- In this video, we're sharing our favorite little towns in North Carolina - Blowing Rock and Boone!
Blowing Rock and Boone are the perfect places to relax and take in the natural beauty of North Carolina. These charming towns are perfect for a day trip, or you can stay and explore them for a longer period of time.
We used to go to Boone a lot back before our RVing days and we stayed there at least three times at this one particular hotel, which we revisit we love both of these towns, but doing some reflecting on this last trip I think we'll still love Boone more it's a little bigger of an older downtown with more shops and places to eat.
So if you've never visited either one of these towns in your close, do yourself a favor, and make sure to swing by and visit either one as they are both great little towns.

We love NC too. I used to live in Waynesville (near Maggie Valley). We love to mine for rubies and sapphires in the Franklin/Cherokee area, but also mine at Hiddenite and in the Little Switzerland area where we've found some nice emeralds. Our son lives near Charlotte, so we visit there often. We stayed at a nice campground near Shelby, NC for about 5 months last summer. There's a new Casino called the Two Kings off I-85 near Kings Mountain. It was very good to us during our stay. My wife would visit about every week or two. We won enough that we never had to pay for our $500/mo. lot rental - the casino did. The casino also bought us a new $1,400 Furrion AC unit when our old Dometic bit the dust after only 23 years. 😁 We've never enjoyed anywhere near that kind of consistent luck before. To say the slots were loose would be an understatement, as we saw plenty of others winning big there too. We had a fun time at the highland games on Grandfather Mountain one year, not far from Boone. Another fun place nearby that's worth a visit is Linville Falls and Linville Caverns, not far off the Blueridge Parkway. Enjoy.
We stayed in Maggie Valley one year. It was awesome but it was super cold when we were there too and we have actually have hiked Linville Falls years ago and it was amazing. We love the Boone area and we’ve done Grandfather Mountain a couple times prior to RVing.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! Looking forward to the next one. Stayed at New River State Park, not too far away from Boone, so we visited and ate at the Carolina Pizza Company and walked around a bit. Nice little town!
New river state park sounds like one we would like to try then. Are they open year around?

Oh man! Boone had a Mast General Store?!?! There’s one in Greenville SC that we love to go there to when we visit our friend. Please tell me you went in. We Love the Carolinas and Georgia. Continued Prayers for Alli and her mom.
No we were so limited on time with the park curfew lol. We need more time there next time. We did go into a cool one in chimney rock.

No it's been years since we've been. We went there and Cades Cove but it was before our Rving days. We need to go back and camp now. Any good suggestions?
