I'm not sure you know how much your journey over this last year has been an inspiration. Mental health is such an odd thing and watching the two of you pick yourselves up, smile, and move forward has done wonders to motivate me to do the same through my own issues. There were days this year when just opening my eyes was overwhelming let alone picking up the knitting needles and creating something. Seeing your example showed me that it can be done, and today not only did I open my eyes, I finished two projects, started another and realized that I'm smiling! So, thank you. Keep on keeping on!! ❤️❤️
That was such fun. It really feels like we are travelling with you. Andrew would be so proud that Madeleine has taken on his mantle of historical facts interesting titbits. Can’t wait to see the interviews. Thank you 😊
Haha, I see I gave the same reaction as you did haha, I also wanted to mention Andrew but then in the fact that I see him in Madeleine and that gives so much peace. Andrea you are doing such a good job even though you miss Andrew so much. You both are great ❤️❤️❤️
You said to expect a poorly edited vlog. This is practically an episode! Thanks for showing us your trip. You two are so cute sitting in the car with your beautiful red curly hair.
What an absolute brilliant travel log you both made. Madeleine is a natural and comes over so well, just like her mum 💕. I loved the jumper you wore in the garden with Marie Wallen. You had some beautiful weather. Looking forward to more travels. Enjoy yourselves- you make Andrew so proud🌺
The selection of background music is so soothing throughout this video, love it. This video has provided me with a small view of beautiful countryside’s that you two have provided, thank you. This video has provided me with a view that i would not otherwise see with living in America.
I just loved this!! Fruity Knitting is one of my favorite knitting podcasts. It is wonderful to see the two of you soldiering on without Andrew--your beloved husband and father. He was such a presence. Please know, that mentioning him, or remembering stories and sharing them with us is okay. Sending lots of love from across the pond.
Ladies, your vlog is a feast for the eyes, so much history in these old places. Thanks to both of you to allow us to discover a bit more about them and the people who inspire us to add new techniques to our knitting journey.
I can't help but think how proud Andrew would be of his two ladies carrying on his passion for documenting fiber artists. You are both brave women and I appreciate watching the product of your hard work.
I am so enjoying watching the two of you supporting one another emotionally, professionally, and with deep humanity. Andrew is so very missed, but you are making something of your lives going forward. I hope it includes all of us for a very long time! Much love from Nova Scotia, Canada!
Wonderfully done! Madeleine reminded me so much of Andrew in this video: her curiosity about history and culture, the infectious joy she finds in learning and having new experiences. Like having a piece of him still with us.
Dear Andrea and Madeleine, I echo the sentiments of so many of us! Your dear Andrew is so proud of how you both are carrying out the great work on behalf of all of us. I truly loved your Vlog and get to see places in Europe I could never see. I also love the history you tell us about in these places and look forward so much to the interviews to come. You are such an example to me. Also I downloaded some of the great music pieces. Keep doing what you are doing, in your timing, we are your patient Patreons. Much love.
A travel vlog is such a great idea! I particularly enjoyed the shots of Andrea taking photos/videos - Madeleine did a great job. Can't wait to see more :)
I'm enjoying this format tremendously! And I just echo the sentiment of several viewers: I kept thinking how proud Andrew is to see his daughter continue the historical & cultural backdrop during your travels...WELL DONE, both of you!💖💕
You've both been through a really awful time, and even though you are still going through the mill and missing Andrew, it's so good to see you smiling and laughing together, and supporting each other. So, thank you for another lovely and inspirational video, ...which covers so much more than knitting.
We (that is my husband and I, as we have been with you through joy and travel, knitting and fun, hope and heartbreak) really appreciate the travel vlog. Every bit was as professional, well-presented and interesting as the usual episodes. We gave you a 'wave' as we are just a few miles away from Hawarth.
A totally brilliant travel blog. Beautifully presented. Thank you Andrea and Madeleine for taking us on your UK travels in this way and whetting our appetite for all the special interviews to come. Blessings.
