I feel sorry for the artists accross the border. I mean here in India(the part I am from) if you are learning Kathak/Bharatnatyam etc. This makes a girl much more respected. Like they are keeping the culture alive.
@@lovereachable But Pakistanis don't consider themselves as part of the Indian sub continent. Earlier they used to identify as Arabs, now they have become Turks😂😂😂
@Arunitaaa31 It has a Hindu origin. Culturally however, its scope is wider than Hindu culture. Kathak went to Mughal courts. That's how we also have non-devotional numbers such as taranas and compositions with salaami. Traditional taranas are a big part of Kathak as we know Kathak today. I think taranas were not performed in temples in pre-mughal India. With Mughals came khayaal singing and with khayaal came things such as taranas into Kathak. Best of whatever I understand. Also, not all thumris are devotional or about Krishna. They have shringaar ras and/but aren't about deities.
@@lovereachable 😂😂😂 You guys have some inferiority complex or what. It was literally created to worship Lord Krishna. It's a Hindu Dance form and not a "subcontinent" dance form. Stop stealing, create something of your own
Reminded me of a must attendance to the annual music conferences at the openair theater at the Bagh e Jinnah Lahore. Thats where i witnessed Gopi Krishan dance and Begum Akhtar sing. Min. 9:38 "...But when I used to dance, I would just dance for...I don't know, some higher power ". "Art evokes the mystery whithout which the world would not exist". "Art is a lever on human nature that enhances sociability. If humans are social beings it is in part, beacuse art is conducive to this". "Art expresses the beauty and the harmony of the Universe and we are part of it." And so on... Thank you!
it's sad how our own leaders have made a mockery of our ideology. Dance is a religion in itself - it teaches love and oneness through story telling, just like Islam.
Stop this hindu muslim hate bro , be happy that people from other religions are also loving this dance form and accepting that as theirs whic is great enough, and accepting this fact won't make u or your religion any less , this just tells u r insecure -coming from a Hindu !!
