i love oneohtrix point never. all my homies love oneohtrix point never
wish all my homies loved oneohtrix as well
Exactly. It doesn't not get around.
If you like this comment your now my homie
Worldwide homies connect
They literally got me out of some toxic relationships. Now, there’s no longer any arguments about why I choose not to enjoy **coughs chart topping rapper☺️
still love the fact usher was supposed to be on this
I'm afraid to say this is the first OPN album that has mainstream appeal. It doesn't hide it wants to reach out a wider audience... and I'm not sure if that's something I value as a positive.
That last minute is just haunting. It is like delving deeper and deeper into a bottomless mystery that you will never fully unravel.
trying to find the bottom of a bottomless hole?
@@RyanReenBattikh Precisely. But just how deep will we go until we realize it is futile?
The secret is that it's a radio station he misspoke as oneohtrix Point Never' as a kid
... Magic 106.7...
I can't understand all the lyrics, but from what I can tell, the whole station didn't burn down.
time to bevel and emboss in photoshop
That's why I like this so much, it's so blatant yet it works so well.
"Oh the whole station's gonna burn down"
Man, there's something very.. ominous and apocalyptic about that line. Something very much of our current moment in history, but also timeless.
yeah this, black snow and same are about the apocalypse. it's crazy how unsettling yet articulate the mood is set
Funny how a band called the station was in a nightclub fire and I see this comment while trying to find the video the reporter took lmao
like, 100 people died
lmaoooooo
we're in it now
2020 entered the chat
this is the best song i've ever heard in my life
THIS COULD BE USHER BUT HE PLAYIN THO
bit rot how?
@@MistahShootrES this song was based on an old demo that opn made for usher, but usher decided against using it. Opn used it himself to make the station.
@Ryan Smith Usher asked OPN to make him some demos cause he was interested in him. This was the song, but Usher turned it down
These visuals feel exactly like a fever dream. Beautiful, haunting animation that together with the song makes such a very unique experience.
It must be an infestation
Something that I can't control
It's an open invitation
To try to find the bottom of a bottomless hole
I wanna see inside the alien
I wanna feel your organs inside out
Nobody needs this information
But I'll give it to you anyhow, anyhow, anyhow
Oh, the whole station's gonna burn down
Oh, the whole station's gonna burn down
Oh, the whole station's gonna burn down
It must be an infestation
Something that I can't control
It's an open invitation
To try to find the bottom of a bottomless hole
I wanna see inside the alien
I wanna…
(I have just copy pasted them)
i'm just looking for a little hole to stick my ding dong in
Seems to be about the Station Nightclub video. I'm reading a meaning in the lyrics about the morbid fascination that drives some of us to watch readily available videos of horrible death, gore and suffering on the internet (open invitation) like we're searching for meaning in it, which is impossible (try to find the bottom of the bottomless hole) and the unhealthy but seemingly uncontrollable nature of the urge to consume that kind of media (nobody needs this information, something I can't control)
Fackkkeennn greattt 💎💎💎
@@freshseafood3036 I was thinking you were evil but you are not and I'm stupid( I was for a moment)
@@alexfurnas1263 for me I had a nice gf and also I liked another one and both relationships were going to the shit and I was listening this song and saying ok ok. Fuck and fuck and then die
wyd when you get trapped in the bevel & emboss dimension
pray to god i don't end up in the satin plane
There's something about the animation that's VERY reminiscent of Aeon Flux. It's like surrealist cyber Berserk animated by Peter Chung.
@Brian Kimboll lol no
It’s daylen seu u reference spitting nerd
I feel that, but Kentaro Miura would never allow it to happen.
This video is an accurate depiction of what it feels like to listen to Oneohtrix Point Never.
Russel Hobbs from Gorillaz just brought me here via his new Notion playlist 🖤🎵
The animation in this video's just as good as the music itself 😉🖤
yo big ups to russ
imagine opn on song machine 2 👀
The last minute of this are sounds as enthralling as Daniel has ever made.