This was a delightful treat! Thank you for including us on the adventure of all the exciting things to come on Fruity Knitting. Everything about this channel is inspiring, personally connecting and elegant! Thank you for all you do ♥️
How absolutely fabulous! It is such a treat to travel along with you, and I can't wait to see the interviews, as well as more of your travels. I feel like Andrew's right there with you, too, beaming with pride and delight, which fills me with joy - you two are truly amazing! Thank you for bringing us along and sharing your wonderful insights, stunning photography, music choices, updates & fun things on your trip, and of course those gorgeous jumpers & cardis! :-)) Best wishes for the rest of your trip! Xo
“Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste.” Charlotte Bronte Thank you for sharing your journey of happiness with us! It was yummy!
Tuned in for knitting, but got a special treat instead. Since most of us can’t travel, it’s nice to go on your trips and experience everything vicariously from the comfort of our sofas. Keep up the great work. Love how this channel is evolving. Now it’s educational for more than just fiber content. Learning so much history from your vlogs. ^^
This was such a joyful surprise! Thank you for the travel vlog, it's beautifully put together and Madeleine is such a natural talent in everything she does. Hope you take enough rest & sleep time, and maybe even a day or two off. It hurts to see you tired. Please take care of yourselves.
Oh what joy to take us on this massive adventure. As others have said (and will keep saying) Andrew will be so proud of you both and will be sitting on your shoulders helping you along the way. It must be so difficult for you both but you are absolutely brilliant. Well done. So looking forward to seeing these vlogs. Yorkshire is Gods Own County and I know you will have such fun. 🧶🧶
Oh I loved this so much as Im wiping away tears of joy. I appreciate how much work you and Madeleine are doing for the interviews and travel blogs. Thank you for bringing us on your journey and looking forward to the interviews!
I LOVE THIS VLOG! Madelaine, you are a natural in front of the camera (just like your Dad and Mum!). I love your travel narrative. Fortunately, I am getting to see things I shall never have an opportunity to see in person and I am overwhelmed with your enthusiasm and knowledge of the various places you visit. I know this is a work trip, but I hope you both are getting a much needed break from the events of recent months. Perhaps I speak only for this knitter, but I certainly appreciate all you do to inspire me as a knitter, and I will happily continue to support what you do for as long as you care to do it. Glad to be a patron. I am still working on my lovely Bohus Stickning project that you introduced me to and while you are traveling I am reviewing all of your "old" episodes. There's so much I missed the first time through. I'm looking forward to your planned interviews. I'm sure they will inspire me to take on even more projects. Keep safe ... and keep VLOGGING!
I find your travels just as valuable as your regular content. It is interesting to me to see the buildings, gardens, colors, etc. that inform your guest's designs. Your travel vlog is a brilliant addition to your excellent content.
Kudos to you both for such an entertaining and informative vlog. You’re in a part of England I want to visit, so please keep these videos coming! I’m sure I’m like most of your fans, always enjoying what you’re wearing as well as what you’re saying.
Well this was quite the teaser! Who will be interviewed...can't wait to find out! So clever, the music, travel scenes and tidbits. You ladies are so inspiring. Your creativity and perseverance would make Andrew proud. We are all out here cheering you on and waiting to see what you come up with next.
Congratulations to you both for seamlessly carrying on your wonderful podcasts while you both are still struggling with your loss. This was an absolutely beautiful episode and I’m happy to be coming along on your travels. PS I am picturing Andrew in the backseat smiling.😇
Well done ladies! I enjoyed tagging along and am looking forward to all that is ahead. I know it is very hard without him but Andrew would be so very proud of you both.
Fabulous! I smiled all the way through this film! So lovely to see you both on your adventures. I live fairly close to Marie Wallin and have been lucky enough to take a class with her. Also will be travelling to Bedgellert in Wales for the first time in just over a week, a place that I know holds a special place in your heart. Looking forward to some mountain walks and might take some knitting in my backpack to do some extreme knitting. My husband will think I’m nuts! 😂
Thank you so very much for sharing your mother/daughter adventure with us all. I'm no longer, so watching your beautiful videos of British scenery is almost like being there in person. As a widow, I know there will be many times when grief overtakes you; I so admire the two of you for the way you have not only supported each other, but allowed your viewers to share the ups and downs of your new lives. Much love from Canada - and I can hardly wait to see the upcoming interviews! xox
Wow, great episode! Fantastic details, love all the little parts showing us everything, including the food. Can’t emphasize enough what a treat this is since travel is so limited . And, the artistic side of your videos is amazing. And professional. And the music! Loved the ferry ride, your room, everything. Will look forward to the Marie Wallin interview, but the journey with you is going to be just as good. Thanks!!!
