    It would be great if you guys provided a way to import PPT animations and stuff with the 'Import Media' option.

      Unfortunately they're not a compatible file-type to import. You could record your powerpoint transition or animaiton if there's one you really want to have, otherwise we have lots of transitions and animations if you wanted to recreate any. But we feel this pain point, unfortunately it's just something we're unable to do at this time.

    Hello, thanks for the video. But which way is the best in terms of quality? Method 1 or 3? I mean to ensure smooth animations and clarity with no blurriness. Just would love to hear your recommendation please.

      Honestly that's a question of personal preference as 1 & 3 are both using a screen recorder and are getting all of the presentation elements in the recording. Also, the Powerpoint add-in is only available for Windows, so Mac users would definitely use method #3 since #1 isn't available. If you're asking personal preference (hi, this is Andy from TechSmith) I like method #3, but it's not better, it's just the way I prefer to record. Everything inside of one program, and then I can do any editing, touch-ups or finalizing of my video inside Camtasia. But if you are just recording your Powerpoint and NOT touching it up or editing it at all, method #1 is quick and easy and can do that as well.
      Sorry there isn't a "this is the right answer" solution, but they're all really good options, and thankfully you can choose which one you prefer, rather than be boxed in.

      @@techsmith Thanks for the explanations. I wish there was an add in for MAC, I've tried method 3 and it's still produces a video of low quality. Even when I max out the export resolution I can see blurs around each letter of the presentation as it is doing a screen recording. Any recommendation for settings to crank up the quality? Thanks a lot.

      Nevermind! I watched this: th-cam.com/video/bFuaQQ-pr8I/w-d-xo.html and managed to get something crisp and clear on MAC and all .ppt animations I had.

      @@MatthieuDelcourt Do you know what resolution your screen is at for your Mac? Most Macs wants sharp pixels but that makes for small detail. If you go into your Display Settings under System Preferences and selected "Scaled" try it all the way over on "Larger Text" (Macs don't get specific about resolution size). Then when you present, the info should be much clearer. Let us know if that still doesn't cut it!

      The add-in is not available for Mac, no. But even without the add-in you can still record a Powerpoint on Mac in Presentation mode, by starting a new recording with Camtasia.

    I just want to make sure that I understand what is being said @1:03. Is this saying that with the 1st option, I would not be able to stop and pause my recording?
    I have over 400 PowerPoint slides. Do I have to record all of them at once?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With this method, you would record your Powerpoint Presentation the way you would present it. So if there are pauses and transitions on them, then you can include those. I do not believe you have to record every slide to complete the recording. If that is something you would like assurance on however, you can ask over at bit.ly/ts-gethelp to be sure.
