Hi Roger ..and Pete ... its great to watch you carving these figures... I have carved a few simple hillbilly figures but now I am trying to do faces ... I am a long way off your level but I am slowly getting better ... does Pete carve as well ? ...great videos ... take care...All the best.....Andy
I do some carving, and I have trouble with the sanding of the figure. Would you show how it is done. I have never got one of my figures to be as smooth and blemish free as yours.
looking forward to next parts.

I don't sand I burnish my carving with a small polished dear antler.
@@rogerstegallwoodcarvings8181 would you demonstrate it please?
@@rogerstegallwoodcarvings8181 before burnising, the wood has to be pretty smooth to begin with, without sanding, how is that done?
My tools are extremely sharp that's how I get clean cuts.
Thank you, I am beginning to think talent is the missing component in my case.
Hi, the dimensions say a 4" x 2" block which I assume to be the height and thickness...what is the width please....amazing carving by the way!!!
About 3&1\2inches
What is the grain direction please
The grain is going up and down with the face top of head to the chin.
Hi Peyton 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
What kind of clay is that Uncle Roger?
It's sculpty clay
