Yes and no. Last week the Revenue Dept made a horribly confusing announcement that crypto "profits" would now be subject to capital gains. (Stack market profits are not). Not clear if "profits" means on sales or any appreciation of assets. And bad enough that it applies in 2022, a year that people have already started investing, but it seems to go back to 2021. And not clear if foreigners without work permits will have to start filing tax returns on any gains. The Rev. Dept has promised a clarifying statement "soon." Meanwhile, many expats living in Thailand are selling everything to avoid problems.
I wonder who of all those people really gets the philosophy of btc and the dystopian possibilities of CBDCs...
