I think the taste would be like kinnathapam ,a kerala dessert which we often do in our kanyakumari muslim areas
Except butter and vanilla essence instead we use elachi all the other items are there in kinnathapam

Glutinous means it has more gluten than what our regular rice has which is what give it's the chewy texture .Chinese use glutinous rice to make sweets. Gluten is not bad for u until ur allergic to it. Everything taken in the right amount won't harm you
