All of this was very good advice. I listened to this and was able to wind up my 5 yr old DV case which was proceeding without much movement and just dragging on. Using these techniques, openly listening, keeping an open line of communication and bringing both parties to the same view point, I was able to end my DV case and also completed a divorce with mutual consent.
It is always good to listen what the opposing party wants and willingness to listen without ego. It saves your precious life and gets you to closure faster than any other remedy a court will be able to provide. Of course, you have to ensure that the opposing party also comes with clean intentions and you are not being fleeced by your own as well as the OP's lawyers.

सर अगर पत्नी को पैसा ही देना होता तो फिर न्यायालय में क्यों आते हैं और जिंदगी अगर पति की खराब होती है तो पत्नी की भी होती है और इतना मोटा पैसा देने से अच्छा है कि तीन चार हजार मेंटेनेंस देना चाहिए