“Thou hast entered the immeasurable region”
Hark ye hark, prithee we've entered the O-ist monolith and become drolatique puppets for the entropic opera- but lo lest not be melancholic for we have many a hymn to recite for jolly make and merriment
caught daniel at the first armory show, front row. tried for at least twenty minutes to explain the pronunciation of Oneohtrix Point Never to an old frequent-flyer of the armory. She held her phone up to take flash photos the entire time.
shout to david/ez/nate for the visuals/being very nice when we chatted after the show. props to daylen seu for this stellar video
I used to pronounce it Oh-Neo-Trix and I still think that sounds way more cyberpunk :P
Sound8Vision same bro when i found out how it was actually pronounced i liked my way better haha
a truly crushing work of art
Someone pointed out (quite rightly) that the bass line on this tune could be tool, but I also get a heavy Timbaland vibe, circa 'Bills Bills Bills' and the like.
0PN is going to be remembered one day as one of the most gifted electronic artists in music history. Even if you’ve been following him for a long time and aren't as into his newer music, you can’t deny that it sounds nothing like what anyone else is making. His willingness to experiment is what is going to make him one of the greats. He is an exceptionally versatile producer and I think that he will be sought after more and more within the music industry as time goes by. I just hope he stays true to his art and does what gives him the most fulfilment.
replicant well said!!!! Too true
He will go down as one of the greats.
Yeah no doubt. Guy is up there with Richard
past, easy.
AFX it's better, and less boring.
Literally my favourite from the album, and visual's amazing!!!😭😭😭
fav as well
literally yeah? literally?
god this is so beautiful in a way i find hard explaining
it's the merging of all the sounds it's all so discordant yet it goes together so well
What do you guys think of the video? it seems to have an interesting story, almost like these beings experience time differently and everything is ageing really fast around them, one was chained up and controlled by another and once they destroyed the controller everything was falling apart while life was coming to, in objects you wouldn't expect?
or maybe there is some kind of mastermind the controller was being controlled by :S:S:S haha Daniel you are something!
It seemed like one had been chained, and to unchaine itself it abuses and confines the other, but this causes everything to fall apart, and both thier deaths
this track kinda reminded me of You Said by Young Thug hahaha
Somebody WILL eventually rap over this, and it’ll be sick.
Holy shit
Imagine an OPN and Young Thug collab, that shit would be WILD
@@Naudins Seems fine to me as long as it doesn't sound like Young Thug's newest release.
That bass line could very well be tool
Thank you Daniel, Very Cool!
He has that DRAGON energy.
SHUT THE FUCK UP THIS MEME HASN'T BEEN FUNNY FOR MONTHS
Yo this video about pegging
.
Has anyone here ever interpreted what the dots at 0:38 mean? The same sequence of dots appear in the video for Black Snow at around 2:17. I am not very familiar with cryptography and I don't know a lot about converting things into Morse Code. If you change the instances of two dots appearing within the same character (double dots :) with a dash, it may more closely resemble Morse Code, but any attempts on my part to translate this into something other than nonsense result in the phrase "ET" with some number of "E"s before and/or after the "T". Please let me know if anyone has a different/alternate interpretation of this; I am wondering if there is another ARG out there for this album/future releases that I have completely missed.
I think OPN explained somewhere that the squares represents the AIs that serves as "protagonists" of the album
Cant wait for whatever him and Weeknd got cooking, the meshing of their 2 sounds could be legendary
Nova For real. I’m hyped.
scuse me???????????????????????????
cloudy On his instagram a few months ago he posted a picture of Weeknd in the studio, and he said in an interview last year Weeknd had been in touch and that they were going to work together.
@@Nova10245 holy shit lol that's amazing
I’d like to hear him and Frank Ocean together.
this, song, it's a trip, it's a journey, it's everything
A ballad, noise, violence, poetic.
Grandmas Cheeseballs.
