I enjoy watching your videos and was was hoping you would continue this project. You might want to use Grade 8 nuts and bolts on all you drive line and power train components. Keep it up. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Great videos so far! One suggestion for your motor mount woes; look up Shawn McCabe here on youtube. He doesn't have much but you can see his Cherokee has a really good solution for mounting the motor. I wouldn't follow his controller mounting method though, more airflow would be better for cooling. Best of luck and I look forward to seeing how this project turns out!
I would suggest building a big, triangular front plate that can tie into the stock engine mounts and the four mounting holes on the front of the motor. Kinda like whats in there now but one solid piece. Could probably run some box tubing on the top too for stiffening. What I have in mind is kinda like the mounts for a heavy duty diesel engine but at the front instead of at the bellhousing.
Learning how to weld is easy and will come in super handy for fabrication work! You'll always need to mock up stuff like this anyways, so your current design can be used as a template for something more substantial. Awesome work nonetheless and I sub'd for future updates!
I have a friend with an older(1997 TJ) Jeep and he wants to do this same type of conversation. If he does I'll 100% put it on my channel and include all the detail one would need to repeat the process. I'm hoping to find more details on what type of motor would be ideal for this type of converstion.
It must have had the 0331 head. love this project though. My 98 XJ was wrecked when i purchased it and shes been going for 2 years now! i would love to gut my XJ and use her 4.0/aw4 for my YJ, and converting my XJ. The XJ is defiantly light enough for a DIY conversion. Maybe you could add rooftop solar for a slow trickle charge?
The problem with converting gas to electric is there are so many accessories that are powered by the motor which includes vacuum systems power steering power brakes and air conditioning that you have to come up with an alternative source for making those work
You're still in the 'proof of concept' and 'prototyping' phase of this project, it's only natural that your mounts will be a bit sketchy until you get your final positioning sorted and can get the custom parts fabricated for the final assembly.
He isn't done with it yet. It looks like he intends to use the original transmission so it should shift similar to how it did when it was an internal combustion motor but you wouldn't have to worry about stalling it out :)
Hockey pucks make great engine mount replacements for very little money, and they can take a good beating. Love your project, best of luck!
Thanks for taking the effort to document, film, edit and upload the process 🙂
Yeah that mounting set up needs to be the mock up for a stronger set up. Think of the torque that’s going to be on that motor
Second that
May I suggest polyurethane bushings?
School is nothing to what you’ll learn doing this project KEEP IT UP!!
Bro, what a nice work, anxious to watch the next episode.
Can’t wait for the update!

Keep it up! Looking forward to the next step.
Great! I was thinking about it just looked on TH-cam and I found your video.

you need to support the front of the transmission too
remove the bell housing and use a cv shaft, lift the motor or glue it directly to the gearbox
You should post a donation fund to this! I would love to buy a xj ev if this catches on and mass produced
WAITINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
great work ! was thinking about how hard would it be to convert such jeep to hybrid
my hero

Wonder hoe the dash, air bags and such stuff can be made working.... its basically run by the ecu, and that will not work in the ev version?
Good job! What are the specifications of the electric motor?
Did you get it driving?? We need a update
Is this possible on a smaller car?!.
4,5,6speed ?!
Please make an update!
How is the project going?
Una pregunta de México no tiene nada que se pueda hacer para Nissan 91v6 loque pasa que descompuso y kiero saber cómo ecuado mesaldria motor
Can we see the thing run.
how much was for the keyed adapter? what specs did you give Canev?

And it’s such a pain in the ass to figure too!
May we know what model of the motor? So we can see the detiails sir. Thanks
what size battery pack do you use for this build?
My friend and I were just talking about this. How much did it cost you, and do you know how many kms/miles you'll get per charge?
Just imagin this guy in 10-15 years replacing elon musk and becoming next king of electic cars

ولكن ماذا سيحدث المكيف و محول الدوران تبريد المكيف كلها تستهلك من الباطريه
what is the wattage of your motor and how much does it cost?
How can I get such an electric motor with its accessories and from a location I can order?
man you ar genius good luck i m wating to see next video wish you all the best
Power steering????
Fucknn sickk bra!!!
How does the shifting gears work?

Hey what motor is this that you used and how is it working so far
The motor is an Advanced DC 9 inch series wound motor. I haven’t tested it extensively but it seems to work!
Mirando lo q le voy a hacer ala cheroke de mi tata 😈
Next video pls
Hi Daniel i need ur help
