I was one of the main healer in classic wow as a dwarf shadow priest in raids. They put me in the group of tanks and warlocks, and the ve healing was great 🙂 In the next expansion I was the mana battery for healers and other mana sucking classes. 😆
I've enjoyed seeing your videos and learning tips on how to push our class to the limits! I used to main a fury warrior so I admit it hurts to be doing less damage, but the utility is super satisfying and honestly when we factor in warlock dps it's pretty easy to see us up in the top 10. Thanks for making content for our class. Hail Satan!
We just figured this out too! Just trying to sort who to put in my group besides the main tank. I will definitely check out that addon, trying to shoot the window before he decurses and you have the debuff is a little tricky. Loving naxx though, Ive never felt so important lol
Awesome to hear it Thomas! Next week should be a lot cleaner, this was our first Loatheb kill and got a little scuffed at the end. Weak Auras seem to be the way to go to min/max this fight as spriest. Are you playing Shadowlands?

Tried this on my priest on Loatheb tonight. For some reason my VE healed everyone in my group but the tank. I guess I was too far away. But I cant seem to find any info saying it has a minimum range . Thanks for the vid guess I'll stand where you are next time and hope it works XD
You have to stand closer to Loatheb and the tank than your max-range Mind Flay. I am not exactly sure how this element of the VE spell mechanic works, if anyone knows where the radius originates from, if its from the boss hitbox or player proximity, let us know!

I find this method better than the alternate strategy of letting a priest with spirit of redemption die with soulstones to trigger the spirit for a big burst of uninterrupted healing. That was our key to downing him the first couple times and now trying to move away from relying on it as a crutch
What Weakauras would you recommend for this fight as a SPriest? Is there a particular time I should apply Vampiric Embrace for maximum uptime? I had hoped this fight would allow me to use more of my toolkit to good effect. Thanks for the confirmation.
WAs are in video description - I'm using Weak Aura Loatheb Decurse like Ultimate0ne pointed out and Loatheb Healer Tracker. Also just using visual queues for when Warlock curses get knocked off. Apply VE right at the start of the fight, and every time you can when the curse removal resets. Good luck!
Loatheb Healer Tracker on Wago.io. It isn't perfect, but can be useful for healers learning the fight. Don't over-rely on it, learn the rotation and assignments prior.
darkfry is right, it kept getting pushed off from the 16 debuff slot limit so to save mana, I just went MF/MB. Ideally, you'll have SWP up on boss fights.
@@ExpiryTV just a question for you, wouldn't you only try to keep a rank 1 up during your 30seconds of down time between curse removals? I feel like going into a conserve phase may be efficient when ve is knocked off. Then just burn the rest of your mana during execute. Inside the ve window just pump a standard rotation?
@@darkfry83 Depends on mana. I did wand a couple times but wasn't running into mana issues on the fight. 97 parse on this attempt, will try to optimize.
Its amazing, till it resists at a crucial time and your potions are all on cooldown :( Everyone wants to be in your group cause it means they dont have to spam Shadow protection potions, hah
Loatheb dispels all Curses every 30 seconds. If you time your VE for right AFTER he dispels, you will get the full effect. There is a Weak Aura for this, but what I do is watch the Warlock Curses on the boss, notice when they are gone, then apply VE.

Shadow priests are definitely appreciated in Naxx, also a bunch of BiS gear that no one else really wants :D

Yeah loatheb has a huge hit box it seems, need to be really close to hit him. Ran into same issue on our first attempt.

@@ExpiryTV Based on my brief testing VE originated from the priest and heals everything within a 30 yard radius.

Why you don't never use shadow word pain?
They probably didn't have the debuff slots to warrant it. But IMO, SW:P > CoWeakness or HM
@@darkfry83 in our raid we cut nightfall, so on most fights, I can cast SWP, consume my ass off and do pretty good.

This has been hotfixed so that Loatheb now dispells it :/
Loatheb dispels all Curses every 30 seconds. If you time your VE for right AFTER he dispels, you will get the full effect. There is a Weak Aura for this, but what I do is watch the Warlock Curses on the boss, notice when they are gone, then apply VE.
Rather get one more mage to maximise dps
