she was nervous, yes.. and her not being able to answer well her wild card interview is understable as it was an on the spot question, but her top 20 advocacy speech? we all know the candidates prepared for it, she even had it memorized.. but after watching her deliver it, there’s just no coherence in what she was trying to say.. i don’t know if she forgot a sentence or two but it seems like it.. anyway, i still believe she’s one of the most beautiful filipinas to represent the country.. :)
Ryan chow nope, she did great! she would have been a very beautiful Miss U. the judges are bias, they dont like PH winning again & again, they cannot accept that how PH have mastered their own playing field.

They don’t have the right to bash Gazini. She faced many challenges already with her trainings, catwalks and joining this contest. Its already a great feat and Gazini did well. Top 20 and Best National costume is already an achievement in itself.

@@hellokitty-uk9zq her statement was good it talks about ageism which is a pretty unique advocacy, her delivery though was not. she stuttered, her voice was shaky, and her voice went deep which may indicate nervousness.

Jeungri Oppa Gazini did fine, the judges are bias to US they had to keep her included even in Top10. why only 2 in Asia. that pageant is not about wholistic beauty anymore better they change to Quiz bee contest.

RutherFord Camerino there are no biases here. Miss USA is a lawyer. Just to let you know, there are three criterias to be judged here. The Prelim Interview, SS and Evening gown prelims. And I think Gazini has a low score in prelim interview based on how she responds to the question. Prelin Interview has the highes percentage conpared to SS and Evening gown.
@@Luna_WQ917 just admit that gazini didn't do as well as the other ladies. complaining about the speaking part making it a quiz bee? that's included in being miss universe, they HAVE to be eloquent and articulate, not just physically beautiful like you want.
So sad to watch 🥺. Rumors say she was trained non stop for a back2back and I really do feel like she felt pressured to do so. Not only from her team but from the fans as well. Such a shame because a beautiful lady with an amazing background such as Gazini would’ve done so much better if she was more relaxed and confident in herself.
Guys, let’s stop pressuring our queens. Let’s just support and let them know that it’s ok if they do not win. Let your queen know that you are already happy with the way she is representing your country.

Oo nga lahat ng contestant may glitters at kumikinang sa kanya mukang tinipid tela lang. Walang beads na nilagay. Hay naku carey santiago. Tska muntik ng pang long gown hhaha. Cocktail dress pa lang eh pag ganyan. Hay ewan.

@@teamviceion6809 pati rin po yung choice of words and sentence structure may problema. Example, ano ba meaning ng "stigma between ageism, poverty, exclusivity, and invincibility?" Senseless yung phrase. Sana sinimplihan na lang yung sagot, direct to the point and heartfelt.
The gift she really only wanted was not the Miss Universe crown, but to meet her father. And she got it!!!
We need to show the world how we support Gazini even if she didn't win. Because as Filipinos we don't turn our backs on people when they need us most. I hope TH-camrs will film Gazinis homecoming in Cebu showing celebration of Gazinis triumphs in life. Mabuhay Gazini!

She is stunning. However, the answer to the question was full of herself. It is not so much about the name but the impact that she can do with the name Gazini. It was a job interview as an ambassador..still proud of her.

Do you know why she did not got into Asia & Africa region's Top 5? It was because of the preliminary heavy looking fabric gown. Gazini herself was not highlighted much, her very beautiful face and curvy body. She was overwhelmed by that golden and seemingly a national costume instead of a dress. It really looks heavy and she couldn't move freely to execute her MU moves. Moreover she's like she was just modelling the dress.
Otherwise, with her speech it was obvious that she memorized it and she did mumbled. Nervousness pulled her down a little to deliver her speech naturally. Yet, her over-all MU performance is still commendable.

May point ka din isa din.siguro yun pero in general or technically ito para lng sa akin ha napakaimportante ng free speech kasi kung awra at ganda ang titingnan mo ang daming sumemplang sa pagrampa kagaya ng indonesia pero tingnan mo the way she delivered her speech tsaka yung thailand alam mong palaban ang boses nila walang kaabog abog si gazini kasi kitang kita mo sa knya ang kaba sa 2nd free speech nya may part pa dun na parang napabuntong hininga pa sya. Yan pa nman ang pinaka importante sa lahat at kailangan mafeel din ng mga judges na kusa ng nalabas sa bibig mo yung sinasabi mo na hindi mukhang inaral at minemorize mo lng. This is the aspect Gazini is missing... physical beauty she got it , no question. Nevertheless, she tried and we all could see that and overall performance, she did well; just not outstanding.

