      THANK YOU!!! I get so sick of hearing that crap! Especially, the ones who keep saying "Put them in a U.F.C. ring and they would get their asses handed to them......" Most people post stuff because they are proud of their work. It takes more work to be an ass than to just say "Good work!"

      @@JoeHeine You are comparing a striking based art with a throwing based art. It's not about the martial art you pick. It's about how you train and utilizes it. Every art is strong not one is better than the other.

    Anyone who says TKD wouldn't work in a "real" fight can not make a jumping back-kick to the head.

    • @thebestpker1000
      @thebestpker1000 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      +jeff fay exactly!
      Trust me, these backspinning kicks to the head works all the time. Im a small guy 5'7 and i have black belt in taekwondo and i have been to about 20 tournaments, but when i stopped tkd and started practising mma and thai-boxing i had a HUGE advantage because of my fast kicks. I beat up big guys just by using kicks. And I have KO'ed some guys within 20 sek just by using a dwit chagi (horse kick)

    • @jeffreyfay1849
      @jeffreyfay1849 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thebestpker1000 yup. People only think they are flashy because they don't understand when to use them. Against a bigger opponent like you said, the second they lunge in you can simply spin, and stay protected and at the same time deliver a powerful kick to the gut or face. KO.

    Some of ya is getting in my nerve going on Taekwondo and their hands being down.. If you don't know anything about the Olympic sparring the stfu and don't watch... Their plating a game of don't give away Points their hands are down to prevent getting scored on the body... If their hands was up like they was about to box or kick box then they'd have a well protected face but then they'd be getting scored all in the body.... Now outside of Olympic sparring and in their regular class practice in sure their instructors have them have their hands up for real life situations... That's why ufc kicking boxing didn't get that far to be an Olympic sport... Because how hard is it to really just basically swing your fist out....
    Now kicking is much harder and takes a lot more technique to do... If you don't lie looking at Taekwondo "Olympic sparring" because of the fact they aren't punching to the FACE then go watch itf... Or kick boxing... But again those didn't make it as and Olympic art now have a nice day

    • @t0xicrouge192
      @t0xicrouge192 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Their hands are also down so that they are completely relaxed, and can block a fast kick when needed. I do Taekwondo, and its just uncomfortable to keep your hands up like your in a Muay Thai match or something.

    no i havent, ill look him up though. Yes but it's all in the motion and the person who is behind the kick. You can have a muay thai kickboxer who has started at the age of 4 easily out power a tae kwon do person who has started at the age of 10. Its just pretty much who is behind the kick and how the style is executed as well as the motion. And as well they only tested one kick, maybe if they tested it out of 5 tries it could have turned out differently as well as using different kicks too,

    love the negative comments if you dont like say nothing it only makes you look stupid...
    I do ITF taekwondo in UK, I also used to do Shotokan and Wado Ryu and was a boxer for 13 years.
    Our ITF allows head punch, in sparring the only illegal moves are below the belt and in the back. But thats just point scoring We are taught all the vunerable points and in the street anything goes.
    Even though I boxed had 24 fights and lost none I am also much taller than my instructor but his taekwondo skills are such I can hardly get a point off him. Beleive me I come back with a few bruises.
    WTF is the style used in the Olympics and yes they do not punch but ITF certainly does. We just had a competition in scotland where there was two knockouts and one broken nose ;)

      WTF and ITF have almost same arsenal of kicks but just 2 different world organisations that's all !
      Sorry, but your comment is just so much out of order ! You suggest that ITF would have the same 50 50 kicks as for example Tang Soo Do has ! I suggest, you take classes in WTF and ITF and compare ! Even in Tang Soo Do we would use more than 75 % foot work but we do encourage hand techniques as well x Personally, I regard TSD as the sister of big brother TKD but I love both set of martial arts. It is a bit naughty but in a fight I would prefer TKD but tournament which involves pattern I rather would use TSD instead x

