I was watching a movie entitled "The Last Word" and this song featured in it. Upon research,I discovered that it was sung by a Zambian Band the Salty Dog during the 1970s.I believe this Band is no longer in existence.Would like to have more information about it.
This band produced only one album and i used to listen to as teenage in 70s on Radio Zambia and reminds of a DJ called Leonard Kantumoya who used to refer to the band in his Zambian Language as ' Kawa Munya'. Occasionally the song would play on Zambian Radio but only discovered it on You Tube recently and can't stop listening to it.
I grew up in Zambia during the Zamrock era (1973 - 1978/79), and remember it all. After my family and I left the country in the 80's, I recall how I would try explaining to friends years later about the exciting music Zambia produced in the 70s. Never thought I would get to hear these songs again after all these years. They still sound as great as ever.
The Moe, great story share.... something about the '70's and the great music. This song has that true flavour.and enjoyed reading your connection. ~ Canada
Zambia was under English control. These guys got all that English music, just like we in the west did. When they gained independence, they played the music they grew up with, but with that Zambian feel and groove. It didn't last long, but Zamrock is amazing! I love the super basic production qualities too...
As a Zambian raised in the in the diaspora it’s been a amazing rediscovering my culture and talking to my father about it.

Found this CD at a shop in Denton Texas today, what a hidden gem!
This is probably one of my favourite songs
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Really enjoying Zamrock with fabulous nostalgia
This is really really good...💥💥💥💥💥
I found this through listening to Mike Nyoni and Ngozi Family. Beautiful non pretentious lyrics and mesmeric guitar riffs, sums up Zambian rockers.
I remember this beat playing on Zambia Broadcasting Service then. Fond memories.
Amazing song!
Absolutely fantabulous
Thank you
Yeah this rocks
The chord progression here is similar to the songs “It Don’t Come Easy” by Ringo Starr and “Let It Rain”by Eric Clapton (D Am C G D)
Yes! Oh man, I saw the last word and couldn't get this song out of my head ALL DAY.
