Evynne - this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Other than the original, most singers deliver a flat "stylized" version that is just not the song it was meant to be. You did the song true justice and delivered it beautifully. Just like you! A true joy to listen to and behold. I hope and pray your family stays safe in these troubled times.

I love this cover so much but I love your voice in general. This was always one of my favorite Disney songs along with Reflection from Mulan and Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. Great cover of this wonderful song. Pocahontas is one of my favorite Disney movies (back when Disney was actually great) and this song is so crucial to the film.
What makes Disney not so great now?

@@ellenmariedrummondscurtis Pretty much yes in regard to their animated works some rare exceptions exist (like the original animated Mulan & its Sequel for example) but otherwise yes. Then in the early-mid 2000s some good none animated films & shows where made. But last 10 years everything they created is crap. They ruined the Harry Potter movies(the books are still great though), Star Wars, Fox, NatGeo, and Marvel.
Look at the animated "Hercules" film from the 90s that is all hand drawn, yes they then animated it together using computers but they scanned in the hand drawn stuff to do so without changing it.
Anyway the "Golden Era" of Disney for me is basically 1960-2000(with rare exceptions in regard to some animated & none-animated content until around 2011).

I have witnessed profound and rich healing and growth and connection that have been enhanced and expressed as a result of "fairy-tale-ending" films and the passion behind them. Did you know that *Encanto* was formed and produced during the heat of the Pandemic from everyone's homes? And the film is _about_ the cultivation of spiritual gifts and the life of our sacred spaces (with the house, the "Casita," actually BEING ALIVE and the essence of Mirabel's soul (she doesn't believe she has a gift at first but soon realizes her desire for family harmony and joy is the reason she is able to save the Madrigals and their neighbors and heal any wounds in the family (which brought Bruno back, the one who sees the future).) These creations are our mirrors. When Moana restored the Heart of Te Fiti, it became clear to me from the beginning that the reason that our Heroine and the Green Goddess look so much the same is that Moana IS Te Fiti in a human form... born to heal the rift between the gods (through Maui the demigod) and humans, specifically witnessing the Ocean (also thoroughly filled with Anima like the Home in *Encanto*) remind Moana's People that they don't have to be afraid of anything, especially not the Spirit of Water. Then FROZEN. Elsa is the Fifth Element, as we see in the sequel. This is all about the Divine Feminine and Her Resurrection and Resurgence. This is all about the Consciousness of Humanity, Homo Luminous.
To limit the best Disney movies based on timeframe and culture and aesthetics is unnecessary. As we evolve as viewers of these majesties, so too do our portrayal of Hope and Virtue and Wisdom and Peace and Joy on this Earth.

Your voice fits this song so well. Your comment at the end about the meaning in the lyrics is so fitting in these days.
