Huh, thinking back on this I could swear there were levels where the lava was rising and you had to be fast to get items that were far down so that they aren't swallowed by the lava yet. There was also a level layout with 2 or more long vertical shafts that I was thinking of that didn't seem to show up, even though I thought I remembered it somewhat vividly. This seems so similar but maybe it was still not quite the game I played back when I was a child.
