Man, Im still shocked by the fact they kept that Sid match going after his leg was torn in two. He's practically suffering in the ring and can't move and WCW says "We have to fill the time, do something, anything!" instead of getting this man the medical help he needs.
WCW made some awful decisions for the wrestlers. Sid had gone on record he wasn't comfortable doing top-rope moves, but they pushed the 'top rope boot' and the axehandle on him. Goldberg has been on record saying they'd 'almost threatened' him that he had to do that kick on Hart, even though he had mentioned many times that he wasn't comfortable with kicks. AWFUL decisions by the back-of-house.
I will always defend the Fingerpoke of Doom. It was on a TV match, not a PPV. And the match wasn't even announced in advance. Sting was still wrestling lengthy matches long after Starrcade 97, ones in which he was made to look pathetically weak compared to his 96-97 iteration. Wouldn't it have been easier and less laborious for him to be booked into quicker, shorter matches in which he easily dismissed his opponents? There’s a reason the finish of that scaffold match was basically nonexistent. Traditionally you win a scaffold match by throwing your opponent off of it, but apparently none of the wrestlers involved in the Great American Bash ‘91 match wanted to take that bump (most wrestlers hated working scaffold matches when they were in fashion for that exact reason) because it was changed to “capture the flag” rules. After some of his match performances, he should have asked the crowd to "Please Forgive Me". Because watching Brian Adams matches in WCW was definitely not "Heaven".
I was front row at the Uncensored cage match. After the pay per view was more entertaining than anything on the show. They partied at the hotel bar and posed for pictures. Everyone except Bischoff and Brutus Beefcake (Apocalypse or whatever they were calling him) but everyone else was super cool

Honestly, I didn't mind the cage match with Hogan and macho versus the ultimate solution and z gangster. Don't get me wrong. It was not a good cage match but I liked the idea but as usual poorly orchestrated by WCW. The cage was not built well at all but I give it credit for its originality.
we aren't going to mention that Chono was wrestling with a broken neck in that match? I mean, I am with you, why was it 22 minutes? But there is a reason two of the original daddies of workrate are wrestling that way. And the reason is ... Steve Austin piledrived Chono and fucked it up.
Weak: Hogan and Savage actually won that cage match against TATEH, and there's no way Hogan/Warrior II is the worst WCW match ever, even discounting Fingerpoke.
It's weird to see Sting talking into the mic. To be fair, both networks had their share of dud matches on a regular basis until WWF really started to pick up steam. But even then, there's always going to be filler matches.
It's fresh in my mind because I just watched this PPV, but the Roddy Piper vs. Hulk Hogan match from Halloween Havoc 1997 is hilariously bad. So plodding with nothing happening, culminating in Roddy Piper being handcuffed to the cage, a fan getting the piss beat out of him, and the match just.... ending... somehow?
Rude vs Chono was bad because on September 23, 1992 in Yokohama Chono defended the NWA World title against Austin, during which Austin botched a piledriver on Chono, compressing the discs in his neck. Chono continued to wrestle and headline shows before he dropped the title to Mutoh at the January 4th Tokyo Dome show. As a side note, Chono and Rude tore the house down in the finals of the G1 Climax on August 12, 1992 at the Ryogoku, so they were capable of having much better matches, but with Chono having a bum neck that needed surgery, it reduced what could have been a classic rematch into a snooze fest.
I literally feel like I am experiencing a Mandela Effect thing with the Sid injury. I really have a lot of recollection of the match where Sid had the rubber band leg thing going on was a match with him against Hogan. Also, I like beer, so there is that against me. 🤟🤣🤟
The worst match in my opinion is Kevin Nash vs Goldberg vs Scott Steiner at New Blood Rising. Goldberg going against the script, commentary completely shattering kayfabe, Vince Russo, Madajah kept interfering, 75% was Nash vs Steiner in an awkward and poor planned match and Goldberg weng against the script. Just plain horrible
Countdown is going on as I type. Sting vs Hogan is my pick for worst WCW match. They promoted the thing for almost 2 years then changed it at the last second so that it specifically robbed everybody of what they’d promoted. Then they tried to pretend that the match did deliver what they promoted. Then they had 2 rematches in less than a month! Just the worst match ever. Killed Sting and killed WCW really. Alot of more memeable stuff came after it like the Fingerpoke of Doom but Starrcade is what finally ruined WCW.
that sting vs vampiro angle was crazy you consider the graveyard match or the time sting was left dangling on a rope covered in a red like fluid just lazy writing. vince russo just ends it with setting stuntman on fire and throwing him off a scaffold come one that it crazy. as for sid that was unforgivable they forced him into doing top rope jumps that when he gets hurt instead of ending the match straight away they go on with the mediocre show.
If anyone has free time on their hands, check out Bryan and Vinny's WCW Nitro reviews, they're hysterical! They had no idea how much bad wrestling they watched! There's a legendary bad match on a November 1999 between Bam Bam Bigelow and Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs in a Hardcore Match that I kid you not, ENDED IN A COUNT OUT BECAUSE BAM BAM HAD TO HELP KIMBERLY PAGE! Think about it! A Hardcore match, which includes FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE, ended in a count out! As bad as WWE has been in the past decade, at least the problem with WWE has been that it's boring, WCW was so bad, it's legit hilarious! It's so much worse than the little that I remember! In fact, Nitros are worse than most of the PPV's!
I must point out how impressive it is that Adam and the crew managed to narrow it down to just 10 matches
Indeed and some who missed out are mindboggling

I can see Vampiro not being Vince's cup of tea, so maybe it wasn't just Jericho not wanting him in.