Rumor has it, this song caused the fire that burned down Magic Johnny's house...
sounds like homage to coil's love secret domain
3:12 is why Im here
who wouldve thought fuckin in the arctic would sound so good
This song was performed at Opus Merriweather Event in Columbia, Md a few years ago.. I fell in love with this song ever since. Just imagine hearing this song live it was just soo beautiful..!I just cannot put words to how it made me feel.. 🥰🥰
Getting an Aeon Flux vibe here.

When Tool meets Berserk
True
I don't hear any kind of Tool vibe, maybe Puscifier, what are you talking about?
@@shitmultiverse1404 I think the guitar riff kinda sounds like tool
@@shitmultiverse1404 listen harder man
3:30 does things to me
It reminds me of an old 80s training video. I think the desinent and unstable tone really evokes a sense of distant nostalgia.
As relaxing as a 30 minute t e l e p a t h song
Big synth energy
This video is still so underappreciated...
I am so happy this got a video, my favorite song from the album
This is like something you see before dying
the production is a fuckin masterpiece
Berserk vibe
DXM
shoutout emotegi
Does anybody know what’s happening in this video?
2:00
U should work with « coucou Chloé »
age of bondage, indeed.
when the synth plucks come in
Is there a happy ending though?
This is my wake up alarm. My day starts BADASS
How do I make this my alarm?
I need a good artist to work with. I would love to someday have even half the visual creations that you have. Love this song and love you as much as I can from seeing you through the eyes of your music. Which, if it's anything like mine, is a lot.
Awesome.
Mtl
Bought this on cd, gonna get the vinyl now. Love his work
Excellent tune, cool video. OPN can do no wrong.
I fucking declare myself as a fan of OPN. The best artist I discovered this year.
you a weeknd transplant? we love to see it
He is already, in my opinion, one of the most important electronic musicians of all time. Will be considered on the level of an Aphex Twin and similar
loving the new experiments. Keep making new stuff. Stay outside the box for a while.
definitiv das schönste, was ich diesen sommer bisher gehört hab'
Boooody mooootions
The Station and Babylon are highlights of the album.
That riff is so similar to another song I’ve heard. Can’t quite put my finger on it.
Yeah, but it defffinitely is damn damn good
AAHHHH, fill me in what song ??? I need to know !!!
I will save myself
beautyfull vizu
뮤비 정말 취향 탄다 음악도 너무 좋고...
sounds like baba stiltz
I hope this what hell looks like.
His music sounds like a Kanye that's depressed 24/7. That's a good thing.
His music doesn't sound anything like Kanye, that's one of the very few songs that are more pop, his other stuff is totally different
Here's my take on it: This is what the AI from Myriad thought of Pornhub and all the porn on Internet as they tried to piece back human history a long time from now. OPN is as good as always.
3:07 is joy
a faraday cage of a song
belle musique, merci!
oui
u wanna see inside the alien, too?..
ooh-wwoooohhh~
overwhelming
scarily close to what i imagined a music video for this would actually look like. wonderful
oh my fuck
don't like most of the song, but the ending is sweet
2:55 to the end is good
Genio!!
this is simply beautiful
I love this
this whole experience is very uncomfortable, in a good way, but still both audio and visuals are extremely offputting
Gorgeous visual. Incredibly eerie yet catchy song. So necessary
Bewel & Emboss
the fuckin bevels look super awkward and strange... i love it
The opening melody reminds of Sparring Partner by Paolo Conte
I'm confused but intriuged
dam this gon take some getting used to for me. followed this guy pretty closely back when he was more associated with the noise/synth scene.
Hi
Dan always does the unexpected. A ballad about the Thing is a great example of that.
If this ain't playing at my funeral I ain't going
Not exactly Replica, but ok
It's mad. And so, so beautiful.
The best OPN songs are the ones you think are shite at first
Anyone else get an early 2000s Coil vibe from this?
NO.
If anything hes apeing rotorvator with the harpsichord sounding stuff
The 2nd half of Black Snow gives me really strong Coil vibes too
huh. never pieced the two together till now
retroguard kinda...but coil were avantguard in 80s.
This is so fuging Hardcore - All of it.
