    I've ridden (and love) my 2021 850 V7 for three years (which I understand puts out a decent chunk of additional power over the previous 750s and is a little free-er revving) to the point where I took ownership of a V100 last week. 350 miles later, I love the V100 just as much! If you get them (and not everybody does), these Guzzis are addictive...

      Man, you’re making me really jealous. I really like the V100, especially the black one!

    Owning and riding one of these becomes a sort of dance. They want to be treated a certain way and once you figure it out there’s nothing else like it on a twisty back road. I wouldn’t trade mine for the world.

      I hope I did justice, but I’m sure long-term motor ship you would have more insight! I was a little bit, surprised about how connected and awesome this machine feels!

    I have one, and that clutch is just too, too Heavy! makes the bike difficult to ride! I wish it was a way to soften it up! I,m thinking of getting rid of mine because of that damn hard heavy clutch!

      I feel ya on that. You could look into a hydrolic clutch?

    Review… see my other comments. Beautiful and stylish … not a modern bike. It is not up to trips on interstate . The grabby clutch is hard to deal with. The fact that this year Moto Guzzi forgot to put in crankshaft thrust bears is less confidence inspiring… though the Stornello I have did not have this problem. The clutch operation control is crazy Rube Goldberg design… and no one understands how it should be adjusted… not even dealers. Because of the issue with crankshaft thrust I had to measure end play mine was .0067” play, yay thrust bearing installed. Normal is axial play of crankshaft like .004” - .012” max… if bearing is in place… over .012” end play can slow or more… this means you have a junk from factory engine. Don’t bother trying to disassemble and fix because you need new cases, oil pump, bearings, thrust bearing, and likely crankshaft. Why the crank will when bike is shifted… it will machine a new asshole through the cases. The cases are marginal for 50 hp road vehicle. Brakes, fit and finish great. Handling great if you have tight spindle bearing. The transmission and final drive are old school and clunky… to fix this Redline oil sells shockproof transmission and differential oil. All the bull about over filling oil is crap the dip stick is accurate if you hold the bike vertically level. Get into crash or have something stolen… don’t. Parts are expensive, hard to find and take months from factory. That exhaust is $2400 alone
    Back to CLUTCH… it MUST BE ADJUSTED WITH ZERO PLAY OR LITTLE BIT OF PRELOAD… IF YOU HAVE ANY PLAY IT WILL DIE IN SHORT ORDER… DO NOT ADJUST THE PIVOT ADJUSTMENT NUT AND SCREW ARE LOCTITED TOGETHER FOR A REASON ->THEY ARE FACTORY SET-> DA NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ADJUSTED, ADJUST ONLY THE CABLE END AT HANDLE BAR. YOU NEED PRELOAD OF ABOUT 20 to 50 LBS. AXIAL FORCE ON THE CLUTCH OPERATING SHAFT TO PREVENT THE FAILURE OF THE ROLLAR THRUST BEARING AND THE CENTER OPERATING SHAFT FROM SLIPPING AND WEARING A HOLE THOUGH YOUR CLUTCH PLATE CONE YOU WILL ALSO HAVE GRABBY CLUCH OPERATION IF THIS PRELOAD OF THE CLUTCH OPERATING ROD IS NOT KEPT UP. NOTE THE LEVERAGE OF THE HAND LEVER LENGHT AND PIVOT TO CABLE ATTACHMENT POINT OVERCOME THE CLUTCH NEED PRELOAD.
    Ok why you need this is rolling element bearings like the clutch throw out or operating rod bearing need to have load to maintain rolling operation of the bearing, without some preload the rollers will skid then dig holes in the thrust washers of the bearing. Also, the clutch operating shaft which operates inside a hole though the transmission main shaft on the center pressure plate cone where its forward end rides this must be dry and not lubricated where the shaft forward end contacts the cone and where the shaft contacts the body of the thrust bearing. If the shaft seals allow transmission fluid to leak on this contact points or you stupidly lube… you will be doing an 18 hour service procedure and spending a lot of money buying clutch components that may take 9 months of wait time. Nearly every, Guzzi video has this vital clutch adjustment procedure wrong wrong wrong and will cause premature failure and jittery grabby clutch operation. And, that will result in all these components replacement and the clutch disk and flywheel if you let it judder or grab too long. That 18 hour service procedure if you have not done a dozen times before will take you 36 hours… to get to clutch the entire bike must come apart. One more comment the crankshaft thrust bearing is not a full circle bearing only about a half circle. Ah how to describe well how’s this…

      Ok… diagnosing by listening to bike idle in neutral problems and with bad clutch adjustment sounds like this… th-cam.com/video/y752py5YY1g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mw-XnOwIFjGRKxLf or this video these are bad clutch adjust that will destroy motorcycle.
      This is the pivot Never Adjust locktited by factory for a reason DO NOT ADJUST THIS… th-cam.com/video/dvreCGWPw8U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-pSifRiV4xLooXte
      EITHER issue or in correct clutch adjustment in very short you will be doing an 18 hour for expert Moto Guzzi service and buying new clutch th-cam.com/video/dvreCGWPw8U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-pSifRiV4xLooXte

