Is Shimano Ocea Conquest 200HG the Best Saltwater Fishing Reel?

In July 2020, I participated in a fishing tournament consisting of 22 fishermen sponsored by Napoli Fishing (나폴리호) in Ocheon Harbor (오천항), Boryeong (보령), Korea. We left the harbour at 0500 and fished until 1600hrs. WIth an hour left in our fishing time, I was fortunate enough to hook a 85cm (33.6 inch) giant flounder at the last second to finish 1st place, winning a brand new Shimano Ocea Conquest 200HG Deep Sea fishing Baitcast reel.

It’s a good rig to fish anything up to 20lbs... it has a drag clicker sound, so that maybe is a good or a bad thing depending on your preference.

Hi, Oceas are built for jigging indeed, but how do they perform in casting anyway please? What about 200 size and 20g + lures....?

This reel comes with centrifugal brakes so it’s definitely made for casting if you know how with some practice and adjustment.
