It signifies a person who wants to further their career, and only cares about themselves. Holding a leadership role implies the desire o change. A person really doesn't go out of their way to be a leader unless they A) want power (as we previously discussed) or b) has something they really don't like about the current establishment, and have things they want to change, and believe they are the only ones who can do it.

First time in my life I've seen a politician that I feel like "gets it", the real issues. People laughed at the idea of universal basic income and yet it would have been such a crucial saving point for most Americans last year. I'd really like to see if this man can bring about meaningful change.

As a Brit, I think that our politicians tend to be a bit more average and mostly care about us to an extent, whereas the US is filled with politicians who don't care and politicians who will give their life for the country. In the US, I'd probably vote for either Bernie or Andrew but as a 16 year old, I still don't know who I'd vote for as PM in the UK. Tbh, I think that despite what the media's been saying, Boris Johnson has actually been quite a good PM. Mostly because I'm an environmentalist and I know he has been pushing for cycling infrastructure, which is amazing as I travel everywhere by bike. But still, he's not as good as Andrew or Yang.
British politics doesn't doesn't really allow any new people to enter politics easily. To be prime minister you basically have to be the leader of a major party and an MP because of law and convention. This means that underdogs have to gradually gain respect and experience until they are no longer underdogs. Long shots just can't be elected. Some people I do respect aren't elected, like the controversial Dominic Cummings. The problem with that is you can't vote for Cummings (obviously), nor does your support help him out much.
Correction: On county and mayoral levels you can be elected as an underdog but the more powerful counties and cities usually elect members of major parties.

I live in NYC and I’m more of a conservative. What makes Andrew Yang such a good candidate is he actually cares about NYC. That’s something DeBlasio can not honestly say. I’m not saying I agree with 100% of his policies but I think around 95% what he said would tremendously help this city out. He cares about the the environment and is trying to prevent climate change. Wants to hire more teachers which is needed. Wants to improve the cities fiber internet speed which I mean everyone would want that. And overall he just wants to actually help the city and make a positive change that would be good for everyone.
This time remember, the internet is not real. The ground game is real. Yang was the biggest name on TH-cam and Twitter but got 1% of the vote. Forget the internet while campaigning.

I live in NYC and I’m more of a conservative. What makes Andrew Yang such a good candidate is he actually cares about NYC. That’s something DeBlasio can not honestly say. I’m not saying I agree with 100% of his policies but I think around 95% what he said would tremendously help this city out. He cares about the the environment and is trying to prevent climate change. Wants to hire more teachers which is needed. Wants to improve the cities fiber internet speed which I mean everyone would want that. And overall he just wants to actually help the city and make a positive change that would be good for everyone.

It's a tiny tiny fraction of the people that watch CNN, MSNBC and local news. The campaign has to focus way more on the cable and local news.
