Sheep Farming Vlog: Feeding Sheep

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 7 ก.พ. 2025
- Today at Ewetopia Farms, we go through morning chores and show you how we are feeding our sheep at this time of year as pastures become depleted, sheep start going into breeding groups, and we are trying to flush our sheep prior to breeding. We also give shout-outs to two of our personal favourite TH-cam channels that we watch on a daily basis.
Sheep and sheep farming is our passion and we hope that the love we have for what we do is obvious to you the viewers. Our operation is a large scale, registered Suffolk and Poll Dorset sheep farm combining the best of pasture and confinement to manage the flock for maximum comfort, minimal stress, and producing a consistent, very high quality product. Our focus is on providing breeding stock for sale to other sheep producers. All our sheep are treated with the utmost compassion which I think will become evident as you join us on our daily rounds on our working sheep farm in eastern Ontario, Canada.
I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like to follow along with us and experience life on a real live sheep farm on a daily basis, please subscribe so that you don't miss a single episode!
Thank you for taking the time to watch! We love to hear from you so be sure to leave a comment as well.
Thank you!

I tell you, Lynn, it’s soothing to just be a “birdseye” while you do your chores. Feel free to let us (camera) sit! Watching sheep eat ❤
I'm glad!😁

Thanks a million for the mention Lynn! ❤
Hello ewetube.ireland, I think I'll pop over and take a stroll on your farm.🌴
You're welcome, Karol! We love your channel and who can't get enough of the scenery on your farm, the beautiful sheep, and all the hard work you do. We youtubers need to support each other!😁
Thanks very much for the shout out. Such a different system.
Yes, two totally different systems but with the same love of the sheep and the environment. We watch you every lunch hour!
Goodmorning Lynn and Arnie. I love it when you put the camera on Glad, he has this gentle but intentative look on his face every time!🥰🥰😍
He is a serious, calm, friendly ram 😍
Salam ngarit salam sukses Tamra Chase
I will have to check those channels out. But Lynn, don't count yourself out that you are unknown to them!! You have several thousand more subscribers than both channels! As a matter of fact Ewetopia Farms has almost as many subscribers as those two channels combined!!! I have learned so much from watching you and Arnie on your farm!! You never know those guys might be big Ewetopia fans!!😉
I just love watching you interact with Gladiator!!! When you are petting and scratching him, he looks at you so lovingly. He really is one of a kind and finding another Glad would probably be next to impossible. That said, maybe he will give you a beautiful, well mannered, Gentle Giant Jr. with all those wonderful traits.
Thanks for sharing your day with us and stay safe!!❤
Thanks Cindy. We are definitely looking for a Gladiator son to keep as our own in an RR version 🤞
Oh cupcake is a doll and the boys are looking good ,great job Lynn and Arnie.Have a great weekend.

i was already subscribed to both channels you recommended. i fell in love with farming on youtube. i began watching all sorts of farming and sheep farming and dairy farming quickly became my faves. after a few years of this i must say that i truly missed out. i think i would’ve loved to be a farmer! of all the farms, ewetopia is my top choice hands down! i love you guys! thanks again for your videos! i watch them daily, look forward to seeing lynn and arnie and their wonderful animals. god bless you and your farm.
Thank you so much for your support! It is great that people are watching all these sheep/farming videos as hopefully it will raise awareness as to where your food comes from and the work it takes to produce it 🙂

