custom build, made it up as I built it. Wish I could be more helpful, but I would be glad to offer more info if needed.

      @@deaconjim8219 many thanks. I would like to get some dimension of the reservoir and the supports for the frame. Such as the thickness of steel tubing. I greatly appreciate your response. Many thanks. Dean

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dean,
      The reservoir is .120 thick (11 gauge) 3" sq. tubing.
      I strengthened/extended the frame with 3/16" thick x 5" wide flat stock. I used a plasma cutter to notch for all the bolt heads already on the frame so it would lay flat against the frame and still slide all the way up to the horizontal part of the angle iron frame.
      The unit has proven it self over and again to be plenty strong.
      Hope this helps.
      Jim

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pump, joystick valve, 3 cylinders, hoses, all couplings (lots of em), including quick couplings, ... around $1200. All new stuff, most from surplus center

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      that also included the filters, filter mounts and pressure gauge.

    How long is this machine. I am looking for one and I'm in the process of building a trailer.

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      mine fits on a 10ft trailer with the bucket all the way down - that includes the weight bucket on the 3 point in the back. I tried very hard to keep the bucket close to the front wheels when fully down.
      Hope this helps

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not measured it, but it needs most of the 10ft. A 9ft trailer with a gate or tip up ramp would not work.

    • @deaconjim8219
      @deaconjim8219  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, it weighs about 1200 lbs with the loader, counter weight bucket and wheel weights.
