Mullet makes great mulloway bait mate. You can catch mulloway in the onk at night. Not that i have done it. Well done. Used to kayak fish there all the time
@JacobMarsdenFishing pretty sure it's November onwards mate. Warmer weather. There are some old youtube videos where they are caught. There at night. They go into feed and then get caught at low tide in the deep holes.
First thing that came to mind when I saw you catch mullet was Mulloway bait. Coming into the warmer weather it's perfect. Just to add to the original comment- Use the mullet as a live bait when going for mulloway.
Mate I've started watching you recently and love the content! i tried the spot at port river monday and today after work that you used a rock and caught 30cm salmon trout on bait / hook then today bream on soft plastic grub! love the content mate and hopefully see ya out and about soon. cheers riley
I grew up fishing the onkaparinga river from age 10 until now. Bait I used was blood worms, cockles, prawns & squid. For a laugh some hot chips from the fish & chip shop
@JacobMarsdenFishing blood worms have always been my ideal bait. There a few spots along the river. Where you in video is good as it also close to Pringle farm, spot underneath the train bridge on river road & down by the tennis courts off river road too. Also try behind market square in old noarlunga, there also deep hole in onkaparinga river behind the old noarlunga pub, look for rope swing. I've grew up along the coast from O'Sullivan's beach to Rapid Bay. I also fished down around Goolwa & victor harbour. Now fishing at Port Macdonnell & Carpenter Rock's
Hey,mullet Go brown colour if that stay in fresh water areas for awhile,it's just a mullet dood, .People pay alot more money for coorong mullet but it's just a mullet that's been in fresh water for abit.
Why can we not take the fish from the old capringa River because it's attached to the the ocean and Freshwater? That fish yellowed eye mullet they love bread two you can catch them.
I think it's unfair that we can't take the fish home with us if we want to eat them if they're the legal size. I think South Australia should put bring out a fishing licence. Just like every other state and with the money that they do restock proper dams with a whole parlour new fish so people can take the fish home if they've got the licence. Because South Australia they're fishing Industries really crappy for people that not commercial fisheries it's really sad.
@@SaMaNtHa.2023 yeah I agree, I think it’s just bream are on a temporary ban in there the rest you can take I just didn’t have any use for the mullet so thrower them back 👍🏽
Yes I'm totally agree with the band it means that they want it to be populated more with Brim it was also they do it with salmon trout I think they do it as well they do a fish ban to populate the river system they do that in that river now I know silly me I forgot about that one. @@JacobMarsdenFishing
Love onk, caught a 48cm bream just up from where you are.
Hey man using a wrap instead of bread is genius I’m gonna try that one! Big mullet closer to the mouth

Try the foot bridge near the mouth of the Onkaparinga river or even try Port norlunga jetty
@@Deezesfishin what species are caught by the foot bridge? Cheers thanks
Hey mate where you where you can take the bream it’s only upstream and you won’t find any perch down there that’s very far upriver in the fresh stuff

From what understand you can fish for Bream except from 30th September until the 30th November from the upside of South Road, breading time.

@@JacobMarsdenFishingmullet is actually a good fish to eat or you can use it for bait to catch a mulloway.
It's not unfair. The rules are based on science and are there to ensure longevity of the fish population.
Yeah was definitely a mullet or as I call them “Jewfish live bait “
Thanks mate!