After only a few minutes, I had to stop and comment. My 93 year old mother and another best friend "passed" within a week of each other (both on their birthdays), less than 2 weeks ago. Sadness is with me most days, so to see the joy emanating from the two of you is inspiring! Thank you for documenting your journey, so we can share with you. Today is going to be grand...as Shetland Wool Week begins today also. What a treat for me!
Great vlog girls. When Madeleine said you were traveling to "Harwick" I couldn't think what port that was. So then it dawned on me. Ha Ha! Over here we pronounce it "Harridge" or if you are a Londoner or from Essex, Arridge😀😆😀. What funny people were are. Enjoy your trip from Harwich. Lovely to see you both back at it. Andrew will be smiling. X
Oh Madeleine, I'm so happy the casting director hired you to join the Fruity Knitting cast. You are luminous and magnetic. Wonderful to see you getting the hang of this vlog thing.
i am currently in Andalucia visiting family.I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your beautifully put together travel vlog.I am in awe of your driving Andrea we have hired a car to explore the Sierra Nevada and getting used to driving on the opposite side of the road has given me some extra grey hairs. You are two extraordinary women!
I loved every minute of this video and look forward to the next one. I lost my husband of 54 years to cancer two years ago and it’s hard to go on but I refuse to let cancer destroy all that he achieved in his life and take two lives.
This was such a wonderful treat! I love the travel vlog, and thank you, Madeleine, for continuing the historical bits of interest- you're both doing such a fantastic job, and I can't wait to see what's to come!
Andrea...I'm so pleased to see you smiling and excited. I know you are still going through a lot of emotions. You are extremely lucky to have your daughter with you. The vlog is fantastic. Enjoy your trip.
Delightful episode, ladies. It’s so good to see you on the road. This sounds like a spectacular trip. The footage so far is lovely and your choice of music is perfect. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this journey.
What a great idea, ladies. I truly enjoyed the scenery and the background about the towns and the building style, especially. Continue to be safe and enjoy your trip. Looking forward to the episodes that will be “born” on this trip. 😉
This was just wonderful, beautifully done. After going absolutely nowhere for so long, this vlog has lifted my spirits so much, I'm looking forward to Cumbria, my husband was born there and our latest pup is named for the beautiful area and we call her Bria. Thank you , Thank you so very much for allowing us to follow along on this fabulous journey. Safe travels.
This was a a great treat! I enjoyed being an armchair traveler with you both. Can’t wait to see the interviews as well. Thanks for such wonderful content.
yay!!! great little video - what a treat! the countryside looks gorgeous and thanks so much for previewing marie's new collection too with the lovely jumper Madeleine was modelling too :)
Thank you for including us on your journey! You are strong, phenomenal women and a true joy to watch. We appreciate all the beautiful content that you create for the global knitting community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
This travel blog was so GREAT! Fascinating to see all the back story of the work that goes into your podcasts. Madeleine is a natural at this! it must be in the genes, both sides. I see Andrew's mannerisms and mischievous twinkling eyes shining thru her. Such a joy. Thanks you for sharing your travels with us. Linda
Thank you Andrea and Madeline. I loved this travel video. Everywhere you travelled looked lovely in the sunny weather. Hope you enjoyed it too. Madeline is so like Andrew in looks and history details. You have showed me parts of our country that I haven't seen myself. I hope you continue to do these travel vlogs. Andrea you must be so proud of Madeline, she has inherited both yours and Andrews knitting skills. Looking forward to your next podcast. Thank you. 😊
What a beautiful travel Journal. It is wonderful to see you both stretching your wings after the last 12 months. Please keep these kinds of vlogs going. It is pure joy to watch.
Love thoughtful your choice of music, the dynamic music during the car ride and then the softer music by the ocean. So lovely to travel with you, I noticed the clever windshields on the beach. Great old houses, croched animals, Totally enjoyed this vlog episode. Thanks !
