The most inaccurate thing in this movie is that people not wanting Alue. People would fight tooth and nail for a gray wolf husky mix. Especially if she was a daughter of a hero doggo

The animation may be cheaper (way cheaper), but watching Balto being surrounded by his puppies after the loneliness he endured most part of his life (beside from Boris) warms my heart ♥.

I never thought of that before! It also explains Jenna's casual take on it because it's so ingrained in both humans AND domestic dogs. Add in the fact that Balto has lived apart from humans his entire life and Boris continued to hang around him even after he was fully grown and capable of caring for himself. It's the same thing in a wolf pack, which consists of the alpha pair, their adult children, and their pups. It's even the same with lionesses; a single pride can have multiple generations of a family of lionesses, the only thing changing being the dominant male.
Not only does Aleu *not* look more like a wolf than Balto, she looks more like a husky than Jenna.
And she still has blue eyes when she's a teen/adult. Only huskies keep that eye colour : wolf eyes are blue during "childhood", but turn yellow as they grow up.
She also has 'socks' like huskies and she does not have under eye layering like the wolves do.
Funny tho Jenna doesn't have blue eyes
It's weird that they'd say Aleu looks more wolf than Balto bcuz technically speaking she's only 1/4 wolf (as well as her siblings), but seeing as Balto's main physicality is that of a wolf it's not impossible 4 her 2 resemble him either

I grew up with this film as a kid and loved it. Some people say Balto didn't need a sequel, I say, just because it wasn't needed doesn't mean it's bad.

This is soooo true and a valid point most of us have to leave the nest and move out at some point and live our own lives and have s family of our own but knowing that we’ll always be our parents little girl or boy ❤
I don't get how people say this sequel is bad. It's great. As a child I liked it just as much as the first one.

It’s always that way with direct-to-video sequels. Some are no doubt bad and boring, but others like this one are actually good.
probaley has to do with the fact that most of the voice cast didnt come back and the fact that balto didnt find a home at the end
The writing, visuals & interactions are bad. Isn't this one where the weird female goose appeared. You just have nostalgia sickness. That's it & a kid doesn't know animation quality. The animation budget was cut & it shows. Balto who embraced his wolf heritage in the first one is gone & he is at square one. Jenna was put to the side when she was a more active character in the first one, etc. The sequels are just bad money grabs.

I love how much Balto cares about his children and scared about letting them go. Also, this scene made me fall in love with Aleu as a pup. She is so cute and beautiful that if it were me, I would adopt her in a heartbeat. I love that brown coat and just how brave and stubborn she is. That shows commitment and loyalty. I would also like to point out that Kodi and the other pups carry just as much wolf DNA as Aleu, but they just look like Huskies. What I would’ve liked to have seen is a sequel where Aleu and Kodi reunite and go on an adventure together with Balto. Aleu learned to accept herself as a wolf, and thanks to Balto 3, Kodi learned to accept his father not as a hero, but just as his father. And it would’ve been great to see Kodi accept himself as a wolf just like Aleu. I knew Kodi and Aleu were close as pups, seeing as how it was Kodi who was the last pup to be adopted and he waved goodbye to Aleu. So, it would’ve just been nice to see more depth with them.
Aleut is exactly like my Norwegian Buhund Angel,In all personality traits,she wasn't nicknamed "The Bouncy one" for nothing! Lol Also we like to do what Balto does and give her "nose kisses!"
The best part about this is that the vast majority of husky owners will know that huskies like to howl. A lot.

Balto. What wrong with being part wolf? Isn't that the lesson you learned in the last film. Shouldn't you teach that lesson to your children. That it is badass to be part wolf.
Your kids who are going to be adopted, are going to be far more aggressive, faster, stronger, bigger, sturdier, and louder (from all the howling) than the average husky. Even if they do not look like wolves or like Aleu. Your kids are going to be badass.
Plus you were separated from your mother when you were a pup, and partially grew up in a pack, so that pretty much explains why you cant let them go. Packs never leave their pups (Unless under extreme circumstances until they are), or kick them out for being an asshole.

