No, we are not slaves. Accepting that mentality makes you a slave. If you refuse to accept that mentality and run people who will represent the people. This way you can control the police and what they do through the council and the selection of a Police Chief who will hold his officers accountable and fire those who violate laws. You have the power, it is up to people to utilize that power and to come together to hold those elected to a standard. And when they are acting in a manner which is illegal, they should be arrested, tried and sentenced to maximum time in jail. In most cities you can elect the municipal judges. Elect judges who will commit to the public will, otherwise run someone who will. Do NOT ever think you are a slave. That is defeatist. There are many US Veterans who took an oath to protect the constitution, and that oath did not expire with the end of our active service. And if decided by a majority of veterans, we could bring force to the will of the people.