I came back from work to find your first travel log and had a wonderful time watching you both as I was unpacking a yarn order which arrived today … sheer bliss! My heart started beating faster as soon as you reached the north of England! Yorkshire stole my heart nearly thirty one years ago and I never looked back! Although I didn’t know Andrew, I have the feeling that he would be full of joy and pride at the sight of this new page you are writing together… From Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with great affection and admiration 🤗🧶🫖
Loved this episode and I can't wait to see the interview with Marie Wallin as she is one of my favorite designers. Love how the two of you work together as well, it's wonderful to watch and I'm looking forward to more!!
Thank you so much for sharing with us your travel to Uk. Also I looking forward to see your interview. Have a wee resting in this beautiful country, but please 🙏take care of yourself because Covid is everywhere.
I’m so glad you let us in on the secret!! Now we can be excited along with you! What a wonderful travel blog, and so good to see you eat your scone the proper (Cornish) way! 🤣😄❤️
I was going to ask about driving in England with the steering wheel on the left side (car from Germany) (in one of the segments, it look like the steering wheel changed sides?). I love the scenes. England is so beautiful and full of great history. So great that you have met up with Marie Wallen. Lovely sweaters ladies!
This was just delightful. Well done! I enjoyed it so much. You create such wonderful content. I do hope others become patrons so we can continue enjoying all the great work you do. Much love 💕
Thank you Andrea & Madeleine that was such fun 🍀 I was glad & relieved really to see you both in good health, finding joy and sharing with your followers. I’m feeling blessed and so look forward to your next vlog instalment & interviews 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
This vlog was so-so-so wonderful!!! What a great job! Madeline - you are so amazing! And Andrea is so brave driving in UK! Wherever Andrew is watching you, he is definitely so proud of you two. I cannot wait your next vlogs and of course, the interviews! I know it is hard time for you, but you are two tough ladies and do everything top level. Thank you so much!
Looking forward to all the future UK interviews but especially to the Norfolk segment since that's my homeplace. Wish I had known you were going there - so many wonderful places to see and visit. Really glad the weather held for you two on your adventure. Mind how you go!
I absolutely loved your travel vlog! You're traveling places I've never been, and I really enjoyed your perspectives and ponderings about local construction, etc. Maybe because we are knitters and crafters, we sometimes focus on some of the most obscure details! :) The scenery is beautiful, and it's interesting to see a little of your work filming. Most of all, it is just nice to spend a little time with you two! Thanks!
This is just lovely! The beautiful scenery, history tidbits, music, and teasers of interviews to come... we appreciate so much the effort you’ve put in to not just work on your episodes, but also this vlog. I hope you will continue to make them! You have a gift for finding and highlighting the beauty around you, and it is a treat to be invited along. Blessings to you both!
What a fabulous idea! I love watching the travel vlog and seeing the sights with you. Madeleine is so much like her father, finding all the historical references and enlightening us. I look forward to seeing more of these and the two of you together... it makes my heart happy!
Those stones are ‘flint’ . They are used as building materials and were also knapped into sharp tools like scrapers and arrow heads in the Pre metal era. You can visit a Neolithic flint mine near Thetford as long as you don’t mind confined spaces!
I'm not a knitter, however, found you on TH-cam some months ago. I'm just delighted to see you on this adventurous trip as we all know that Andrew would be so proud of you both. You have such skill in creating the video and photography - I feel as though I'm in the back seat of your car learning the history of your travels. I also did not know the jam goes on the scone first. This is just delightful. Thank you.
You two lovely ladies make a great team! So professional, but natural and warm! Between these travel vlogs and the back episodes of Fruity Knitting, you will keep us going. Safe travels!