I think the first film wasn't accepting that he was part wolf but in the general senses that he can contribute and be helpful to society give it a chance, and so you should always give people a chance no matter where they come from

This movie actually has hidden genius It both upsets and annoys me how people disregard Balto 2 and throw it under the bus just because they simply don't understand it. this film is beautiful in its own right besides Balto feels incomplete without the sequel's or at least that's the way i see it
Yes, exactly. There is no real contradiction with the first film.
At start, Balto accepts a part of him. And he becomes a hero, who's aclamed. But, there are repercutions which are interesting. A certain type of dogs continues, neverthless, to hurt him very much. It is clairly explained. And Balto must to distance himself. There is not easy. And he's worry about his daughter. There is a lot of confusion in him, and he must relearn through Aleu.
This movie shows how Balto manages his position of wolf-dog after his moral success in the first episode... And all difficulties that this entails. Balto was a quiet incomplete, and The Wolf Quest shows to us that after the first accomplishment of our hero, there is not perfect. And Balto must fight again.
Finally he becomes older and no longer has a complex at all in this point of vue. All that remained was for him to reconcile his notoriety and his paternal role with his son. In a way, Aleu indirectly entrusted him with this mission, when the direct link between Balto II and Balto III is established.
There is a constant link throughout the trilogy, which is a story very romanced and free, whose background reference is Nome and Balto the huski of 1925. But there is not an historic story 😉

Aleu is genetically more dog than Baltimore. Her siblings are just as wolf as she is. Even though they may look more like a Husky, doesn’t mean that the wolf isn’t in their DNA, which the humans didn’t seem to get that when they adopted her brothers and sisters. Also with Balto being the dad and him saving Nome from the diphtheria epidemic, you’d think people would be more accepting of wolfdogs and adopting Aleu, especially since she’s related to him and humans finally accepted Balto.

I love this movie just as much as the first one! I still wanna see the 3rd one, to me the animation/story/characters aren't bad at all, people just wanna hate on it because it's a sequel. People love to hate on sequels, if ya don't like the movie then don't bother looking up clips of the movie you hate. I hate little mermaid, but I don't waste my time looking it up just to hate on it because it's ridiculous.

I've loved Balto for 18 years. It was my favourite movie as a kid but how am I only learning now that there were two more movies.

To be honest, I know how Balto feels about that. Not sure if it’s the same thing but in high school, some boys in a couple of my classes always picked on me. They treated me like I’m just a mistake and that I wasn’t even supposed to exist, treating it like some sick game, doing anything to win. And it always made me so angry. No matter how many times I’ve told them to just leave me alone, they just kept going at it. They always made me feel like I never really belonged. So I know what it’s like to be treated different.

This movie was an influential part of my childhood (and my first real obsession) and seeing this clip feels like being a kid again. I don’t care if this movie isn't "good", I still love it just as much as always.
It may not have really NEEDED a sequel, but you can’t tell me that it was DEFINITELY not above lady and the tramp 2,PERIOD. And hey at LEAST it gives us the privilege to tell Disney, BALTO may have been underrated but at least it was STILL a GREAT movie, and it’s SEQUEL did NOT, ruin its reputation like YOU did for lady and the tramp,so in other words I TRUST the EXTRA bucks witch was POCKET money really you got out of it was worth running one of your MOST beloved classic films through the mud, AND into the ground?

I had a shepherd/lab mix when I was younger. The funny thing is her brothers all looked like their mom (a light brown lab) while she and her sisters all looked like their dad (a dark German shepherd)

Poor Balto is being forced to essentially give up his 'pack'. As a wolf, the pack is the alpha's children. It's no wonder he had a hard time letting go. If he looked at himself and respected the wolf side of him, he would have understood part of the reason why he couldn't let go as easily. As a wolf, he's supposed to live and die surrounded by family. Granted, popular culture is only just now understanding actual wolf pack dynamics.

After watching this scene I realize in real life what would be the odds that if a husky and wolf dog where to have pups and only ONE out of all of them is pure wolf.
None of these pups are pure.Balto himself told to Aleu that her brothers and sisters are part wolf too but it is not visible outside.
