greetings from Argentina
Thanks for uploading Mike. I was contemplating digitising my mine - you saved me a job. I first bought this LP as a teenager. It's where my fondness for those edgy drawbars began. Still love that sound. I must see if I can find a working Kawai from this era.
Thanks Mike - One of my favourite organs, great organist, great guy - Seen him play several times back in 1970s. It's a shame we don't get organ demos / concerts available regularly anymore.
Love this. I have this organ
Good Sound !
This was a nice organ back in the day. Thanks for putting this on youtube!
Muy buen sonido!
Kawai was not bad!
Some years ago I played myself at a Kawai and I liked it.
Really good organ sound! Thx
The leslie must have been external, right? NO internal leslie can go this fast?
Mike...thanks for posting this recording....dynamite!!.....BUT, correct me if I'm wrong, (it is not unusual for two or more people to have the same name), BUT...in this instance...Jimmy Smith, the infamous organist, doesn't look at all like the photo of the guy on the bottom left corner of the cover of this album. (Also the hands on the keyboard confirm this.)
Even though the guy is probably not the Jimmy Smith I've heard recordings of, the playing is top notch, and the organ sounds fantastic. AND I tried to hear real drums and added instruments, usually heard on recordings like this, but if they were there, they weren't audible. Thanks again..
Yes, the organist on this recording is often referred to as 'Jimmy Smith UK' 🙂Both Jimmy Smiths are great organists in their own right!
Please, could someone tell me the song at 18:48? Thank you very much in advance.
It’s “Even Now” by Barry Manilow :)
@@TheHallelujahTime Thank you very much, Richard!