Thank you SO MUCH for the travel Vlog. Your stunning footage of your travels through the years has always been a highlight in each episode for me. It is fun to have a few shorter videos that just feature the countryside. When I share Fruity Knitting with friends and family I always say your shows have a mini “travelogue “ and often features some amazing camera and drone footage. I am so happy you’ve been blessed with great weather makes for even more wonderful videos and must be so fun for you two. Please continue to share your travels with us, I’ve not been to any of the locations you’ve shown and feel so lucky to see them through your eyes. A quick memory from former episodes were of ruins you hiked to! I know even if I visit the countries you’ve shown someday, the hidden jewels you find on your hikes I will NEVER see. So please keep them coming! The last moment with Madeline in this Vlog was special and wonderful, I saw an expression and twinkling her eye that was exactly like Andrew’s 💕. Love to you both and I love your smiles!
Ahh I love the Brontë sisters!! I will probably never get to the UK to see it myself, but what fun to see it with you two lovely ladies! Snatch every minute you can to relax and take it in, I know you’re working hard!! Can’t wait to see all these fabulous programs you’re putting together!
Lovely to watch. The interviews will be eagerly awaited. Good on you for doing all the driving, Andrea: freeway driving is not my favourite thing. Excellent video work and links from Madeline - what a team! Charmed to see you both wearing Andrew's knits too.
Stunning video/blog. The two of you have found the perfect niche for yourselves. Great footage, xcelllent historical tidbits. You both make it so interesting and you work marvelously together. Looking forward to the next one!
What a lovely trip! Thank you for inviting us along! You both are in my prayers! You’re doing marvelous with Fruity Knitting! I feel like I went on a Girls Trip! Looking forward to all the interviews! Merry 🧶🤗🧶
Marvelous! You may be interviewing fascinating and talented knitwear designers BUT you both are talented designers as well. Your vlog is a feast for the eyes and soul (I only wish I could have feasted on the lovely snacks as well). You have piqued my interest; I am certainly looking forward to your upcoming episodes.
Just such a beautiful travel vlog. I will have to watch it over several times to take it all in.....I have never been in that part of the world so I love the scenery and Madeleines historical stories, plus all of your beautiful knitwear. It had me mesmerized! Big 🤗 to you both 🌸💕🌸

Love the travel vlog idea, and much looking forward to the interviews in future episodes! You two are amazing!
Absolutely delightful! And just look at that great weather. So looking forward to further news from you both..Andrew would be so so proud.
Thank you.
This was lovely! Thank you so much for including us in your travels. What a great idea! Excited to follow along.
Linda
That's a great travel vlog. You are travelling a long way on our narrow English roads and lanes. So glad you found some sunshine. Travel safely.
Thanks !
Love to see such a harmonious mother and daughter! God bless you and keep your travels safe and full of joy!
Thank you for bringing us along with you! Madeleine, you are awesome on camera!
The steering wheel wasn’t the only thing. Madeline's beauty spot changed sides too. 🙂
I do miss Yorkshire since I moved to Southwest UK. Great video, thanks for sharing despite your busy/tiring schedule!
Madeline, you are your fathers daughter!! Ladies you did a beautiful job. Thank you for the road trip!!
This was just delightful. Well done! I enjoyed it so much. You create such wonderful content. I do hope others become patrons so we can continue enjoying all the great work you do. Much love 💕
Thank you for this virtual trip through one of those lovely places I long to visit in real life. Beautifully done.
That English scenery is something else. I am always happy when I see a new video from this channel. I know Andrew would be so proud. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you! I love that you always share a bit of trivia about the places you visit!
What a beautiful journey you two are having. Take care of yourselves and know that we are all rooting for you! Thanks for taking us along...
Thank you for doing this, it was really fun to share visually in your journey. I just wish I could have had a bite of that scone!
Thank you so much for inviting us to join you on your journey - I am really enjoying the lovely music as well as the sightseeing.
Those stones are ‘flint’ . They are used as building materials and were also knapped into sharp tools like scrapers and arrow heads in the Pre metal era. You can visit a Neolithic flint mine near Thetford as long as you don’t mind confined spaces!
This was just a pleasant surprise! Both of you are amazing! Lovely trip. Stay safe.
Thank you.
What a delight! Looking forward to more travel vlogs as well as watching the interview with Marie Wallin. She is one of my favorite designers as well.
Thanks for taking us along on your travels! Madeleine is lovely and doing an awesome job. Looking forward to to the interviews and more travel blogs.
I feel like
I went on a Girls Trip!