    • @prof.watermelon9775
      @prof.watermelon9775 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, but i think the reason why they didn't do it is because both of them are good a countering kicks. As what you've observed in their sparring they usually got points from countering each other which is normal to advance players but there are also people who still do a lot of combinations in sparring but that depends on the style of that person. Both of this guys are more used on getting points from countering and also, countering is more efficient in long sparrings since it conserves more stamina than attacking the opponent. This video is 7:28 mins long and normally that is considered a long sparring in taekwondo.

    most of you say that teakwondo kicks are easy to catch and too useless, but these kicks are extremely fast and extremely strong! look at some documentations where they test the strength and speed of a teakwondo kick! try to catch a kick of a professianal teakwondo fighter, these kicks are really fast. But I do teakwondo and a bit of kickboxin and I must say teakwondo has disadvantages. Number One is that you dont have an upper defense and number 2 many kicks are useless in a street because theyre to costly. But pick the right techniques which are heavy to catch and which can be done really easy and quickly! You just have to pick the right techniques of TKD for competing with other fighters.

      More importantly, imagine using this kind of kick in an MMA match. by using Taekwondo kicking principles, but directing the kick at the thigh or the knee, you could easily disable your opponent. The biggest disadvantage of Taekwondo is that it kicks too high.

      @RogarouZet 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      sure, thats why a teakwondo fighter has to practice mma or thaiboxing before getting into the ring with an mma/thai-fighter. you have to develop your techniques and you have to adapt your kicks. But I must say I saw many fights in mma where a fighter won with a high kick, its just about speed and timing

      Barrett Nichols look at cung lee those tornado kicks is fast and could easy knock some one out its just you need the guts to use it in a real pro fight but in the streets a taekwondo fighter will easily beat some random gangster on the street

    • @RogarouZet
      @RogarouZet 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's right, no one in the streets expects really fast kicks in a street fight

      @barrettnichols2949 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fast kicks are fine, but more importantly, *smart* kicks are the better option. Fake high, hit low, or fake low, hit high. A smart fighter tricks his opponent into doing what he wants; it's not just about guts. Never put your hand, or your foot, so to say, out farther than you can draw it back.

      Vid Luver People die in fights, because there are no rules. Sports have rules about every aspect of the match, fairness is important. In sport you can be a good person and a winner on the same day. In fighting the only value is winning, the cheapest fastest shot is best. A fair fight is not a fight, it is a sporting match. The more unfair a fight is, the better: you attack while your opponent sleeps.
      In a world with so many actual wars on every day, well fed, energetic people playing combat sports are dignified by referring to themselves as players.

      ***** I understand that this aspect of TKD is closer to "regular" sports, but why are TKD practitioners the only ones to be referred to as players in combat sports? Why aren't boxers called players? Or Judoka, karatekas, or even MMA fighters? I would actually argue that MMA as a whole is closer to "regular" sports than most other forms of martial arts since its the most regulated. So why dont we refer to them as "MMA players"?

      @JohnnyCrimson2000 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Idk, I still think its a case of double standards. I get what you're saying and I agree with some aspects of it but I cant settle for that being the only reason since other combat sports are guilty of the some of same things that you mentioned. I'm ok with calling TKD practitioners "players" but as long as you call other combat sports practitioners "players" as well. It's just a bunch of hypocrisy in my eyes

      vini castro What are you on man??? ITF is waaaaay better than WTF! Everyone who has trained WTF TKD and gone over to bigger better things regret using so much time on the scam posing as a martial art to get money from parents with boy children.

    • @vinicastro9292
      @vinicastro9292 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you don't know is that WTF is not only what you see in competition. There's olympic WTF and real WTF, where people learn poomsaes, defenses, punches and lots of different attacks with hands. And from what I've watched of ITF tournaments, they punch anyway, without skill and can't even defend right.

    I wouldn't say he's better than the guy in red. Fast, but not firm on his feet. The other guy may have taken less action, but it was more useful action and he seemed better on his feet.
