I was a 12 year old boy and have just starting the biggest love for the game. Dražen's death was an awful shock the next year and our national team started to decline, but half of the country continued to root for Kukoč, MJ and the Bulls till late '90s and every existing court in Croatia was full of kids playing basketball ❤️
Being from Utah I hated (loved) the Bulls! Back then I didn't know much about Tony but how could you not love him. I liked reading your comment, seeing the game and these players from your perspective.

It has always been beyond me where the popularity of this game comes from. Some tall chaps bounce a ball down a gym, jump up and put it in a basket. Then the other team has the ball and bounce sit to the other end of the gym and puts it into the basket at that end. And repeat. And because it goes on for so long, the scores get really high. So boring. I realise this won’t be a majority opinion.