Good morning! 🌹🌹🌹
Have a great day Lynn and Arnie 😊
Thanks! You too 🙂
Glad, Is so handsome 😍💚🤍🖤 Haha, The other ram jumping on the other while Arnie was walking him... One of my favorite farm TH-cam channel's is, Counter Culture Farms, He always talk about Biodiversity and the Land!!!
I will look for them too
Lynn, I love your conversation and information but I also really loved the livestream feel of just watching the sheep and shepherd do their thing. Soooo relaxing. I could watch a livestream for hours.
My studio help tease me for watching all these “work” videos but I love hearing things get accomplished while I’m also working in my studio. Makes me feel like I have company.
Take care.
I'm glad to hear you liked that part. I thought some people might wonder what I was doing, but my goal was to stay quiet and to let viewers see and hear what it is really like in the barn without me explaining everything. 🙂
The main other sheep channels I watch are Ewetube and The Sheep Game.
Gladiator is super special you would never believe he is now 5 years old, and hopefully he’ll be around to produce many more beautiful lambs. What a great asset he is. Hope you will be able to have a few enjoyable days away soon. I also love the Kiwi farmer he reminds me of my son who farms in the Scottish Borders very much rough hill ground he has 800 breeding ewes and a 100 suckler cows which he does all by himself. It’s a tough life but he loves it.
I am so amazed by all these young farmers working so hard. It is very admirable, especially these days when most people seem like they can't be bothered working. Does your son have a channel yet,!🙂
@@EwetopiaFarms No channel he doesn’t have the patience for that
@@ellencarver5575 it's a lot of work!🙂
Just wishing to start mine in a couple months to come❤❤ I love sheeps
All your salt & pepper face dorsets seem extra friendly! You have the best of both worlds for the sheep, luv & protection but also outdoor time even in winter with their romps in walkway that they clearly enjoy! Ewetube is fun character to watch but couldn't imagine running all around God's creation keeping track of everyone!
I don't know how they keep track of them all. I have to admire those guys. I couldn't do it!🙂
Good evening Arnie and Lynn. It is late at night when I caught you had posted a video. So glad. Then Gladiator stood for pi’s picture. So handsome. Look at that small bale being nibbled by the smart sheep at the start. So cute. I hope you do take a ride. You guys deserve it. I have watched ewetube and I really like him. I will check out the Kiwi farmer. This has been a fun video. I love watching the sheep eat. That crunch is awesome. Blessings and super big hugs. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes, it was a video that took forever to upload so was quite late posting. You will like The Kiwi Farmer. Take care 🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@EwetopiaFarms You guys will always be my favorites. Your sheep have stolen my heart. Big hugs. 🥰🥰🥰
@@patriciaruppert201 thank you 😊
Looking forward to seeing what Glad and Tammy’s babies turn out to be! Hoping for a ram and ewe 🤍🤍🤍
Everyone is calling her Tammy but Tammy is not in a breeding group. The one with Gladiator is Cammy 😊🥰
@@EwetopiaFarms I knew Cammy was but I thought I heard you say Tammy was in that breeding group also 🤦♀️. My bad!!!!!
@tammykaltreider No, people are calling her Tammy and I haven't bothered correcting it but Tammy is still waiting for the right guy 😉😆
Salam ngarit salam sukses Tammy Lee
I also like the Irish Shepard he's funny I'll look up Kiwi
I binge watch you two most of the time I love the winter / Christmas lambing just was watching those episodes last night again
Not sure if I've seen him or not, I will check him out 🙂 Thanks for binge watching us!
Good Morning Lynn & Arnie. Thank you for another great video!! Love the lambs when they were waiting for their meal, even though they all got grain to eat, they sure were talkative about getting the hay.
Gladiator & Knockout seem to be enjoying themselves with all their ladies. Sheriff seems to be keeping his ladies in tack. But the 3 Rams seem to be content and love to be loved on. Who is the next group of ladies going to be with?
Seems the group wanted to escape to enjoy the outdoor scenery. ❤🐑❤️🐏.
We have a group going with Hamish, Kasanova, Quince and probably Monster
Is Monster the Ram with the baby lamb voice?
That’s going to be a lot of lambs coming at lambing season. I know Sheriff and Hammish are Dorset Rams, AND Monster, Knockout, Gladiator are Suffock Rams, but what breed are the other Rams.
@ckstephens52 yes, Monster has the baby voice, Kasanova is our young Dorset ram and Quince is a Suffolk we used last year too
Hello Lynn and Arnie,
I was hoping at some point you could do a recording of Monte’s baby voice… like, a lot of the baby voice throughout the day.❤❤. And more beautiful Lambert!
😄 Money (short for Monster) is with the big guys right now. He does have the cutest voice. 😍 I try to get some of everyone when I see them 🙂
Salam ngarit salam sukses
the sheep game is good too
Yes, I follow all of them too 🙂
Good morning. Katie is such a pretty girl. Love that she has more white on her than the boys. It’s funny how some dogs bond more with men or women. I’d love more pasture for our flock too. But predators and parasites keep us keeping most of our flock indoors. I have a small flock so herd mortality? I can’t afford to lose any because they are too hard to replace with the same quality I already have. But I binge watch you tube too and dream of rolling hills where the sheep have tons of space to roam.
Yes, that is how it is for us too. We want them to be free too but in our country, it truly isn't practical for so many reasons
I love your set up instead of open range sheep. I think you can. I wouldn't sleep thinking about some being out and needing help with lambing .i think you guys are doing a great job
Yes, there are plusses and minuses to every system. It is finding what works best for you. 🙂
Great video Lynn, I love how a lot of rams are very friendly. They sure are excited about breeding season. Are all the rams going on a date or will some of them not get a chance this season?? ❣🌴
We will probably have 10 rams breeding this season. The rest take it easy and will go the following year.

