Yup, I made the same realization. 😢 I'm at least 88% sure they would've gotten one in, had it not been there. (44x2=88 😊) However, in fairness, they probably didn't realize it protruded as I bet initially, they had the board level while putting the cup in. So it wasn't until they gave the wood an incline, that the cup protruded...
I reckon still none would've gone in. Even though the ramp around the cup did slow the balls somewhat...most were still flying by very quickly. Especially judging by the one that smashed off the pin super fast. But maybe so.
Great vid! I reckon you can see in the replays at the end that the golf hole was ever so slightly raised above the wood plank which popped up a few ones that could otherwise have gone in - a shame!
We did a little test and it did work, probably our biggest problem was that the golf balls came in with way too much pace. For some reason much faster than the individual putts 🤷🏻♂️ Oh well, we had fun 😂

I can head up in spring / summer and see if I can find a few. I live about 30 miles west of the Utah Olympic Park park up in Kimball Junction. Granted, it says "Park City" as the address, but it's Kimball Junction, as opposed to Historic Park City.

What's kinda cool is that you can see how seemingly random events still follow statistical trends. Like you can't predict how one ball will behave but you can see how they all move in the sort of cloud together.
And on the 2000 golf balls the front edge of the cup was taller than the plywood green so anything that would've rolled into the cup bounced off instead.

I noticed that, too. However, those balls were coming down with PACE and would've had to hit the pin and drop in perfectly.
