Best video about this saw I’ve seen yet, I’m thinking about buying this as I’m on 18v but already bought a few 40v tools, you answered a lot of my questions/queries , thank you from Scotland 😊👍🏻
@@justinandjessdiy it’s the 2nd dust pipe on the right side , that’s the problem, it’s not big enough in diameter, which causes clogging, with softwoods. It’s a small gripe , which has improved since I’ve connected it to my Festool vac , instead of using my Dewalt cordless vac ,which lacks suction.
Have you compared this to the Festool 8-1/2"? Im looking for a smaller saw to lug around the jobsite, dust collection is important but not the only thing I am trying to cover. I have a lot of makita stuff, and in general like them. Id imagine that there are more blade options in the makita. Hows accuracy?
Hi Justin, I have that saw and I promise you will NOT be disappointed. Now, just a heads up, next blade change, simply pull the saw forward and the guide rails will not be in the way. Enjoy, as I have been a Makita Miter Saw owner for 42 years.
Why are you cutting everything in two passes? Not necessary, increases likelihood of error if the stock moves, and is almost certainly not the technique recommended in that owner's manual you dismissed.
Haha fair enough. Who knows what the manual says..still haven't read it 😎 In all seriousness, just out of habit.. I cut a lot more plywood than pine and taking more than 1 pass helps prevent tear out on the veneer, or if I'm cutting hardwood, doesn't bog down the motor or wear the battery. Soft pine like what I'm cutting in the video probably doesn't need 2 passes.

Does it cut 70mm depth for top/bottom plates?
It’s the best saw I’ve ever owned..
cuts as smooth as butter .. dust extraction is minor gripe especially on softwood..
It’s a great saw for sure. I have found the dust extraction to be a slight gripe as well

Oh perfect thank you!
Did your miter saw come with the receiver for the auto start wireless technology?
Mine did...
they come seperate, if you remove the cover that comes on the saw its an empty slot
Justin, at that price what kept you from just going ahead and getting the Kapex? I'm team Makita but I'm still curious
don't tempt me i might return this 😂
@@justinandjessdiyreturn? No, brother, the 40v goes in your jeep and the festool will stay in your shop right next to your bandsaw and cnc!
Do you wish you wish you went for kapex