      🤔 not sure what you mean? Half thanks I guess lol. I’ve owned a few Moto Guzzi’s. I’ve ridden this bike for over a week daily for hundreds of miles. Do I know all about it, of course not, is it easy to get some main impressions, of course! Ive owned and rode 100’s of motorcycles. I rode this exact bike over a week daily hundres of miles and me showing that would be boring. The fact that this motorcycle is SO confidence inspiring speaks volumes to the character. But take it for what it is, just a dude sharing what this bike feels like like to him. Cheers

    I loved my V7 but after a while it started to feel a bit small. Handled great and was a blast to ride. Bumped up to the Audace but that was way too much of a beast for my liking. Looked great but it was heavy and not the easiest to move around. Love the Guzzis and it always surprises me that more are not on the road.

      So you have a too small and a too big Guzzi? What would be the middle Right size for you? 😎

      @mart7404 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MCCJustMotos Ha. great question. Well if the V7 was just slightly taller it would suit me perfect. I appreciate its flat seat which I can slide back on when needed but just a tad too low and the power is fine. I settled for an Aprilia Tuareg in the meantime. Some day I will move to Guzzi #4

    I rented a 2018 V7 III when I was in North Carolina. Such a fun bike and I really want to add one (or similar) to the garage. I’m just drawn to bikes with character and Moto Guzzis seem to have that in spades.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring something similar back. A scrambler is probably in the hopper. I have seen on TH-cam there is a lower CC in development now they can share some of Aprillia’s tech. Love Guzzi.

    I didn't realise that altitude affected the power of the engine. I presume it's due to the air being thinner at higher altitudes.

    • @MCCJustMotos
      @MCCJustMotos  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, without being super technical, there’s less fuel being delivered to the motorcycle at altitude. The computer does that to make sure the air fuel mixture ratio is correct if there’s less overall air volume there’s less overall fuel volume.

    I have this bike bought two years ago 1200miles,2016 Moto Guzzi Stornello V7ii. Three previous owners; rich guy bought new 300 miles had the first service done early, traded to Harley Dealer owner kept as his vehicle put 800 miles over 4 years, sold to motorcycle bum in his 300 miles, before trading back to Harley dealer… the joker removed the original fenders, put fender delet kits on, eBay Chinese single LEDs for running tail and turn and headlight… butchered wiring. Had a 700 mile trip drive home in 95 degree heat and 90% humidity. Not used to driving in the South’s late summer heat, forgot my meds… combined with heat too much. Clutch grabby as hell, bar wobble ( later at home found loose steering bearing), and was delivered filthy. Dealer instilled on a supplemental warrenty due to that year Moto Guzzi forgot instal of thrust bearings. Could not get checked out on way home.
    Eventful trip too hot too tired too stressed from wobble and clutch, pulled into Hampton inn at about 10:30pm after late start in rush hour traffic, hot worn tired, little shaky. Parked in hotel portico heading into a support pillar put front wheel going in against curb, turned bike off clutch grabbed as last dying rev stopped. As the clutch grab but the heavy flywheel unexpectantly propelled front tire over curb with me still seated, then the 18” from the curb to pillar, and scrambling up the pillar five feet until stopped by the rear tire trying to jump curb too. Balanced in my seat near vertical stopped in the attempt to scramble the stone pillar. After about 10 seconds fell left with full weight of bike and me landing on my left forearm against the curb edge. Did not bruise or break arm… you know Dainese crash jacket with the instant hardening rubber armor insert saving my arm and day. Now pinned down with full bike weight on my arm some of the hotel staff on smoke break rushed to my rescue. Damage bike tiny pin sized from sand grain on mirror mount end on grips of handle bar left side. No injury saved by the crash hardening armor… but shaken. And, one burned hand of one of hotel staff from grabbing header pipe while righting bike.
    In process of fixing wiring with intel of M- unit, and adding lights, new JW Speaker adaptive head light, along with new tires, tighten steering head, even order a set of new lightweight thinner fenders from Guzzi, and luggage rack, new Sato rear sets as originals stolen from my garage by fired gardener.

      The thing about those single LED lights the bum guy got off eBay…. I had two incidents that first night with semi trucks not seeing me as they came up behind me, nearly running over me. Really scary. I had promised my 91 yrs old mom whom I care for to drive the speed limit. Well when trucks are going 15mph over, and don’t see you… or are on Facebook chatting or something it is scary. These took either full power acceleration or running off on to shoulder. DON’T put that crap on your bike! I ended up having to go to emergency room in Huntington WV VA… had withdrawal from my medications real bad. They discharged me after midnight into violent wind and rain with tornado warning. The path down from the hospital was very tight and windy… somehow picked up people riding my tail… I could bearly see ahead. Had to go on freeway backtracking over some narrow scary construction with high drop off to get to a hotel. Why did’t the ER check me in for the rest of night? I was still quite shaky and weak from the withdrawal. On the trip I got lost 12 times. Had cops follow for many miles several times… because of those damn weak LEDs.