Hello Arnie and Lynn, Thanks for showing the morning routine. Gladiator and Hamish are very handsome boys. Katie and Max are very helpful. Where was Ben? How often do the dogs get check ups? I have cats, but I do like to pet dogs. Bye for now dear friends
Ben was in another paddock watching the sheep 😆. The dogs had all their shots and care as puppies and that's it.
Could Arnie put the bale in and roll it all the way to the end without taking the strings off, Then roll it back to the front of the feeder. Then take the core out. Eliminating having to drive the skidsteer through the sheep? Just a thought. Might be harder to do that than how he's doing it now. LOL
Yes that would be a lot harder because the bale weighs around 700 pounds 😆
@@EwetopiaFarms I wasn't sure how much your bales weighed. Ours are 1000 to1200 lbs, and it's hard to even budge them.
Is Glad a homebred ram ?
If you can't seem to find one like him to buy you might consider line breeding. Pick out a few of his very best granddaughters and see how that works.. Sometimes, you have to do a little line breeding to set the "type": long loin, great head and ears etc. Hopefully, you can get an even better buck then his sire (Gladiator).
Knockout is a very nice ram ! Great to see you put him in with long loin & eared girls. Besides, out cross bloodlines and the friendly gene, what else do you hope he will add to your flock ?
I was trying to figure out a workaround and you figured one out. Kudos.
Love your braids. Was about to pass out and noticed your video dropped. Yay. Agendas can be flexible maybe except when it comes to crops? 😊
I was having internet issues!🙂
Good morning mom
Good morning!
Sheep shepard and Our farm life are awesome also.
Frome Ireland to Australia to tour Channel in Canada is awesome to me. I had one USA channel, but they are bi longer. Drats
It is fun to be able to watch people from all over the world. TH-cam has changed how we watch TV :)
I’ll check out the 2 channels you mentioned..
I think you will like them 🙂
You usually have a lot more lambs gone by now. Are you going to have to take some to market.
Yes, this year, ewe lamb sales were down. We are keeping them and will still be selling them as breeding stock but they will obviously be older which hopefully be more desirable
Did you buy Gladiator or is he from your breeding?
He is our own breeding 🙂
❤❤❤❤
Lynn how's buddy? Has he been lounging the days away in the house?
You will see him in tomorrow's video. Now that it's a bit cooler, he spends most of his time outside again 🙂
@@EwetopiaFarmsCool, now i swear he was a human in a past life, he knows what he is doing! ha ha
Curious....... will you be keeping Thelma & Louise's mum?
Yes
Oh my, the hay bale is almost too wide and strong Arnie is tuffly pushing bale down the feeder. Wow, I remember how heavy square bales are to lift.
Too much for me, sorry Arnie I can’t help. B
They are very heavy. Lucky he is a big guy! :)
we wont to see some chicken in your farm that would be beautiful 🙂
I like chickens but we don't have enough time to be looking after more animals until we downsize
Chickens would be fun! I love them so much but they aren’t for everyone. Lord, they poop everywhere! 😂
@claymonsterpottery I've has them before and love them but right now we are way too busy to add more work onto our daily schedule
sandi brock is great too, shes from ontario canada too
Oh cupcake is a doll and the boys are looking good ,great job Lynn and Arnie.Have a great weekend.
She is so bright-eyed and friendly 😍
