Not sure why Scalextric put chrome rims on it, they made proper rims, as seen on the C3535 Blue Charger, I’m going to swap rims from a C3535 onto my Scalextric General Lee. Nice comparison video showing the two cars, after first watching it I went out and bought mine.
I also don't like the Scalextric wheels on the General Lee because they're too wide, so I put the Pioneer wheels on and the front tyres from Scalextric Corvette or Mustang because they're nearly exact for scale size.
Even the Pioneer tyres are too wide for scale.
I wish Pioneer had made the car the correct width, it's five millimetres too narrow which doesn't sound much but is very noticeable
What are you going to do with the rest of the Blue Charger.
I have a Scalextric General Lee that was purchased without a rear bumper but they're too expensive to buy just to rip the rear bumper off of
@@MartintheTinman I’m putting the chrome rims on it from the General and keeping it, that model is hard to come by too.
@@71Dragtruck . You should put in the effort to get some Pioneer wheels and tyres and put them on.
That way you're not changing the Blue Charger.
You can buy the wheels and tyres from places such as Pendle Slot.
I think Pioneer are no longer selling spares direct but they could still be
@@MartintheTinman For the Pioneer General pick up a set of Paul Gage PGT-21093XD tires and for the Scalextric his PGT-22105SE tires. Not only do they look good they grip good too, night and day difference. The Pioneer ones are a bit narrower and have the right sidewall look, and the Scalextric ones are way narrower and have old bias ply look.
Hi great video thanks for sharing your work where can I get the pioneer cheers
@@darrencooper4251 . You'd have to fit a Carrera digital chip.
The Pioneer cars have a panel to fit a Scalextric digital chip.
There are tutorials in TH-cam about how to fit Carrera digital chips
@@MartintheTinman ok thanks Martin how much for the car can you send photos of it mate cheers 👍
I have the new one but need the older one I didn’t know about. I have the original general Lee slot car from 81 mint in package. Now I’ll be looking for the older 1/32 general Lee 😂
@@oldscoolcooldiecast1879 which car are you after?
I might be able to help
You must have never watched The Dukes of Hazzard cause in the opening song when the General Lee jumps you can clearly see headrests raised in the car
In the intro the General Lee that Luke leaps over the bonnet of also has a chrome roll bar
It's the only car to have that.
Should I paint all the roll bars chrome?
Also if you bother to pay attention you'll see that the roll bar changes from a two spot , to four spot and to six spot frequently throughout a show and even a scene.
For one fleeting glimpse you see the rear quarter windows up but as far as I recall that's the only time.
Never see white writing on the tyres but you've already complained about that.
You could actually make your own videos if mine offend you so much
@@MartintheTinman Well you said you never see headrests during the show so someone must have told you that
@@MartintheTinman yeah you did say before that the rear windows were never up but indeed they were
Do you know where I can get either of these cars ?