Why do they never do as many "Worst WWE" lists? WWE has had years and years of WAY more b.s than WCW. I'll tell you why - it's because these WhatCulture/Cultaholic marks are all new wrestling fans who started watching during the Cena era & grew up believing those WWE propaganda dvds.
WWE 1999 alone could fill out a video.
@@dhenderson1810 okay, but WWE's super-cringey PG era could probably be an entire series.
No chamber of horrors match at Halloween Havoc 91?
Now I know why Brian Adams never stopped a match to sing "Everything I do (I Do It For You)"!
I was at that GAB in 2000, Baltimore...I thought it was awesome.
Whats ridiculous most of the guys on this list were amazing workers. Rude and Chono should have had a banger.
Clean shaven Rick Rude doesn’t feel right
God, just looking at the pics I wanna screm "GET SID A STRETCHER AND TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL FFS!!".
Edit: 6:39 - Oh, I guess WCW not getting Sid a stretcher was just a thing, then.
Really..."The Alliance To End Hulkamania"??? Is like if you replace the name "The Nexus" in 2010, and call them since their debut "The Rookies Who Love To Beat Up John Cena." 🙄
I was there for the Hogan Savage cage match in Mobile AL. The crowd was loud and into the match. Guess it didn't translate to tv
good video
Where is Tank Abbott vs. Big Al from Superbrawl 2000?!
Not in the bottom 10, obviously.
Should be in the bottom 10
If you think about it Hogan's whole character didn't change just his wardrobe did...
He was always a douchey face who stole people girls with his lustful eyes, complained when his friends outshines him....threw tantrums after legitimately losing matches
He literally just went from red and yellow to black and white to signify "boo this heel man" when he was a terrible hero and a worse villain cause it was his Backstage policy and politics on full display
Hogan sucks
Get ready for the Hogan marks to scream at you about how he's the reason why you watch wrestling.
@Crow Father02 became a fan in 93 perfect time as a young canadian to find a hero who Albeit is a little complainy so they can say why Hogan got them into whatever I watched for Bret
@@wbcwinnipegbeltcollector I definitely didn't start watching because of Hogan. In fact, I didn't start watching for any specific wrestler. I watched because my cousin did.
@@crowfather0249It's true, though.
I laughed way too many times just listening to all the descriptions of these matches. Amazing how often hogan was involved. I feel sorry for Vampiro, he could have been a good worker.
I think vampiro should retire
Anybody else notice the Waylon Mercy looking guy in the crowd for the Rude vs Chono match?
Vince Russo winning the championship Hogan versus Warrior Hogan vs. Piper Crush versus Mongo 98 5 Star Classic match right there brother
Russo winning the championship was a knock on Vince McMahon winning the WWF Title on Smackdown in 1999.
I'm a little surprised the Chamber of Horrors from Halloween Havoc 91 didn't make the list.
Or the Coal Miners Glove match between Sting and Jake Roberts the following year .
Ah WCW…….the ‘Spinal Tap’ of wrestling franchises.
So plodding with nothing happening, culminating in Roddy Piper being handcuffed to the cage, a fan getting the piss beat out of him, and the match just.... ending... somehow?
Before watching: Hogan Warrior at Halloween Havoc has to be #1. It was terrible and went on forever.
The amount of pain the Cultaholic crew put themselves through to make this list. Are you guys okay?
And then, the DQ finish had Cowboy Bill Watts' rules all over it (the top rope one).
@@NcWcN1 Technically, it had Dusty's name all over it, being the Dusty Finish and all.
You know it’s bad when they need stunt doubles for wrestling matches.
And of course the obvious question is how does Rick Rude vs Masahiro Chono not rule like mad and instead stink the joint out?
WCW was legendary
Legendary at being shit
Would lumping all of the "Thing on a pole" matches count as a single entry
4:10 You mean uninterested. Disinterested isn't a synonym of uninterested.
I have no idea why WCW thought Hog/Road Wild was a good idea for a wrestling show. I have even less of an idea why they decided to do it 3 times.
I literally feel like I am experiencing a Mandela Effect thing with the Sid injury. I really have a lot of recollection of the match where Sid had the rubber band leg thing going on was a match with him against Hogan. Also, I like beer, so there is that against me. 🤟🤣🤟
Definitely knew what 10 would be. That was putrid. The segment where Warrior made his debut had some good parts but it went downhill fast.
It know Crush's real name actually is Brian Adams, but he should have switched it up somehow, maybe call himself Big Brian Adams or something
Same as the Roman v Cody WM 39 main event.
At least WWE corrected their error at WM40.
1998 seems like a very bad year for WCW
that sting vs vampiro angle was crazy you consider the graveyard match or the time sting was left dangling on a rope covered in a red like fluid just lazy writing. vince russo just ends it with setting stuntman on fire and throwing him off a scaffold come one that it crazy.
as for sid that was unforgivable they forced him into doing top rope jumps that when he gets hurt instead of ending the match straight away they go on with the mediocre show.
Johnny ace for you. He told sid to take the bump. Sid didnt feel good about it and warned ace. Johnnybtold him to do it anyway.
B&V Nitro reviews are my go-to time wasters when I want something funny to listen to in the background. That, or their Impact/TNA reviews.
Not one pole match, that’s surprising
What is the leaked hogan audio tape he was talking about?
The one where Hogan apparently says a world that triggers some people enough to treat him worse than Hitler.
@@dhenderson1810calling people an ethnic slur usually does warrant people treating you like a massive racist
Even the failing WCW was better than the WWE now to me.
WCW was a lunatic asylum.
I was at the scope during sting vampiro fued. It wasn't good. Vampiro kept calling him Steve.
