I've been wearing them since 1985. Still have those 85s with Original Ugg Australia on the heel. I have been a long time member of the surf culture. Times have changed and we live in a world where ignorant people believe Sheepskin boots are for women. Sheep farmers, military pilots and soon after, surfers all wore sheepskin boots starting around the turn of the 20th century to the present. All men. The original owner of the company is a guy, Brian Smith, from Australia. In 1978, he started as a supplier to the west coast for a brand called Country Leather, eventually starting his own brand production in 1985.
I even have an original late 70s hiker model of Country Leather Uggs that are still in brand new condition.

Originally these boots were made specifically for Men!
You’re right, however, you still don’t see men wearing them, mostly females (I want a pair though, not gonna lie). I feel like I would be roasted for wearing them.

At first people was 😟 why ??? But after that a colleague bought them in black and … we are so happy because they are comfy … easy to wear and plus you got that unique style ...jeans or chinos … right onnnn
So here is what happened. These boots were made for west coast surfer men looking to get their feet warm after a cold session. Surfers girlfriends hijacked these boots because they’re soft, warm, and cozy. Since then they have become iconic for woman. But none the less, these are men’s boots. I know that’s hard to fathom because it’s become a woman’s iconic boot, but that’s because they stole another one of us guys T-shirt, pants, hat etc. but yes these are guys relaxation boots. Made for guys and stole by girls. Cheers 🍻
No different then what happend to chuck Taylors they were made for a man but now i only see girls or the beta type wearing them
These boots are perfect for the sand dunes like glamis, when your going in and out of your motor home or toy hauler just relaxing around the campfire at night are perfect, no socks needed...

Excellent Boots!!!!! YES!!!! Absolutely feels like your most comfortable house shoes that's why I love them! Easy to slip on. I'm a former professional dancer/professor and always used going barefoot so regular boots/shoes always felt too tight/heavy and confining. I realize that's how a regular shoe/boot should feel. I'm in my 60s and I've gone through two pairs and I'm getting my 3rd but I'm trying to find them less expensive. Many copies. but I want the Australian. Always wore OUTSIDE never in the house and they wore great! Who cares about what's stylish?!?! Get them! lol

You bought the Chinese made fake's, the real one's are called Uggs since1974. They are made in Australia with real Merino sheepskin, no glued lining, a proper sole and quality all round.

They are made from twinface sheepskin-the inside wool is not a lining. It is literally sheepskin turned inside out.

They are house slippers. I just bought some a few days ago, and they are amazing! But, and I understand lots of people will disagree, but they should not be worn outside. And besides, I have Dr. Martens to wear outside lol
I decided to buy my Uggs for their longevity, I was always buying the same style in cheaper slippers that would crap out before winter was even over, and I got sick of spending $50 every year, so it made sense to invest in a decent pair of slippers that might even last me the rest of my life.
Also, there are sheep wool inserts that can be removed and washed, that are cheap enough to be replaced whenever needed.

You're on here roasting Uggs but you haven't even researched their boots. I don't own a pair yet but I have researched them and their boots are made to wear without socks. Their wool is designed to wear without socks. The wool regulates to your body temperature. Your feet should not stink in these boots.
I understand your premise for disliking these boots but at least have valid arguments and research. They’re literally designed to be worn barefoot.
UGG boots were made to check the surf in the morning. They are outdoor slippers.

I wish Ugg would make a version of these with an outdoor sole. I'd hit them with some sno-seal and they'd be the perfect bomb around town winter boots.

Dedicated hunting boots are obscenely expensive. A $30 pair of US-made Honeywell PVC farm boots are just as quiet, just as rugged, and keep you just as dry.

The one problem with UGGS are the soles. They don’t grip well on on ice. THEY SUCK FOR ICE. Now, there are UGGS that have ACTUAL RUBBER SOLES and those are WAY BETTER for ice.
UGGs with non rubber soles cost like Canadian $150
UGGs with rubber soles cost like Canadian $300.

Derrr, Uggs (or Uglies) are house boots/ slippers. They are an Australian tradition and they are for inside. PS. I think the one being reviewed here are American boots made in China. (Ugg is a noun in Australian but a US company patened the word so Australians can sell in the US. Yah for free trade!)

Hey bud, what boot would you recommend for a Mailman? Walk 11-13 miles per day and it HAS to be waterproof. It also has to be black per usps guidelines. Maybe a winter and summer option.
I don't know if you got this figured out but definitely look into what first responders or military might use. Specifically police or EMS issue/approved ones.