The Miss Universe organization hinted that they want someone who is more of a spokesperson and not a model. Unfortunately Gazini is more of a model being absolutely freaking gorgeous and not much of a spokesperson or as eloquent as the other candidates. Her opening statement sentences seemed like they were delivered out of order and contrived - she was so uneasy,. It was painful to watch honestly - I felt for her...

@@aarongarcia9945 I would guess its a combination of everything that lead up to that moment.. Nerves, uncertainty, the weight of her country, expectations... But maybe also because English is not her first language. Where she places emphasis and pauses in her sentences and her sentence structure is a bit confusing. So her message is not coming across. To be honest the only thing I remember distinctly in her opening statement was " THE WORLD IS AGING"... and I was taken aback cause it sounded so apocalyptic and doomsday like, not at all uplifting..
LMAO now that you mentioned it, I do agree. The content or choice of words should have been simple and have impact. Also, I was cringing the whole time because she didn’t sound sure(confident) with her delivery. I don’t know why though, she should have practised this everyday up to the pageant night that she didn’t even need to think for the words but rather they should just come out easily and naturally. She looked like she was memorizing and in fact forgot a few lines or two. I felt bad because I wanted her to make it to top 10. Arrrgh
She could have just started her message with simple statements like relatable to her life. I was raised by a single mom, and so my grandparents took care of me and nurtured me... then the advocacy which from her heart....
Reflect and Inspire yeah which is relatable to black people for most black are raised by single woman only which few judges were black.

I'm a HUGE fan of hers since BB Pilipinas (yes, I liked her more than Patch). But let BB Pilipinas take this experience as a lesson that although she is bright and intelligent in her own way, we need someone strong in ALL aspects (beauty, brains, communication/social skills, and advocacy) in order to make it far at Miss Universe. Gazini's best asset was her beauty and that was her downfall. There needs to be a strong balance, and BB Pilipinas needs to stop sending someone to Miss Universe that they feel is the prettiest...because Miss Universe is about so much more than that.

The contestants this year were all amazing, almost all are beautiful and well articulate. It is really tough fight. Miss universe bar is so high now. You cannot be just beautiful, you need to have essence and very smart as well, a complete package. The top 5 did really amazing job answering the question it is really hard to choose. That is why they stop saying the most beautiful women, they change it the most outstanding women in the world, which is higher.
I think showing over confidence is counter-productive.

Well top 20 wasn't bad atleast she's in that spot. Imagine among other MU contender she's still there? So that's pretty good enough than nothing at all. Anyway not winning the MU doesn't mean she's left behind. She,can still go on with her life
Also, it's a one man sport. No one should blame Gazini for not winning another crown. If they do, they should then at least try speaking in a foreign language in front of BILLIONS OF PEOPLE.

Although Gazini didn't make it to the top 10,it's not because of her lack of effort.To be honest,she already stood out the most from the beginning.I know that she give her best but i guess,that wasn't good enough.I'm still proud of her,We already won last year,let's give some other countries the chance as well.And besides,it's not the end of miss universe,we got lots of chances and preparations for the next competition.☺☺

Reasons for Gazini's epic fail at MU: 1) Social media hype & her popularity made her "over confident" that even if she didn't give her 100% at the prelims, she would make it to top 5 2) Purple gown was really a standout coz it was "terribly & overly" done 3) Obviously public speaking was her weakness aggravated by her eagerness & again overconfidence to win the crown. Lessons learned for the PH to stay humble & grounded & not let popularity get into our heads. For next year, hope we can send a candidate not just with a beautiful face but is able to speak out her mind yet kept grounded by her heart . MU is looking for an ambassador & a role model not just a gorgeous face. Sorry my fellow Filipinos but we failed big time today to teach us to be humble once again..... ❤️❤️❤️

Maybe, and it’s a big maybe, she’d make it to gown but Madison has trump era written all over her and she still made it to 1st runner up in img era. Puerto Rico, Thailand, and France would likely make it further.

i've always thought that the q & a/speaking part would be her downfall, there's this pa-sweet/patweetums side of her and it's just not for miss universe.. her top 20 speech was a bit forced too and didn't seem sincere.. it might also be because of the pressure of bringing a back to back crown.. nevertheless., she did her best and we should be proud of her..

The colour was pretty, but the lack of any sparkle was a bit disappointing.
I hope this will serve as a lesson to us “Filipinos” that we should not be overconfident with online votes but rather we should concentrate, persevere and work hard. A good example is Pia Wurtsbach because all throughout her journey she had her notebook with her and keep studying possible answers for difficult questions. We should not speculate winning but work hard and keep our feet on the ground. This is not to bash Gazini but we all know that South Africa truly deserves it. The top 3 are humble and intelligent. Kudos Ms South Africa
